Abstract:In this paper, we study the regularity of convex solutions to the Dirichlet problem of the homogeneous Monge-Ampere equation det D(2)u = 0. We prove that if the domain is a strip region and the boundary functions are locally uniformly convex and C-k+2,C-alpha smooth, then the solution is C-k+2,C-alpha smooth up to boundary. By an example, we show the solution may fail to be C-2 smooth if boundary functions are not locally uniformly convex. Similar results have also been obtained for the Dirichlet problem on bounded convex domains.

Abstract:We derive interior curvature bounds for admissible solutions of a class of curvature equations subject to affine Dirichlet data, generalizing a well-known estimate of Pogorelov for equations of Monge-Ampere type. For equations for which convexity of the solution is the natural ellipticity assumption, the curvature bound is proved for solutions with C-1,C-1 Dirichlet data. We also use the curvature bounds to improve and extend various existence results for the Dirichlet and Plateau problems.

Abstract:This paper establishes interior estimates for Lp-norms, Orlicz norms of solutions to the parabolic Monge–Ampère equation −utdetD2u=f(x,t) provided that f(x,t) is positive, bounded, and satisfies a VMO-type condition, and some integrability conditions for ft. Our results improve the corresponding results in Gutiérrez and Huang (2001) [8] in some sense.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove the regularity of the free boundary in the Monge-Amp\`ere obstacle problem $\det D^2 v= f(y)\chi_{\{v>0\}}. $ By duality, the regularity of the free boundary is equivalent to that of the asymptotic cone of the solution to the singular Monge-Amp\`ere equation $\det D^2 u = 1/f (Du)+\delta_0$ at the origin. We first establish an asymptotic estimate for the solution $u$ near the singular point, then use a partial Legendre transform to change the Monge-Amp\`ere equation to a singular, fully nonlinear elliptic equation, and establish the regularity of solutions to the singular elliptic equation.

Abstract:We study the good shape property of boundary sections of convex solutions of the oblique boundary value problem for Monge-Ampère equations $$\det D^2u =f(x) \text{ in } \Omega , \quad D_{\beta}u = \phi(x) \text{ on } \partial \Omega.$$ In the two-dimensional case, we prove the global $C^{2,\alpha}$ estimate for the solution. When the dimension $n \geq 3$, we show that this estimate still holds if the solution is bounded from above by a quadratic function in the tangent direction. We also obtain an existence result for the convex solution of Monge-Ampère equations with Robin oblique boundary conditions.

Abstract:We consider smooth solutions of the Monge–Ampère equation on an annular domain, whose boundary consists of two smooth, closed, strictly convex hypersurfaces, subject to mixed boundary conditions. In particular we impose a homogeneous Dirichlet condition on the outer boundary and a Neumann condition on the inner boundary. We demonstrate that in general, global C 2 estimates cannot be obtained unless we impose extra restrictions on the principal curvatures of the inner boundary and on the Neumann condition itself. The latter is illustrated by the construction of an explicit counterexample. Under these conditions, we prove a priori C 2 estimates and show that our problem admits a smooth solution.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the following singular Monge–Ampère equation(0.1){det⁡D2u=1(Hu)n+k+2u⁎kinΩ⊂⊂Rn,u=0,on∂Ω where k≥0, H<0 are constants and u⁎=x⋅∇u(x)−u(x) is the Legendre transformation of u. Equation (0.1) is related to proper affine hyperspheres. We will show the existence of solutions of (0.1) u∈C∞(Ω)∩C(Ω¯) via regularization method. Using the technique in [10], [12], we also obtain the optimal graph regularity of the solution of (0.1).

Abstract:Abstract In this article, we consider the parabolic equations with nonlocal Monge-Ampère operators ∂ u ∂ t ( x , t ) − D s θ u ( x , t ) = f ( u ( x , t ) ) , ( x , t ) ∈ R + n × R . \frac{\partial u}{\partial t}\left(x,t)-{D}_{s}^{\theta }u\left(x,t)=f\left(u\left(x,t)),\hspace{1.0em}\left(x,t)\in {{\mathbb{R}}}_{+}^{n}\times {\mathbb{R}}. We first prove the narrow region principle and maximal principle for antisymmetric functions, under the condition that u u is uniformly bounded, which weaken the general decay condition u → 0 u\to 0 at infinity. Then, the monotonicity of positive solutions is established using the method of moving planes.

Abstract:We consider non-negative, weak solutions to the doubly nonlinear parabolic equation $$ \partial_t u^q-\mbox{div}(|Du|^{p-2}Du)=0 $$ in the super-critical fast diffusion regime $0<p-1<q<\frac{N(p-1)}{(N-p)_+}$. We show that when solutions vanish continuously at the Lipschitz boundary of a parabolic cylinder $\Omega_T$, they satisfy proper Carleson estimates. Assuming further regularity for the boundary of the domain $\Omega_T$, we obtain a power-like decay at the boundary and a boundary Harnack inequality.

Abstract:The Liouville type theorem on the parabolic Monge–Ampère equation − u t det D 2 u = 1 states that any entire parabolically convex classical solution must be of form − t + | x | 2 / 2 up to a re-scaling and transformation, under additional assumption that partial derivative with respect to time variable u t is strictly negative and bounded. In this paper, we study the case when u t is unbounded, prove an existence result of entire parabolically convex smooth solution and investigate the asymptotic behavior near infinity.

Abstract:We characterize regular boundary points in terms of a barrier family for a general form of a parabolic equation that generalizes both the standard parabolic $p$-Laplace equation and the normalized version arising from stochastic game theory. Using this result we prove geometric conditions that ensure regularity by constructing suitable barrier families. We also prove that when $q<2$, a single barrier does not suffice to guarantee regularity.

Abstract:In this paper we study the Dirichlet problem of a class of nonlinear elliptic equations which includes Monge–Ampère equation, K-Hessian equation and the usual linear elliptic equation.
