Abstract:In the title one-dimensional complex, [[Mn(III)(C9H10NO2)2]Cl]n, the Schiff base ligand 2-[(2-hydroxyethyl)iminomethyl]phenolate (Hsae-) functions as both a bridging and a chelating ligand. The Mn(III) ion is six-coordinated by two N and four O atoms from four different Hsae- ligands, yielding a distorted MnO4N2 octahedral environment. Each [Mn(III)(Hsae)2]+ cationic unit has the Mn atom on an inversion centre and each [Mn(III)(Hsae)2]+ cation lies about another inversion centre. The chain-like complex is further extended into a three-dimensional network structure through Cl...H-O hydrogen bonds and C-H...pi contacts involving the Hsae- rings.

Abstract:The title Mn-II complex, [Mn(C8H4O4)(C6H6N4S2)(H2O)(2)]. 2H(2)O, assumes a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry formed by 2,2'-diamino-4,4'-bithia-zole (DABT), terephthalate dianions and water molecules. The terephthalate dianions, each located on an inversion center, bridge Mn-II ions, forming polymeric complex chains. Additionally, pi-pi stacking is observed between parallel bithia-zole ligands.

Abstract:In the title polymeric complex, [Mn(C7H5O3)(2)(C12H8N2)](n), the Mn-II atom is located on a twofold axis and displays a distorted octahedral coordination geometry, formed by four salicylate anions and one 1,10-phenanthroline ( phen) molecule. The salicylate anions doubly bridge the Mn-II atoms to form one-dimensional polymeric chains. A comparison of Mn - O bond distances with the corresponding Mn - O - C angles suggests a significant electrostatic content in the Mn O bonds. A face-to-face distance of 3.352 (7) angstrom between neighbouring parallel phen planes indicates pi-pi stacking interactions between polymeric chains.

Abstract:In the title complex, {[CaMn(C4H4O5)(2)(H2O)(6)](2H2O)-H-.}(n), the Ca-II and Mn-II ions are bridged by oxydiacetate (ODA) dianions to form zigzag polymeric chains. The Ca-II ion is located at a twofold axis and is coordinated by two tridentate ODA and two water molecules with a distorted tetragonal antiprism coordination geometry. Abstract:The title compound is a polymeric complex bridged by a phthalate dianion, {[Cd(C8H4O4)(C7H6N2)(2)(H2O)] . 0.5H(2)O}(n). The asymmetric unit contains two Cd complex units, and both Cd-II atoms have the same distorted octahedral coordination geometry. Each phthalate dianion bridges two Cd atoms through the two terminal carboxy groups, one in a monodentate fashion and the other in a chelating mode, thus forming zigzag polymeric chains; pi-pi stacking occurs between neighboring chains. The bond angle involving the chelating carboxy group is large, but the corresponding bond distance is normal. Abstract:In the polymeric title complex, [Cd(C2H4NO2)Cl-(C6H6N4S2)](n), the glycinate anions bridge neighbouring Cd-II ions to form zigzag chains along the b axis direction. The Cd-II ion is coordinated by two glycinate ions (one O-monodentate and one N, O-bidentate), a Cl- ion and a bidentate diaminobithiazole ligand in a distorted octahedral geometry. Various N-(HO)-O-... and N-(HCl)-Cl-... hydrogen bonds between adjacent complex chains help to consolidate the crystal packing.

Abstract:In the title complex, [Cd(C4H4O4S)(C3H4N2)(H2O)](n), the Cd-II atom is surrounded by one imidazole ligand, one water molecule and two thiodiacetate dianions in a distorted octahedral CdNO4S coordination. Each thiodiacetate dianion coordinates to two independent Cd atoms, one as a tridentate chelate, the other in a monodentate fashion through a carboxylate O atom. The thiodiacetate dianions bridge neighbouring Cd-II atoms, forming zigzag polymeric chains.

Abstract:The title complex, [Mn(C8H4O4)(C10H8N2)(H2O)](n), takes the form of a zigzag chain, with the terephthalate dianion (tp) acting as a tridentate ligand. The Mn-II center is surrounded by two tp ligands, one water molecule and one 2,2'-bipyridine ( bipy) ligand and exhibits a severely distorted octahedral coordination environment, with cis angles ranging from 57.31 (8) to 123.97 (11)degrees. The complete solid-state structure can be described as a three-dimensional supramolecular framework stabilized by hydrogen-bonding interactions involving the coordinated water molecule and the carboxy O atoms of the tp ligands, and by pi-pi stacking interactions involving the bipy rings and the benzene ring of the tp ligand.

Abstract:The title compound, [Cu(C7H5O3)(2)(C7H6N2)(2)](n), is a one-dimensional polymeric complex bridged by salicylate anions. The Cu-II atom is surrounded by three salicylate and two benzimidazole ligands, with a tetragonally elongated octahedral coordination geometry. The Cu - O bond distances in the axial directions are 2.6092 ( 16) and 2.6834 ( 17) Angstrom. pi-pi stacking interactions exist between the benzimidazole rings of neighboring polymeric complex chains.
