Abstract:In the title polymeric complex, [Mn(C7H5O3)(2)(C12H8N2)](n), the Mn-II atom is located on a twofold axis and displays a distorted octahedral coordination geometry, formed by four salicylate anions and one 1,10-phenanthroline ( phen) molecule. The salicylate anions doubly bridge the Mn-II atoms to form one-dimensional polymeric chains. A comparison of Mn - O bond distances with the corresponding Mn - O - C angles suggests a significant electrostatic content in the Mn O bonds. A face-to-face distance of 3.352 (7) angstrom between neighbouring parallel phen planes indicates pi-pi stacking interactions between polymeric chains.

Two benzimidazole ligands also coordinate to the Co atom to complete a distorted trigonalbipyramidal coordination geometry. Abstract:In the title polymeric complex, [Mn(C6H8O 4)(C7H6N2)2-(H 2O)]n, the MnII atom is surrounded by two adipate dianions, two benzimidazole molecules and one coordinated water molecule. The Mn atoms and coordinated water molecule are located on a twofold axis, and the bridging adipate ligand is located on an inversion center. The adipate dianions bridge neighboring MnII atoms to form polymeric chains. Each MnII atom is seven-coordinate, the longest Mn - O bond length being 2.5356 (16) Å. © 2005 International Union of Crystallography.

Abstract:In the polymeric title complex, [Cd(C2H4NO2)Cl-(C6H6N4S2)](n), the glycinate anions bridge neighbouring Cd-II ions to form zigzag chains along the b axis direction. The Cd-II ion is coordinated by two glycinate ions (one O-monodentate and one N, O-bidentate), a Cl- ion and a bidentate diaminobithiazole ligand in a distorted octahedral geometry. Various N-(HO)-O-... and N-(HCl)-Cl-... hydrogen bonds between adjacent complex chains help to consolidate the crystal packing.

Abstract:In the title polymeric compound, [Mn( C7H4O6S)(C10H8N2)( H2O)(2)](n), the octahedral coordination geometry of each Mn II atom comprises two N-atom donors of one 2,2'-bipyridine ligand, two O atoms, one from a carboxylate and one from a sulfonate group of two 5-sulfonatosalicylate ligands, and two further O atoms from two water molecules. The molecules, bridged by 5-sulfonatosalicylate ligands, form a one-dimensional polymeric chain. Intermolecular O - H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds between the chains generate a two-dimensional hydrogen-bonded layer.
