Abstract:In the title polymeric complex, [Mn(C7H5O3)(2)(C12H8N2)](n), the Mn-II atom is located on a twofold axis and displays a distorted octahedral coordination geometry, formed by four salicylate anions and one 1,10-phenanthroline ( phen) molecule. The salicylate anions doubly bridge the Mn-II atoms to form one-dimensional polymeric chains. A comparison of Mn - O bond distances with the corresponding Mn - O - C angles suggests a significant electrostatic content in the Mn O bonds. A face-to-face distance of 3.352 (7) angstrom between neighbouring parallel phen planes indicates pi-pi stacking interactions between polymeric chains.

Abstract:The title Mn-II complex, [Mn(C8H4O4)(C6H6N4S2)(H2O)(2)]. 2H(2)O, assumes a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry formed by 2,2'-diamino-4,4'-bithia-zole (DABT), terephthalate dianions and water molecules. Abstract:In the title complex, {[CaMn(C4H4O5)(2)(H2O)(6)](2H2O)-H-.}(n), the Ca-II and Mn-II ions are bridged by oxydiacetate (ODA) dianions to form zigzag polymeric chains. The Ca-II ion is located at a twofold axis and is coordinated by two tridentate ODA and two water molecules with a distorted tetragonal antiprism coordination geometry. The Mn-II ion is located at another twofold axis, and assumes a distorted octahedral coordination geometry formed by four water molecules and two carboxyl O atoms from monodentate ODA dianions also chelating to the neighboring CaII atoms.

Abstract:In the polymeric title complex, [Cd(C2H4NO2)Cl-(C6H6N4S2)](n), the glycinate anions bridge neighbouring Cd-II ions to form zigzag chains along the b axis direction. The Cd-II ion is coordinated by two glycinate ions (one O-monodentate and one N, O-bidentate), a Cl- ion and a bidentate diaminobithiazole ligand in a distorted octahedral geometry. Various N-(HO)-O-... and N-(HCl)-Cl-... hydrogen bonds between adjacent complex chains help to consolidate the crystal packing.

Abstract:The title complex, ([Fe(C(4)H(4)O(4))(H(2)O)(4)])(n), is an infinite polymeric compound bridged by the succinate dianion. Two carboxylate groups coordinate in a monodentate manner to the Fe(II) atom, in a trans fashion, with an O-Fe-O bond angle of 175.72 (6) degrees and Fe-O distances of 2.0886 (14) and 2.1008 (15) A. One of the uncoordinated carboxylate O atom forms an intramolecular hydrogen bond with a coordinated water molecule. Extensive hydrogen bonding between parallel polymeric complex chains results in a three-dimensional supramolecular structure.

Abstract:In the title polymeric compound, [Mn( C7H4O6S)(C10H8N2)( H2O)(2)](n), the octahedral coordination geometry of each Mn II atom comprises two N-atom donors of one 2,2'-bipyridine ligand, two O atoms, one from a carboxylate and one from a sulfonate group of two 5-sulfonatosalicylate ligands, and two further O atoms from two water molecules. The molecules, bridged by 5-sulfonatosalicylate ligands, form a one-dimensional polymeric chain. Intermolecular O - H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds between the chains generate a two-dimensional hydrogen-bonded layer.

Abstract:The title compound is a polymeric complex bridged by a phthalate dianion, {[Cd(C8H4O4)(C7H6N2)(2)(H2O)] . 0.5H(2)O}(n). The asymmetric unit contains two Cd complex units, and both Cd-II atoms have the same distorted octahedral coordination geometry. Each phthalate dianion bridges two Cd atoms through the two terminal carboxy groups, one in a monodentate fashion and the other in a chelating mode, thus forming zigzag polymeric chains; pi-pi stacking occurs between neighboring chains. The bond angle involving the chelating carboxy group is large, but the corresponding bond distance is normal. This implies the existence of an electrostatic interaction between the Cd-II atoms and the carboxy groups.

Abstract:In the polymeric title compound, [Pb(C6H4NO2)(2)-C6H6N4S2)](n), the Pb-II ion is located on a twofold axis and coordinated by one N,N'-bidentate diaminobithiazole (DABT) ligand and four O-monodentate isonicotinate anions in a very distorted cis-PbN2O4 octahedral geometry. The carboxylate group of the isonicotinate anion bridges two PbII ions, forming a polymeric chain. The complete DABT molecule is generated by twofold symmetry; its two thiazole rings are twisted with a dihedral angle of 9.5 (2)degrees. There are no pi-pi stacking interactions in the title compound, but N-H center dot center dot center dot O and N-H center dot center dot center dot N hydrogen bonds help to stabilize the structure.
