Abstract:An iridium(III)-catalyzed ortho-C(sp(2))-H amidation of O-methyl ketoximes with sulfonamides has been accomplished under mild conditions. This protocol can be successfully applied to a broad scope of oxime substrates and works well with a range of aryl- and alkylsulfonamides.

Abstract:Rh(III)-catalyzed C(sp(3)) - H bond aminocarbonylation of 8-methylquinolines and isocyanates has been realized under mild conditions. This approach is applicable to different aryl and alkyl isocyanates, leading to the synthesis of various alpha-quinolinyl amide compounds in moderate to excellent yields. A plausible mechanism for this transformation is proposed according to the experimental results obtained.

Abstract:Promoted by CuCl/CCl4, a variety of sulfonyl azides and tertiary amines were successfully coupled to give sulfonyl amidine derivatives in good to excellent yields. A possible mechanism for this reaction is discussed.

Abstract:Well‐defined zinc‐bis(imino)pyridine complexes are used as catalysts in intermolecular amidation of benzylic C(sp3)−H bond. Various amidated products were synthesized using benzylic substrates in moderate to good yields from this catalytic process. Efficient NNN‐pincer type bis(imino)pyridine ligand based zinc(II) catalyzed intermolecular amidation of benzylic hydrocarbons with sulfonamides has been developed. The zinc complexes were synthesized by the reaction of bis(imino)pyridine ligand with zinc(II) precursors such as Zn(OAc)2 ⋅ 2H2Oand ZnBr2. The structure of the bis(imino)pyridine‐Zn(OAc)2 complex was characterized by single crystal X‐ray diffraction. The zinc(II)‐bis(imino)pyridine complexes were utilized as catalysts for the intermolecular amidation of benzylic C(sp3)−H bond in the presence of N‐bromosuccinimide (NBS) as an oxidant. A broad range of substrates delivered the products in moderate to good yields. This protocol provides the synthesis of various amides viaC−H activation.

Abstract:A selective copper(I)-catalyzed benzylic C(sp3)–H geminal difunctionalization reaction of a benzylic-type sp3 carbon was developed. This novel strategy allowed simultaneous introduction of amide and hydroxyl group in a highly selective and efficient way via successive oxidative intramolecular amidation and hydroxylation. This method was also applied to the synthesis of 3-hydroxy-2,3-dihydro-1H-pyrrolo[3,4-b]quinoxalinones from readily available 3-methyl-N-substituted quinoxaline-2-carboxamides in moderate to good yields. The five-membered cyclic hemiaminal moiety of the pyrrolo[3,4-b]quinoxalinones can serve as an intermediates for subsequent transformations into other useful functional groups.

Abstract:We have developed a novel copper-catalyzed amidation of unactivated sp(3) C-H bonds adjacent to a nitrogen atom by using an inexpensive catalyst-oxidant (CuBr/(BuOOH)-Bu-t) system under mild conditions. The dephenylation was first found for N-benzylaniline, and the new class of products provide diverse structures for pharmaceuticals and combinatorial chemistry.

Abstract:An efficient transition-metal-free intermolecular benzylic amidation with sulfonamides is described. Various valuable nitrogen-containing compounds, including amines, beta-chloro amine, amino alcohol, alpha-, beta-amino ester, and N-sulfonyl imine, are generated from the preferential N-functionalization of saturated benzylic C-H bonds. The potential of this reaction system also lies in the fact it can be developed into an environmentally friendly intermolecular amidation process.

Abstract:A new strategy for the sequential formation of aryl and amidyl C-N bonds is reported. Using trichloroethoxysulfonyl azide as a bifunctional nitrogen source, Ir-catalyzed aryl C-H sulfonamidation and subsequent desulfonative amide formation proceed effectively without any need of oxidants or coupling reagents. This protocol is suitable for readily available benzamides and stable carboxylates including primary, secondary, and tertiary alkyl, alkenyl, and phenyl carboxylates, thereby providing a direct and efficient method for the synthesis of biologically and chemically useful N-arylamides.

Abstract:A highly efficient method for the C-N bond formation via 2 mol% of molecular iodine-catalysed amidation reaction of benzylic and allylic alcohols with carboxamides or sulfonamides in MeCN is described, giving the corresponding substituted amides and allylic amides in moderate to excellent yields. The significan features of the procedure include mild and metal-free reaction conditions, operational simplicity, inexpensive reagents, short reaction time, and good yields.
