Abstract:OBJECTIVE：To improve the synthesis of aromatic nitriles.METHOD:Aromatic aldehydes were converted into aromatic nitriles by the ammonium chloride,copper powder,oxygen system in pyridine.RESULTS:Ten aromatic nitriles were synthesized by this method.CONCLUSION:Compared with literatures,this method has following merits:reagents are very convenient and not expensive,operation is simple and the yield is good.

Abstract:A highly efficient catalytic system for the N‐arylation reactions of (hetero)aryl chlorides and nitrogen heterocycles with a copper(I) complex containing a 1,10‐phenanthroline analogue N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) has been reported. The complex was characterized by 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy and elemental analysis, and its structure was determined by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. The NHC‐copper(I) complex was employed as pre‐catalyst for Ullmann type N‐arylation reactions of (hetero)aryl chlorides with various azoles. A variety of hindered and functionalized azoles and (hetero)aryl chlorides were transformed in good to excellent yields.This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.

Abstract:A novel, efficient, and practical method for the synthesis of imidazopyridine derivatives has been developed through the copper-catalyzed aerobic oxidative CH functionalization of substituted pyridines with N-(alkylidene)-4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-amines. The procedure occurs by cleavage of the NN bond in the N-(alkylidene)-4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-amines and activation of an aryl CH bond in the substituted pyridines. This is the first example of the preparation of imidazopyridine derivatives by using pyridines as the substrates by transition-metal-catalyzed CH functionalization. This method should provide a novel and efficient strategy for the synthesis of other nitrogen heterocycles.

Abstract:A catalyst system derived from CuSO4 and pyrazinamide has been used to promote the coupling reaction of aryl halides and imidazole. Herein, pyrazinamide (L1) was used as a powerful ligand to promote a CuSO4‐catalyzed reaction between aryl halides and imidazole (HID) under mild conditions, generating various N‐arylation products in good to excellent yields. The findings indicate that CuSO4 was reduced and coordinated with L1 to form [CuIL1], which activated ArX to produce [ArCuIL1X] through oxidative addition. This intermediate subsequently underwent reductive elimination to form N‐arylation products, with [ArCuILID] being generated from a reaction between [ArCuIL1X] and HID. This method was successfully extended to the synthesis of 2‐phenylindole and pyrrolo[1,2‐a]quinoxaline under mild conditions. The method significantly enhances the efficiency and cost effectiveness of C‐N coupling reaction.

Abstract:A simple and facile protocols for copper-catalyzed regionselective C4 nitration and azidation of 1-naphthylamines via remote C-H activation that use of pyridyl amide fragment as the removable directing group have been firstly developed. These reactions proceed under mild conditions without any additives, tolerate a wide variety of functional groups, and afford a wide range of products in good to excellent yields. Control experiments suggest that those C-H activation reactions are likely to proceed through a single-electron-transfer (SET) process.

Abstract:The first asymmetric decarboxylative [4 + 3] annulation of propargylic carbamates with C, N-cyclic azomethine imines has been developed successfully by a copper- N-heterocyclic carbine system. This strategy led to a series of optically active isoquinoline-fused triazepine derivatives in good yields and with excellent enantio- and diastereoselectivities. Remarkably, Cu-allenylidene intermediates play a crucial role in this transformation.
