Abstract:This study is aimed at developing new criteria of the iterative nature to test the oscillation of neutral delay differential equations of third order. First, we obtain a new criterion for the nonexistence of the so-called Kneser solutions, using an iterative technique. Further, we use several methods to obtain different criteria, so that a larger area of the models can be covered. The examples provided strongly support the importance of the new results.

Abstract:In this paper, new oscillation criteria for second-order half-linear neutral delay differential equations are established, using a recently developed method of iteratively improved monotonicity properties of a nonoscillatory solution. Our approach allows removing several disadvantages which were commonly associated with the method based on a priori bound for the nonoscillatory solution, and deriving new results which are optimal in a nonneutral case. It is shown that the newly obtained results significantly improve a large number of existing ones.

Abstract:By employing a generalized Riccati transformation and integral averaging technique, two Philos-type criteria are obtained which ensure that every solution of a class of third-order neutral differential equations with distributed deviating arguments is either oscillatory or converges to zero. These results extend and improve related criteria reported in the literature. Two illustrative examples are provided.

Abstract:The Riccati equation method is used to establish three new oscillatory criteria for the second order linear ordinary differential equations in the marginal, sub extremal and extremal <a class="link-external link-http" href="http://cases.We" rel="external noopener nofollow">this http URL</a> show that the first of these criteria implies the J. Deng's oscillatory criterion. An extremal oscillatory condition for the Mathieu's equation is obtained. The obtained results are compared with some known oscillatory criteria.

Abstract:Modified Euler type second order half-linear differential equations are considered and a non-oscillation criterion is derived for them. This criterion is the counterpart of a previously obtained oscillation theorem. Thus, from the main result of this paper, it follows that the studied equations are conditionally oscillatory in a very general case. To prove the non-oscillation criterion, a combination of the Riccati technique and the generalized Prüfer angle is used. Since the criterion is new in many cases (especially, in the linear case), several corollaries are formulated and the novelty is illustrated by an example as well.

Abstract:In this paper, we examine the oscillatory behavior of solutions to a class of half-linear third-order dynamic equations with deviating arguments α2(η)φδ2α1ηφδ1uΔ(η)ΔΔ+p(η)φδu(g(η))=0, on an arbitrary unbounded-above time scale T, where η∈[η0,∞)T:=[η0,∞)∩T, η0≥0, η0∈T and φζ(w):=wζsgnw, ζ>0. Using the integral mean approach and the known Riccati transform methodology, several improved Hille-type and Ohriska-type oscillation criteria have been derived that do not require some restrictive assumptions in the relevant results. Illustrative examples and conclusions show that these criteria are sharp for all third-order dynamic equations compared to the previous results in the literature.

Abstract:This work seeks to establish new oscillation criteria to analyze the oscillatory characteristics of solutions to a specific class of neutral differential equations featuring distributed delay arguments . These equations, which have numerous applications in the physical and engineering sciences, present intriguing analytical challenges. Utilizing novel monotonic properties, we apply the comparison principle and Riccati substitutions to derive effective oscillation criteria. This approach allows us to remove certain constraints previously imposed on the coefficients of neutral differential equations. Additionally, when utilized in the Euler-type differential equation, the new conditions provide a precise conclusion regarding oscillation. To highlight the novelty and significance of the results, we include examples, remarks, as well as tables and figures for comparison.

Abstract:In this paper, we discuss the oscillatory behavior of solutions of two general classes of nonlinear second-order differential equations. New criteria are obtained using Riccati transformations and the integral averaging techniques. The obtained results improve and generalize some recent criteria in the literature. Abstract:In the sense of an arbitrary time scale, some new sufficient conditions on oscillation are presented in this paper for a class of nonlinear third-order delay dynamic equations involving a local fractional derivative with a super-linear neutral term. The established oscillation results include known Kamenev and Philos-type oscillation criteria and are new oscillation results so far in the literature. Some inequalities, the Riccati transformation, the integral technique, and the theory of time scale are used in the establishment of these oscillation criteria. The proposed results unify continuous and discrete analysis, and the process of deduction is further extended to another class of nonlinear third-order delay dynamic equations involving a local fractional derivative with a super-linear neutral term and a damping term. As applications for the established oscillation criteria, some examples are given.

Abstract:In this paper, by using the Riccati transformation and integral inequality technique, we establish several oscillation criteria for second-order Emden–Fowler neutral delay differential equations under the canonical case and non-canonical case, respectively. Compared with some recent results reported in the literature, we extend the range of the neutral coefficient. Therefore, our results generalize to some of the results presented in the literature. Furthermore, several examples are provided to illustrate our conclusions.

Abstract:<p>Following the previous work (Sui and Yu, 0000), we investigate the impact of damping on the oscillation of smooth solutions to some kind of quasilinear wave equations with Robin and Dirichlet boundary conditions. By using generalized Riccati transformation and technical inequality method, we give some sufficient conditions to guarantee the oscillation of all smooth solutions. From the results, we conclude that positive damping can "hold back" oscillation. At last, some examples are presented to confirm our main results.</p>
