Abstract:A novel bifunctional phosphine-catalyzed reaction was developed. Cross-Rauhut-Currier, Michael and aldol reactions were successfully combined into a domino process. This method offers a powerful approach to the construction of highly substituted cyclohexene skeletons.

Abstract:An efficient organophosphorus-mediated cross-Rauhut-Currier/Wittig domino reaction of vinyl ketones with chalcones has been developed for the synthesis of trisubstituted cyclopentenes. Abstract:Phosphine-catalyzed intermolecular sequential [4 + 3] domino annulation/allylic alkylation of MBH carbonates and N-tosyl azadienes is reported. A series of functionalized benzofuran-fused seven-membered nitrogen-heterocyclic compounds with one quaternary center were obtained in good to excellent yields. In this sequential reaction, three new bonds were formed in one pot, and the MBH carbonates serve as 1,2,3-C3 synthon and C1 synthon at the same time.

Abstract:An alternative route has been developed for the construction of multisubstituted pyrrole derivatives from readily available, doubly activated cyclopropanes and anilines using an iron-mediated oxidation domino reaction (i.e., sequential ring-opening, cyclization, and dehydrogenation reactions). This reaction uses readily available reactants and is tolerant of a broad range of substrates, with the desired products being formed in good to excellent yields.

Abstract:The Rauhut-Currier reaction has proved itself as a promising strategy for synthesis of multifunctionalized molecules, although still being in its infancy with regard to limitations of selectivity and scope. Considerable attention has thus been devoted to resolution of difficulties associated with controlling strategies and enantioselectivity. Carbocycles with distinct structural frameworks can be assembled rapidly through incorporation of cross-Rauhut-Currier reactions into domino processes. The fine compatibility and widespread utility of Rauhut-Currier reactions is illustrated with several recent outstanding examples, with the aim of shedding light on the design of new substrates and catalysts for syntheses of complex molecules.

Abstract:An efficient one-pot synthesis of highly functionalized bicyclic pyrrole derivatives by a three-component domino reaction of heterocyclic ketene aminals (HKAs), arylglyoxal monohydrate, and indoles in ethanol medium catalyzed by acetic acid is described. In this procedure, three sigma bonds were formed simultaneously. The present synthesis features excellent regio-selectivity, easy purification as well as simple starting materials.
