Abstract:In LM, we proved a family version of the famous Witten rigidity theorems and several family vanishing theorems for elliptic genera. In this paper, we gerenalize our theorems LM in two directions. First we establish a family rigidity theorem for the Dirac operator on loop space twisted by general positive energy loop group representations. Second we prove a family rigidity theorem for spin^c-manifolds. Several vanishing theorems on both cases are also obtained.

Abstract:We extend our family rigidity and vanishing theorems in [LiuMaZ] to the Spin c case.In particular, we prove a ^-theory version of the main results of [H], [Liul, Theorem B] for a family of almost complex manifolds.0. Introduction.Let M, B be two compact smooth manifolds, and TT : M -» B be a smooth fibration with compact fibre X.Let TX be the relative tangent bundle.Assume that a compact Lie group G acts fiberwise on M, that is, the action preserves each fiber of TT.Let P be a family of G-equivariant elliptic operators along the fiber X.Then the family index of P, Ind(P), is a well-defined element in K(B) (cf.[AS]) and is a virtual G-representation (cf.[LiuMal]).We denote by (Ind(P)) G £ K(B) the G-invariant part of Ind(P).A family of elliptic operator P is said to be rigid on the equivariant Chern character level with respect to this G-action, if the equivariant Chern character ch 5 (Ind(P)) G H*(B) is independent of g G G. Abstract:This paper is devoted to rigidity of smooth bundles which are equipped with fiberwise geometric or dynamical structure. We show that the fiberwise associated sphere bundle to a bundle whose leaves are equipped with (continuously varying) metrics of negative curvature is a topologically trivial bundle when either the base space is simply connected or, more generally, when the bundle is fiber homotopically trivial. We present two very different proofs of this result: a geometric proof and a dynamical proof. We also establish a number of rigidity results for bundles which are equipped with fiberwise Anosov dynamical systems. Finally, we present several examples which show that our results are sharp in certain ways or illustrate necessity of various assumptions.

Abstract:I provide an explicit construction of spectral curves for the affine $\mathrm{E}_8$ relativistic Toda chain. Their closed form expression is obtained by determining the full set of character relations in the representation ring of $\mathrm{E}_8$ for the exterior algebra of the adjoint representation; this is in turn employed to provide an explicit construction of both integrals of motion and the action-angle map for the resulting integrable system. I consider two main areas of applications of these constructions. On the one hand, I consider the resulting family of spectral curves in the context of the correspondences between Toda systems, 5d Seiberg-Witten theory, Gromov-Witten theory of orbifolds of the resolved conifold, and Chern-Simons theory to establish a version of the B-model Gopakumar-Vafa correspondence for the $\mathrm{sl}_N$ Lê-Murakami-Ohtsuki invariant of the Poincaré integral homology sphere to all orders in $1/N$. On the other, I consider a degenerate version of the spectral curves and prove a 1-dimensional Landau-Ginzburg mirror theorem for the Frobenius manifold structure on the space of orbits of the extended affine Weyl group of type $\mathrm{E}_8$ introduced by Dubrovin-Zhang (equivalently, the orbifold quantum cohomology of the type-$\mathrm{E}_8$ polynomial $\mathbb{C} P^1$ orbifold). This leads to closed-form expressions for the flat co-ordinates of the Saito metric, the prepotential, and a higher genus mirror theorem based on the Chekhov-Eynard-Orantin recursion. I will also show how the constructions of the paper lead to a generalisation of a conjecture of Norbury-Scott to ADE $\mathbb{P}^1$-orbifolds, and a mirror of the Dubrovin-Zhang construction for all Weyl groups and choices of marked roots.

Abstract:This paper classifies the Dirac series of $E_{8(-24)}$, the linear quaternionic real form of complex $E_8$. One tool for us is a further sharpening of the Helgason-Johnson bound in 1969. Our calculation continues to support Vogan's fundamental parallelepiped conjecture.

Abstract:We establish several Witten type rigidity and vanishing theorems for twisted Toeplitz operators on odd dimensional manifolds. We obtain our results by combining the modular method, modular transgression and some careful analysis of odd Chern classes for cocycles in odd K-theory. Moreover we discover that in odd dimensions, the fundamental group of manifolds plays an important role in the rigidity.

Abstract:We discuss topological rigidity of vector bundles with asymptotically conical (AC) total spaces of rank greater than 1 with a sufficiently connected link; our focus will mainly be on ALE (asymptotically locally Euclidean) bundles. Within the smooth category, we topologically classify all ALE tangent bundles by showing only 2-sphere, projective plane and open contractible manifolds admit ALE tangent bundles. We also discuss other interesting topological and geometric rigidities of ALE vector bundles.

Abstract:In this paper we prove an initial data rigidity result à la Eichmair, Galloway and Mendes (<a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2009.09527" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2009.09527">arXiv:2009.09527</a>) using Dirac operator techniques. It applies to initial data sets on spin bands that satisfy the dominant energy condition, a boundary condition for the future null expansion scalar and the $\hat{A}$-obstruction for positive scalar curvature on one of the boundary pieces. Interestingly, these bands turn out to carry lightlike imaginary $W$-Killing spinors, which are connected to Lorentzian special holonomy and moduli spaces of Ricci-flat metrics. We also obtain slight generalizations of known rigidity results on Riemannian bands.

Abstract:In this note we prove three rigidity results for Einstein manifolds with bounded covering geometry. (1) An almost flat manifold $(M,g)$ must be flat if it is Einstein, i.e. $\operatorname{Ric}_g=\lambda g$ for some real number $\lambda$. (2) A compact Einstein manifolds with a non-vanishing and almost maximal volume entropy is hyperbolic. (3) A compact Einstein manifold admitting a uniform local rewinding almost maximal volume is isometric to a space form.

Abstract:By exploiting the conformality of a warped product metric with a direct product metric, we develop a new connection on a twisted spinor bundle and its associated Dirac operator. We obtain a Llarull type scalar curvature rigidity for a general class of domains in a warped product. Also, we are able to address Gromov dihedral rigidity in hyperbolic space assuming matching angles.
