Abstract:A series of novel N ‐(4‐(2‐aryloxythiazol‐5‐yl)but‐3‐yn‐2‐yl)benzamide derivatives were designed and synthesized. Their structures were identified by 1 H NMR and elemental analyses. Preliminary bioassays indicated that some title compounds provided >80% control of Sclerotinia sclerotiorum at 50 µg/mL and >70% herbicidal activities against B. campestris at 100 µg/mL. Their structure‐activities relationships were also discussed.

Abstract:Several new 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives containing a pyrazole ring were designed and synthesized from ethyl acetoacetate and triethyl orthoformate as starting materials via multi-step reactions. The compound structures were confirmed by melting point, 1 H NMR and HRMS. They were evaluated for fungicidal and herbicidal activities. Four of the compounds exhibited moderate fungicidal activity against Colletotrichum species. Most of the compounds had moderate-to-good activity as a herbicide.

Abstract:Eleven new thiazol-containing 1H-1,2,4-triazole derivatives were designed and synthesized by utilizing 3,3-dimethylbutan-2-one as starting material. Their structures were characterized by IR, H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR, and elemental analysis. Furthermore, some compounds' structures were confirmed with MS and X-ray diffraction and the biological activities of these compounds were evaluated, including in vitro fungicidal and plant-growth regulatory activities. The primary bioassay results indicated that these compounds showed low antifungal activities while exhibited promising plant-growth regulatory activities.

Abstract:A series of novel quinazolin-4(3H)-one derivatives 3a similar to 3e and 4a possessing 3,4-benzo[c] coumarin and amino side chain were designed and synthesized by the condensation reaction of 2-aminobenzamide and 3,4-benzo[ c] coumarin aldehyde prepared by Heck coupling reaction, followed by S(N)2 substitution reaction with haloalkane. The compounds were evaluated for their anti proliferation activities against four tumor cells and antimicrobial activities. The results showed that 3e showed moderate anti Hela activity with the IC50 value of 22.63 and 23.35 mu mol/L for 4a against MCF-7. Most tested compounds exhibited significant anti Escherichia coli activities, and the inhibition rate was above 89% at the concentration of 50 mu g/mL. The inhibition rates of 2-phenyl-4-(2-(piperidin-1-yl) ethoxy) quinazoline (1b) against Fusarium oxysporum and Rhizoctonia solani and 3d against Verticillium dahliae are 100%.

Abstract:To find new lead compounds with muti-bioactivities, a series of novel 1,3-thiazole-5-carboxylic acid derivatives containing aryloxyacetate were designed via the method of linking active sub-structures, in which the aryloxyacetate with multi-bioactivity was combined to the 1,3-thiazole moiety of ethaboxam, metsulfovax and thifluzamide. The target compounds were synthesized from beta-keto acid ester and 4-hydroxybenzothioamide in 6 steps. Their structures were confirmed by H-1 NMR, IR and HRMS techniques. The preliminary bioassay results indicated that some compounds showed obvious inhibition effects against Fusarium graminearum, and the fungicidal activity of 1j is 52% at 50 mu g/mL.

Abstract:Nine novel types of 2-(1,2-benzisothiazol-3-yloxy)-N-(1-aryl-3-cyanopyrazol-5-yl)-acetamides were synthesized, and their inhibition effects on selected bacteria (heterotrophic bacteria) and algae (marine chlorella) were evaluated. Results showed that 2-(1,2-benzisothiazol-3-yloxy)-N-(3-cyano-1-(2,4-dimethylphenyl)pyrazol-5-yl) acetamide achieved the highest yield of 81% with good bioactivity against heterotrophic bacteria and marine chlorella. Abstract:Nine novel 1,2,4-triazine derivatives bearing benzimidazole moiety have been synthesized by condensation of 2-aryloxymethylbenzimidazole-1-acetylhydrazines with various substituted phenacyl bromides.The structures were confirmed by IR,1HNMR spectra and elemental analysis.These compounds were screened based on anticancer and anti-diabetic activities.The results indicated that most compounds exhibited high activities against Cdc25B phosphatase with the inhibitory rate in the range of 58%~93%,and compounds 3-[(2-phenoxymethyl)benzimidazole-1-methylene]-6-(4-methoxylphenyl)-1,2,4-triazine and 3-[(2-phenoxymethyl)benzimidazole-1-methylene]-6-biphenyl-1,2,4-triazine showed high activities against PTP1B with the inhibitory rate 59.99% and 87.47%,respectively.The target compounds could be used as potential anti-cancer and anti-diabetes reagents.

Abstract:A novel series of 3,6-disubstituted 1,2,4-triazolo[3,4-b]-1,3,4-thiadiazoles were synthesized by the condensation of 4-amino-5-[2-(4-chlorophenoxymethylbenzimidazole)-1-methylene]-3-mercapto-1,2,4-triazole with various (un)substituted aromatic acids in the presence of phosphorous oxychloride. These compounds were investigated for their inhibitory activity to E. coli methionine aminopeptidase (EcMetAP1). Some of the tested compounds showed significant inhibitory activity.

Abstract:A novel series of the benzimidazole or benzothiazole phenyl ester derivatives of ursolic acid 4a similar to 4h were prepared via ursolic acid, substituted benzaldehyde, and o-phenylendiamine or 2-aminothiophenol. The compounds were structurally confirmed by H-1 NMR, IR and FIRMS techniques. The preliminary bioassay test demonstrated that compounds 4d and 4g had potent anti-inflammatory activity.

Abstract:A series of novel 2-amino-1,3-thiazole-4-carboxylic acid derivatives were designed and synthesized. Their structures were confirmed by melting points, IR, H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR, and HRMS or elemental analysis. Biological activities of all title compounds including fungicidal activity and antivirus activity were evaluated systematically. Preliminary bioassays indicated that these compounds exhibited good fungicidal activity at 50 mu g/mL, compounds 4b and 4i exhibited over 50% activity against six fungi tested. Most compounds showed good activity against TMV with different models in vivo at 100 mu g/mL. Compounds 4c and 4e stood out with high effects against TMV in vivo in all models tested, including protective, inactivative, curative, and inductive activities. Abstract:Novel 1-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-3-[4-aryl-5-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)thiazol-2-yl] urea derivatives were synthesized by the reaction of 2-amino-4-sustituted phentyl-5-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl) thiazoles with 2,4-dichloro-1-isocyanatobenzene. Structures of the title compounds were confirmed by the elemental analysis, 1H NMR, and single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Abstract:A series of novel 3-bromo-1-(3-chloropyridin-2-yl)-N-hydroxy-N-aryl-1H-pyrazole-5-carboxamides was synthesized by the reaction of pyrazole carbonyl chloride with each of substituted phenylhydroxyamines. The latter ones were prepared in good yields by reducing substituted nitrobenzene compounds with Zn/NH4Cl reductant system in alcohol. Structures of the title compounds were determined by IR, 1H NMR, and HRMS. Their insecticidal and fungicidal activities were evaluated by larvicidal test against oriental armyworm and the mycelium growth rate method, respectively.

Abstract:Eighteen novel compounds of 2,5-disubstituted-1,3,4-oxadiazoles containing benzimidazole moiety were synthesized from 1H-benzimidazole-2-carbohydrazide, carbon disulfide and alkyl halide or benzyl halide by multi-step reactions. The structures of the target compounds were confirmed by IR, H-1-NMR spectra and elemental analyses. Preliminary antifungal activities against Botrytis cinerea and Sclerotinia sclerotiorum were also evaluated by the mycelium growth rate method, and the results indicated that many target compounds possess excellent antifungal activity, even higher than the control fungicide (carbendazim). Abstract:The reactions of 1-aryl-3-methyl-5-chloro-1H-4-pyrazolylformaldehydes (2) with aroylhydrazines and followed by the addition of mercaptoacetic acid, eleven new compounds 2-(1-aryl-3-methyl-5chloro-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)-3-(1-aroylamino)-4-thiazolidinones 3asimilar to3k have been synthesized. Their structures were characterized by elemental analysis, IR and H-1 NMR spectra, and one of them 3d by X-ray diffraction study. The preliminary bioassay tests showed that compound 3e possessed moderate fungicidal activity and 3e and 3k only exhibited certain herbicidal activity.
