Abstract:We develop a method for proving sup-norm and Hölder estimates for $\overline{\partial}$ on wide class of finite type pseudoconvex domains in $\mathbb{C}^n$. A fundamental obstruction to proving sup-norm estimates is the possibility of singular complex curves with exceptionally high order of contact with the boundary. Our method handles this problem, and in $\mathbb{C}^3$, we prove sup-norm and Hölder estimates for all bounded, pseudoconvex domains with real-analytic boundary.

Abstract:We prove several inequalities related to the $\bar\partial$-operator on bounded domains in $\mathbb{C}^n$, which can be viewed as a $\bar\partial$-version of the classical Poincaré inequality and its various generalizations, and apply them to derive a generalization of Sobolev Inequality with Trace in $\mathbb{R}^n$. As applications to complex analysis, we get an integral form of Maximum Modulus Principle for holomorphic functions, and an improvement of Hörmander's $L^2$-estimate for $\bar\partial$ on bounded strictly pseudoconvex domains.

Abstract:We prove a homotopy formula which yields almost optimal estimates in all (positive-indexed) Sobolev and Hölder-Zygmund spaces for the $\overline \partial$ equation on finite type domains in $\mathbb C^2$, extending the earlier results of Fefferman-Kohn (1988) and Chang-Nagel-Stein (1992), and Range (1992). The main novelty of our proof is the construction of holomorphic support functions that admit precise estimates when the parameter variable lies in a thin shell outside the domain, which generalizes Range's method.

Abstract:This paper is the second part of our series of works to establish $L^2$ estimates and existence theorems for the $\overline{\partial}$ operators in infinite dimensions. In this part, we consider the most difficult case, i.e., the underlying space is a general pseudo-convex domain. In order to solve this longstanding open problem, we introduce several new concepts and techniques, which have independent interest and pave the way for research that investigates some other issues in infinite-dimensional analysis.

Our main result is that on a non-reduced analytic space, which is Cohen-Macaulay and whose underlying reduced space is smooth, the $\bar\partial$-equation for $(0,1)$-forms can be solved with $L^p$-estimates.

Abstract:By using the Cauchy-Fantappie machinery, the nonhomogeneous Cauchy-Riemann equation on convex domain D for (0, q) form f with partial derivativef = 0, partial derivativeu = f, has a solution which is a linear combination of integrals on bD of the following differential forms[GRAPHICS]j = 1, . . ., n-q-3, where A = [partial derivative (zeta)r(zeta), zeta - z], beta = \z -zeta\(2) and r is the defining function of D. In the case of finite strict type, Bruna et al. estimated [partial derivativer(zeta), zeta - z], by the pseudometric constructed by McNeal. We can e stimate the above differential forms and their derivatives. Then, by using a method of estimating integrals essentially due to McNeal and Stein, we prove the following almost sharp Holder estimate[GRAPHICS]for arbitary kappa > 0. Abstract:We obtain uniform estimates for the canonical solution to $\bar\partial u=f$ on the Cartesian product of smoothly bounded planar domains, when $f$ is continuous up to the boundary. This generalizes Landucci's result for the bidisc toward higher dimensional product domains.

He also extends and solves the problem on a bounded product domain $\Omega^n$, where $\Omega$ is any bounded domain in $\mathbb{C}$ with $C^{1,\alpha}$ boundary for some $\alpha>0$.

Abstract:We establish general sufficient conditions for exact (and global) regularity in the $\bar\partial$-Neumann problem on $(p,q)$-forms, $0 \leq p \leq n$ and $1\leq q \leq n$, on a pseudoconvex domain $\Omega$ with smooth boundary $b\Omega$ in an $n$-dimensional complex manifold $M$. Our hypotheses include two assumptions: 1) $M$ admits a function that is strictly plurisubharmonic acting on $(p_0,q_0)$-forms in a neighborhood of $b\Omega$ for some fixed $0 \leq p_0 \leq n$, $1 \leq q_0 \leq n$, or $M$ is a Kähler metric whose holomorphic bisectional curvature acting $(p,q)$-forms is positive; and 2) there exists a family of vector fields $T_\epsilon$ that are transverse to the boundary $b\Omega$ and generate one forms, which when applied to $(p,q)$-forms, $0 \leq p \leq n$ and $q_0 \leq q \leq n$, satisfy a "weak form" of the compactness estimate. We also provide examples and applications of our main theorems.

Abstract:We prove new Bernstein and Markov type inequalities in $L^p$ spaces associated with the normal and the tangential derivatives on the boundary of a general compact $C^\alpha$-domain with $1\leq \alpha\leq 2$. These estimates are also applied to establish Marcinkiewicz type inequalities for discretization of $L^p$ norms of algebraic polynomials on $C^\alpha$-domains with asymptotically optimal number of function samples used.

Abstract: This paper is devoted to various applications of Hardy-Sobolev type inequalities. We derive a new $L^2$ estimate for the $\bar{\partial}-$equation on ${\mathbb C}^n$ which yields a quantitative generalization of the Hartogs extension theorem to the case when the singularity set is not necessary compact. We show that for any negative subharmonic function $\psi$ on ${\mathbb R}^n$, $n>2$, the BMO norm of $\log |\psi|$ is bounded above by $2\sqrt{n-2}$ and $|\psi|^\gamma$ satisfies a reverse H\"older inequality for every $0<\gamma<1$. We also show that every plurisubharmonic function is locally BMO. Several Liouville theorems for subharmonic functions on complete Riemannian manifolds are given. As a consequence, we get a Margulis type theorem that if a bounded domain in ${\mathbb C}^n$ covers a Zariski open set in a projective algebraic variety, then the group of deck transformations of the covering has trivial center.

Abstract:For any $p \in ( 1, +\infty)$, we give a new inequality for the first nontrivial Neumann eigenvalue $\mu _ p (\Omega, \varphi)$ of the $p$-Laplacian on a convex domain $\Omega \subset \mathbb{R}^N$ with a power-concave weight $\varphi$. Our result improves the classical estimate in terms of the diameter, first stated in a seminal paper by Payne and Weinberger: we add in the lower bound an extra term depending on the second largest John semi-axis of $\Omega$ (equivalent to a power of the width in the special case $N = 2$). The power exponent in the extra term is sharp, and the constant in front of it is explicitly tracked, thus enlightening the interplay between space dimension, nonlinearity and power-concavity. Moreover, we attack the stability question: we prove that, if $\mu _ p (\Omega, \varphi)$ is close to the lower bound, then $\Omega$ is close to a thin cylinder, and $\varphi$ is close to a function which is constant along its axis. As intermediate results, we establish a sharp $L^ \infty$ estimate for the associated eigenfunctions, and we determine the asymptotic behaviour of $\mu _ p (\Omega, \varphi)$ for varying weights and domains, including the case of collapsing geometries.

Abstract:We study regularity of solutions $u$ to $\overline\partial u=f$ on a relatively compact $C^2$ domain $D$ in a complex manifold of dimension $n$, where $f$ is a $(0,q)$ form. Assume that there are either $(q+1)$ negative or $(n-q)$ positive Levi eigenvalues at each point of boundary $\partial D$. Under the necessary condition that a locally $L^2$ solution exists on the domain, we show the existence of the solutions on the closure of the domain that gain $1/2$ derivative when $q=1$ and $f$ is in the Hölder-Zygmund space $\Lambda^r(\overline D)$ with $r>1$. For $q>1$, the same regularity for the solutions is achieved when $\partial D$ is either sufficiently smooth or of $(n-q)$ positive Levi eigenvalues everywhere on $\partial D$.
