Abstract:A new efficient and convenient approach toward the synthesis of pyrazoles is described. Through a Lewis acid catalyzed union of 3-ethoxycyclobutanones with monosubstituted hydrazines, a variety of pyrazole derivatives were prepared readily at ambient temperature with complete regioselectivity.

Abstract:The reactions of α-bromoacetophenones with methylhydrazine in refluxing acetic acid generated 2-methyl-4-aryl-2H-[1,2,3]triazoles in good yields. The method was developed by the reactions of α-bromoacetophenones with phenylhydrazines in the presence of cupric ion, leading to 2,4-diary-2H-[1,2,3]triazoles. The structures were established on the basis of corresponding IR, 1H NMR, and elemental analysis data.

Abstract:An efficient and general method for the synthesis of 3-trifluoromethyl-4 trifluoroacetyl pyrazoles from the cycloaddition of sydnones with 1,1,1,5,5,5-hexafluoropentane-2,4-dione has been established. Using ZnI2/bpy as a catalyst in THF, this protocol proved to be general to prepare a variety of 3-trifluoromethyl-4 trifluoroacetyll pyrazoles in good yields. Utility of this method was demonstrated by further transformations of the trifluoroacetyl moiety providing convenient access to 3 trifluoromethyl pyrazole-based carboxylic acid and alcohol derivatives. Abstract:A regioselective and convenient method for the synthesis of fully substituted pyrazole derivatives was developed from the 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction of nitrile imine generated in situ from hydrazonoyl chloride and Et3N with 1,4-benzothiazin-3(4H)-one. Abstract:An unprecedented ruthenium(II)-catalyzed intramolecular oxidative C-N coupling method has been developed for the facile synthesis of a variety of synthetically challenging tri- and tetrasubstituted pyrazoles. Dioxygen gas is employed as the oxidant in this transformation. The reaction demonstrates excellent reactivity, functional group tolerance, and high yields.

Abstract:Multisubstituted pyrazoles were efficiently synthesized by cyclocondensation of β-thioalkyl-α,β-unsaturated ketones with hydrazines under relatively mild conditions. A one-pot synthetic protocol through tandem Liebeskind–Srogl cross-coupling/cyclocondensation using α-oxo ketene dithioacetals as the starting materials was also realized for the same purpose.

Abstract:A simple and novel method to the synthesis of 3-fluoro-4-aryl-2-pyridone from a Michael-adduct of fluoronitroacetate and α,β-unsaturated ketone is reported. Abstract:A novel and efficient copper-catalyzed domino cyanation/cyclization of hydrazone-tethered unactivated olefins has been developed. A range of cyano-containing pyrazolines have been easily obtained in good yields under mild conditions. This method provides a facile, practical, and rapid access to valuable pyrazolines with the important cyano functionality, and it is amenable for gram scale synthesis. The simultaneous formation of C(sp(3))-CN and C-N bonds can be achieved in a single step.
