Abstract:A simple, convenient and green synthetic approach to diverse fused tricyclic benzimidazoles has been developed by Ag(I) complex catalyzed intramolecular hydroamination under the classic method or by microwave irradiation in water. This strategy presents an operationally simple and environmentally friendly transformation, in which various substituted benzimidazoles facilitated efficient cyclization.

Abstract:A silver-catalyzed Minisci-type acylation reaction is reported here. Acylation of electron-deficient N-heterocycles is achieved in aqueous solution through dehydrogenation cross-coupling of aldehydes and N-heteroarenes in open air without external Brønsted acid. Selectfluor® is used as a mild oxidant. This method has been successfully employed in acylation of a variety of N-heteroarenes with aldehydes. This strategy provides an efficient and mild method for acylation of N-heteroarenes.

Abstract:An efficient process based on the gold-catalyzed redox reaction has been developed to oxidize 1,2-diarylacetylene or ynamide to 1,2-diaryldiketone or α-keto imide respectively. This process can tolerate a variety of functional groups and affords 1,2-dicarbonyl compounds in excellent yields under mild reaction conditions.

Abstract:The difunctionalization of terminal alkynes was achieved with silver fluoride (AgF) and N-bromosuccinimide (NBS) as halogen sources. The presence of the halide moiety greatly enhances the reactivity of the vinyl fluoride compounds that can probably can be transformed into various products that are difficult or even impossible to obtain via direct fluorination. Meanwhile, the monofluoro <.> alkenes were facilely synthesized via a highly chemo- and regioselective fluorination of electron-deficient C C triple bonds using AgF as fluorinating reagent in good yields.

Abstract:In this work, a mechanistic study of silver-catalyzed oxidative aminofluorination of alkynyl-imine has been carried out. Kinetic data support a reaction pathway involving fast amination of alkyne to mesoionic carbene silver complexes (MIC)(n)Ag(I) (n = 1 or 2). The rate-determining step of the reaction is the fluorination of the Ag species supported by a single MIC.
