We use new techniques introduced by Bo Guan and derive new results for a priori second order estimates of its singular perturbation problem under fairly general conditions. Abstract:We study equilibrium problem on general Riemannian manifolds, focusing on existence of solutions and the convexity properties of the solution set. Our approach consists in relating the equilibrium problem to a suitable variational inequality problem on Riemannian manifolds, and is completely different from previous ones on this topic in the literature. We apply our results to the mixed variational inequality and the Nash equilibrium problem. Moreover, we formulate and analyze the convergence of the proximal point algorithm for the equilibrium problem. In particular, correct proofs are provided for the results claimed in J. Math. Anal. Appl. 388 (2012) 61–77 (i.e., Theorems 3.5 and 4.9 there) regarding the existence of the mixed variational inequality and the domain of the resolvent for the equilibrium problem on Hadamard manifolds.

Abstract:This paper investigates the relation between the boundary geometricproperties and the boundary regularity of the solutions of elliptic equations.We prove by a new unified method the pointwise boundary Hölder regularityunder proper geometric conditions. "Unified" means that our method isapplicable for the Laplace equation, linear elliptic equations in divergenceand non-divergence form, fully nonlinear elliptic equations, the p-Laplaceequations and the fractional Laplace equations etc. In addition, thesegeometric conditions are quite general. In particular, for local equations, themeasure of the complement of the domain near the boundary point concerned couldbe zero. The key observation in the method is that the strong maximum principleimplies a decay for the solution, then a scaling argument leads to theHölder regularity. Moreover, we also give a geometric condition, whichguarantees the solvability of the Dirichlet problem for the Laplace equation.The geometric meaning of this condition is more apparent than that of theWiener criterion.

Abstract:Smooth solutions to the axially symmetric Navier-Stokes equations obey the following maximum principle: parallel to ru(theta) (r, z, t)parallel to(L infinity) <= parallel to ru(theta) (r, z, 0)parallel to(L infinity). We first prove the global regularity of solutions if parallel to ru(theta) (r, z, 0)parallel to(L infinity) or parallel to ru(theta) (r, z, t)parallel to(L infinity(r <= r0)) is small compared with certain dimensionless quantity of the initial data. This result improves the one in Zhen Lei and Qi S. Zhang [10]. As a corollary, we also prove the global regularity under the assumption that} vertical bar ru(theta)(r,z,t)vertical bar <= vertical bar ln r vertical bar(-3/2), for all 0 < r <= delta(0) is an element of (0,1/2). Abstract:In this paper, we prove the regularity of the free boundary in the Monge-Amp\`ere obstacle problem $\det D^2 v= f(y)\chi_{\{v>0\}}. $ By duality, the regularity of the free boundary is equivalent to that of the asymptotic cone of the solution to the singular Monge-Amp\`ere equation $\det D^2 u = 1/f (Du)+\delta_0$ at the origin. We first establish an asymptotic estimate for the solution $u$ near the singular point, then use a partial Legendre transform to change the Monge-Amp\`ere equation to a singular, fully nonlinear elliptic equation, and establish the regularity of solutions to the singular elliptic equation.

Abstract:We prove some regularity results for a priori bounded local minimizers of non-autonomous integral functionals of the form $$\mathcal{F}(v,\Omega)=\int_\Omega F(x,Dv)dx,$$ under the constraint $v \ge \psi$ a.e. in $\Omega$, where $\psi$ is a fixed obstacle function. Assuming that the coefficients of the partial map $x \mapsto D_\xi F(x,\xi)$ satisfy a suitable Sobolev regularity, we are able to obtain higher differentiability and Lipschitz continuity results for the local minimizers.

Abstract:We study the regularity of the viscosity solution to the fully nonlinear parabolic thin obstacle problem. In particular, we prove that the solution is local $H^{1+\alpha}$ on each side of the smooth obstacle, for some small $\alpha>0.$ Following the method which was first introduced for the harmonic case by Caffarelli in 1979, we extend the results of Fern\'{a}ndez-Real (2016) who treated the fully nonlinear elliptic case. Our results also extend those of Chatzigeorgiou (2019) in two ways. First, we do not assume solutions nor operators to be symmetric. Second, our estimates are local, in the sense that do not rely on the boundary data.
