Calculation Methods of Section Capacity with Consideration of Effect of Access Traffic

Abstract:In order to deeply analyze the influence of access traffic on section capacity and conflict analysis principle of traffic flow, using theoretical analysis and model establishing method, on the basis of analyzing composition of access point traffic flow and operation features of urban street, the capacity calculation models of urban street with the effects of six interferential types of access traffic flows were proposed. Meanwhile, sensitivity analysis of influence of relative factor on main section capacity was conducted. Results show that to a certain extent, section capacity is influenced by access traffic. The impact degrees of different interference flows on urban street highly relate to the lane number, traffic volume, turn ratio of major street and traffic volume of minor street.
