Abstract:In this paper, the asymptotic stability with probability one of multi-degree-of-freedom (MDOF) nonlinear oscillators with fractional derivative damping parametrically excited by Gaussian white noises is investigated. A stochastic averaging method and the Khasminskii’s procedure are employed to evaluate the largest Lyapunov exponent, whose sign determines the stability of the system. As an example, two coupled nonlinear oscillators with fractional derivative damping is worked out to demonstrate the proposed procedure and to examine the effect of fractional order on the stochastic stability of system. In particular, the case of factional order more than 1 is studied for the first time.

Abstract:In this paper, we discuss the oscillatory behavior of solutions of two general classes of nonlinear second-order differential equations. New criteria are obtained using Riccati transformations and the integral averaging techniques. The obtained results improve and generalize some recent criteria in the literature. Moreover, a traditional condition is relaxed. Three examples are given to justify the results.

Abstract:<p>Following the previous work (Sui and Yu, 0000), we investigate the impact of damping on the oscillation of smooth solutions to some kind of quasilinear wave equations with Robin and Dirichlet boundary conditions. By using generalized Riccati transformation and technical inequality method, we give some sufficient conditions to guarantee the oscillation of all smooth solutions. From the results, we conclude that positive damping can "hold back" oscillation. At last, some examples are presented to confirm our main results.</p>

Abstract:This work seeks to establish new oscillation criteria to analyze the oscillatory characteristics of solutions to a specific class of neutral differential equations featuring distributed delay arguments . These equations, which have numerous applications in the physical and engineering sciences, present intriguing analytical challenges. Utilizing novel monotonic properties, we apply the comparison principle and Riccati substitutions to derive effective oscillation criteria. This approach allows us to remove certain constraints previously imposed on the coefficients of neutral differential equations. Additionally, when utilized in the Euler-type differential equation, the new conditions provide a precise conclusion regarding oscillation. To highlight the novelty and significance of the results, we include examples, remarks, as well as tables and figures for comparison.

Abstract:The oscillation and asymptotic behavior of solutions of a general class of damped second-order differential equations with several sub-linear neutral terms is considered. New sufficient conditions are established to fulfill a part of the gap in the oscillation theory for the case of sub-linear neutral equations. Our main results improve and generalize some of those recently published in the literature. Several examples are given to support our results.

Abstract:In this paper, we use Riccati transformation technique and the impulsive inequality to establish some new oscillation criteria for the second-order nonlinear impulsive dynamic equation with a damping term (r(t)(x∆(t))α)∆ + q(t)(x∆(t))α + f(t, x(σ(t))) = 0, t ≥ t0 , t 6= tk, x(t+k ) = gk(x(t − k )), x (t+k ) = hk(x (tk )), k = 1, 2, . . . , x(t+0 ) = x0, x (t+0 ) = x ∆ 0 , on a time scale T. Our results generalize and extend some previous results and can be applied to some oscillation problems not discussed before. Finally, we give some examples to illustrate our main results.

Abstract:This paper delves into the asymptotic and oscillatory behavior of all classes of solutions of fourth-order nonlinear neutral delay differential equations in the noncanonical form with damping terms. This research aims to improve the relationships between the solutions of these equations and their corresponding functions and derivatives. By refining these relationships, we unveil new insights into the asymptotic properties governing these solutions. These insights lead to the establishment of improved conditions that ensure the nonexistence of any positive solutions to the studied equation, thus obtaining improved oscillation criteria. In light of the broader context, our findings extend and build upon the existing literature in the field of neutral differential equations. To emphasize the importance of the results and their applicability, this paper concludes with some examples.

Abstract:The oscillation of a class of fourth-order nonlinear damped delay differential equations with distributed deviating arguments is the subject of this research. We propose a new explanation of the fourth-order equation oscillation in terms of the oscillation of a similar well-studied second-order linear differential equation without damping. The extended Riccati transformation, integral averaging approach, and comparison principles are used to provide some additional oscillatory criteria. An example demonstrates the efficacy of the acquired criteria.

Abstract:This paper systematically treats the asymptotic behavior of many (linear/nonlinear) classes of higher-order fractional differential equations with multiple terms. To do this, we utilize the characteristics of Caputo fractional differentiable functions, the comparison principle, counterfactual reasoning, and the spectral analysis method (concerning the integral presentations of basic solutions). Some numerical examples are also provided to demonstrate the validity of the proposed results.

Abstract:In this work, we find new oscillation criteria for fourth-order advanced differential equations with a p-Laplace-type operator. We established our results through a comparison method with integral averaging and Riccati techniques to obtain new oscillatory properties for the considered equation. Our criteria substantially simplify and complement a number of existing ones. We give some examples to illustrate the significance of the obtained results.
