Abstract:Rapid access: A base-mediated cycloaddition/oxidation reaction of hydrazines and electron-deficient 1,3-conjugated enynes gives pyrazole derivatives, some of which are not easily accessible by other methods (see scheme). Abstract:Mediated by 2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyano-1,4-benzoquinone (DDQ), a novel oxidative coupling of hydrazones and 1,3-diarylpropenes has been disclosed to generate appealing β,γ-unsaturated hydrazones, which further undergo 5-exo-trig or 6-endo-trig cascade cyclization to give the respective 1,2-dihydropyridazines or pyrazoles selectively under metal-free conditions. The mechanisms of the coupling and subsequent cyclization are proposed.

Abstract:An Et3N-catalyzed tandem reaction of electron-deficient 1,3-conjugated enynes with hydroxylamines was developed which provided rapid, metal-free, and regioselective access to highly substituted multifunctionalized 2,3-dihydroisoxazoles under mild conditions. The reactions of 3-(2-arylethynyl)-4H-chromen-4-ones with hydroxylamines afford beta-amino enones under the same reaction conditions.

Abstract:An I2-mediated metal-free oxidative C-N bond formation methodology has been established for the regioselective pyrazole synthesis.
