Abstract:Treatment of (E)-3-(4-azidophenyl)-and (E)-3-(2-azidophenyl) acrylic acid with N-halo-succinimides in the presence of LiOAc afforded high yields of phenylazides containing (E)-2-halovinyl group. Abstract:The reactions of α-bromoacetophenones with methylhydrazine in refluxing acetic acid generated 2-methyl-4-aryl-2H-[1,2,3]triazoles in good yields. The method was developed by the reactions of α-bromoacetophenones with phenylhydrazines in the presence of cupric ion, leading to 2,4-diary-2H-[1,2,3]triazoles. The structures were established on the basis of corresponding IR, 1H NMR, and elemental analysis data.

Abstract:We report the preparation of 1-(1-alkenyl)benzotriazoles from alkenyl (phenyl)iodonium salts and benzotriazole. The reaction offers a simple and convenient route for the stereoselective synthesis of 1-(1-alkenyl)benzotriazoles. In addition, present method is particularly efficient for preparing 1-(1-alkenyl)benzotriazoles with amino-, acyl- and alkoxycarbonyl substituents, which were difficult to prepare by conventional methods.

Abstract:A regio/stereoselective electrophilic addition of 1H-benzotriazole to aromatic alkynes induced by N-iodosuccinimide (NIS) has been achieved, providing unique access to 2-vinyl-2H-benzotriazole derivatives. It was demonstrated that the stereoselectivity is controlled by the nature of the substituents attached to the alkyne terminus. A mechanism involving cyclic iodonium and vinyl cation intermediates was proposed.

Abstract:A simple and efficient strategy for the chemoselective synthesis of (2 Z ,5 Z )-3-benzyl/alkyl-5-(2-oxo-5-arylfuran-3(2 H )-ylidene)-2-(phenylimino)thiazolidin-4-one derivatives is developed via a sequential three-component reaction of readily available phenacyl bromides, pyridine and methyl 2-(3-benzyl/alkyl-4-oxo-2-(phenylimino)thiazolidin-5-ylidene)acetates in acetonitrile at room temperature. The advantages of this one-pot sequential Michael addition/1,2-H shift/elimination of pyridine/intramolecular cyclization are highlighted by its low energy requirements (short reaction times at room temperature), excellent yields, the absence of a metal catalyst, and mild conditions. The product structures are characterized by spectroscopic techniques and single-crystal X-ray analysis. Abstract:A new one-pot, three component reaction involving the use of Julia reagent, aldehyde, and sodium azide was developed for the efficient synthesis of N-unsubstituted 1,2,3-triazoles. Abstract:A stereoselective N -alkenylation of azoles with alkynes and iodine(III) electrophile is reported. The reaction between various azoles and internal alkynes is mediated by benziodoxole triflate as the electrophile in a trans -fashion, affording azole-bearing vinylbenziodoxoles in moderate to good yields. The tolerable azole nuclei include pyrazole, indazole, 1,2,3-triazole, benzotriazole, and tetrazole. The iodanyl group in the product can be leveraged as a versatile synthetic handle, allowing for the preparation of hitherto inaccessible types of densely functionalized N -vinylazoles.
