Abstract:The title compound, C(22)H(22)N(2)O(10), was prepared by the glycosidation method through nitrite displacement on substituted nitro-phthalonitrile. The mol-ecule contains a benzene ring, two nitrile groups and an acetyl-protected d-glucose fragment which adopts a chair conformation. The absolute configuration was determined by the use of d-glucose as starting material. All substituents of the protected sugar are in equatorial positions, with the exclusive presence of the α-anomer. The crystal packing is stabilized by C-H⋯O and C-H⋯N hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Abstract:The title compound, C20H47NO6Si4, was synthesized by per-O-trimethylsilylation of N-acetyl-d-glucosamine using chlorotrimethylsilane in the presence of hexamethyldisiloxane. The trimethylsilyl group and acetamido group are located on the same side of the pyran ring, showing an α-configuration glycoside. One of the trimethylsilyl groups is disordered over two orientations, with site-occupancy factors of 0.625 (9) and 0.375 (9). In the crystal, N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the molecules into supramolecular chains along the a-axis direction.

Abstract:The structure of the title compound, C22H24N2O9S2, is described. This compound consists of a sugar ring and a heterocyclic base linked unusually by an S atom. The sugar is in a 4C1 chair conformation and forms dihedral angles of 49.54 (4) and 33.42 (5)degrees with the thiadiazole and phenyl rings, respectively. The S atom occupies an equatorial position of the sugar ring and lies 1.807 (2) A out of the corresponding mean plane.

Abstract:The title compound C23H29NO5, synthesized by the Amadori rearrangement of alpha-D-glucose with dibenzylamine and the ketalization, is shown to be a beta-anomer. The fructopyranose ring adopts a chair conformation. The two benzene rings form a dihedral angle of 68.9 (1)degrees. In the crystal, non-classical intermolecular C-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds link the molecules into a three-dimensional network.

Abstract:The title compound, C(19)H(19)NO(10), was obtained from the reaction of α-d-1-bromo-2,3,4-tri-O-acetylxylose with N-hy-droxy-phthalimide in the presence of potassium carbonate. The asymmetric unit contains two independent mol-ecules, in which the O-CH-O-N torsion angles are 73.0 (4) and 65.0 (4)°. The hexa-pyranosyl rings adopt chair conformations and the substituent groups are in equatorial positions. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by nonclassical C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Abstract:The title compound, C24H32O8S center dot C3H6O, features three six-membered and two five-membered rings. The six-membered rings adopt chair, boat and slightly distorted boat conformations whereas one five-membered ring adopts an approximate envelope conformation and the other a twist conformation. Disorder was modelled for the ethylthio group with the ethyl-C atoms resolved over three positions with occupancies of 0.58 (4), 0.23 (4) and 0.19 (3). In the crystal, an O-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bond links the molecules into chains.

Abstract:The title compound, C(24)H(22)N(2)O(4)·H(2)O, was obtained by the reaction of 3,4-dimeth-oxy-benzaldehyde, malononitrile and 5-phenyl-cyclo-hexane-1,3-dione. The cyclo-hexyl and pyran rings show half-boat and V-shaped conformations, respectively. The dihedral angle between the phenyl and benzene ring planes is 30.67 (9)°. Abstract:The title compound, C(20)H(36)O(6)S(4), was obtained by ethanethiol-ysis of 3,5,6-tri-O-acetyl-1,2-O-isopropyl-idene-α-d-gluco-furan--ose. One of the ethyl groups is disordered over two sites with refined occupancies of 0.869 (6) and 0.131 (6).
