Abstract:It is well known that the functor Omega : Sp -> Loc does not preserve meets of subspaces. More generally, the meet of a family of spatial sublocales of a locale is in general not spatial. In this paper, we will give a characterization for those topological spaces for which the functor Omega preserves meets of subspaces. As a corollary, we give some characterizations for the meet of some spatial sublocales of a locale to be spatial.

Abstract:The category SLoc of spatial locales is a coreflective subcategory of the category Loc of locales,but the product of spatial locales is not closed under localic product.In this note the concept of wealdy spatial locale is presented,we show that the category WSLoc of weakly spatial locales is a coreflection subcategory of the category Loc and the localic product of weakly spatial locale is still weakly spatial.Moreover,we show that a locale A is spatial if and only if the nucleus locale N(A)is weakly spatial,every sublocale of a locale A is spatial if and only if every sublocale of A is weakly spatial.Also we prove that the weekly spatiality is preserved under directed functors.

Abstract:(Completely regular) locales generalize (Tychonoff) spaces; indeed, the passage from a locale to its spatial sublocale is a well understood coreflection. But a locale also possesses an equally important pointless sublocale, and with morphisms suitably restricted, the passage from a locale to its pointless sublocale is also a coreflection. Our main theorem is that every locale can be uniquely represented as a subdirect product of its pointless and spatial parts, again with suitably restricted projections. We then exploit this representation by showing that any locale is determined by (what may be described as) the placement of its points in its pointless part.

Abstract:This paper applies completely regular elements and zero-dimensiomal elements, gives constructive descriptions of the completely regular reflection and the zero-dimensional reflection of Locales in much simple form.For a Locale A,which satisfies the subdivisibility property,especially a normal Locale,the authors show that the Locale R(A)of regular elements is the regular reflection of A.Furthermore,the compact regular reflection,the completely regular reflection and the compact zero-dimensional reflection of Locales by the extension lemma of fiat suLocale are abtained.

Abstract:We introduce and study some variants of remote sublocales, namely sublocales that are remote from dense sublocales and those that are *remote from dense sublocales. We show that the coframe of sublocales coincides with the collection of all sublocales remote from the Booleanization. Furthermore, the supplement of the Booleanization of any locale is the largest sublocale *remote from the Booleanization. We give conditions on localic maps such that their induced localic image and pre-image functions preserve sublocales that are remote (resp. *remote) from dense sublocales. We introduce new types of localic maps called f-remote preserving maps.

Abstract:The aim of this paper is to study some variants of nowhere dense sublocales called maximal nowhere dense and homogeneous maximal nowhere dense sublocales. These concepts were initially introduced by Veksler in classical topology. We give some general properties of these sublocales and further examine their relationship with both inaccessible sublocales and remote sublocales. It turns out that a locale has all of its non-void nowhere dense sublocales maximal nowhere dense precisely when all of its its non-void nowhere dense sublocales are inaccessible. We show that the Booleanization of a locale is inaccessible with respect to every dense and open sublocale. In connection to remote sublocales, we prove that, if the supplement of an open dense sublocale S is homogeneous maximal nowhere dense, then every $S^{\#}$-remote sublocale is *-remote from S. Every open localic map that sends dense elements to dense elements preserves and reflects maximal nowhere dense sublocales. If such a localic map is further injective, then it sends homogeneous maximal nowhere dense sublocales back and forth.

Abstract:In 1971, inspired by the work of Lazard and Govorov for R -modules over a ring R , B. Stenström proved that an S -act over a monoid S is isomorphic to a directed colimit of finitely generated free S -acts if and only if it is both pullback flat and equalizer flat. Such acts are now usually called strongly flat. In 1991, S. Bulman-Fleming discovered that every pullback flat S -act is in fact strongly flat by developing a new "interpolation" Condition ( PF ) for pullback-preservation. In 2005, V. Laan and S. Bulman-Fleming obtained a version of the Lazard-Govorov Theorem for S -posets over a pomonoid S , in which subpullbacks and subequalizers now take on the role previously played by pullbacks and equalizers. However, unlike the situation for acts, S. Bulman-Fleming showed in 2009 that subpullback flat S -posets need not be strongly flat, and also T. Zhao found in 2022 that Condition ( PF ) does not imply strongly flatness for S -posets. The present paper is devoted to the study of subpullback flatness and Condition ( PF ) in the context of S -posets over a pomonoid S . First we unexpectedly show that subpullback flatness is equivalent to Condition ( PF ). Furthermore, we give some classifications of pomonoids by subpullback flatness of (cyclic, Rees factor) S -posets, and give some classes of pomonoids that all (cyclic) S -posets have a PF -cover. Finally, we investigate products of subpullback flat S -posets.

Remoteness in the category of bilocales

Abstract:In locale theory, a sublocale is said to be remote in case it misses every nowhere dense sublocale. In this paper, we introduce and study a new class of sublocales in the category of bilocales, namely (i,j)-remote sublocales. These are bilocalic counterparts of remote sublocales and are the sublocales missing every (i,j)-nowhere dense sublocale, with (i,j)-nowhere dense sublocales being bilocalic counterparts of (\tau_{i},\tau_{j})-nowhere dense subsets in bitopological spaces. A comprehensive study of (i,j)-nowhere dense sublocales is given and we show that in the class of balanced bilocales, a sublocale is (i,j)-nowhere dense if and only if its bilocale closure is nowhere dense. We also consider weakly (i,j)-remote sublocales which are those sublocales missing every clopen (i,j)-nowhere dense sublocale. Furthermore, we extend (i,j)-remoteness to the categories of bitopological spaces as well as normed lattices. In the class of \sup-T_{D} bitopological spaces, a subset A of a bitopological space (X,\tau_{1},\tau_{2}) is (\tau_{i},\tau_{j})-remote if and only if the induced sublocale \widetilde{A} of \tau_{1}\vee\tau_{2} is (i,j)-remote.

Abstract:The dissolution (introduced by Isbell in [3], discussed by Johnstone in [5] and later exploited by Plewe in [12, 13]) is here viewed as the relation of the geometry of L with that of the more dispersed T( L ) = S( L ) op mediated by the natural embedding and its adjoint localic map γ L : T( L ) → L . The associated image-preimage adjunction ( γ L ) −1 [−] ⊣ γ L [−] between the frames T( L ) and TT( L ) is shown to coincide with the adjunction c T( L ) ⊣ γ T ( L ) of the second step of the assembly (tower) of L . This helps to explain the role of T( L ) = S( L ) op as an "almost discrete lift" (sometimes used as a sort of model of the classical discrete lift DL → L ) as a dispersion going halfway to Booleanness. Consequent use of the concrete sublocales technique simplifies the reasoning. We illustrate it on the celebrated Plewe's theorem on ultranormality (and ultraparacompactness) of S( L ) which becomes (we hope) substantially more transparent.

Abstract:We first show that a group of the characterizations of collectionwise subnormal spaces. By using this, the following are proved: (1) Let X = lim{Xσ,πρσ, ∑} and every πσ be open and onto mapping, if X is |∑|-paracompact and every Xσ is collectionwise subnormal, then X is collectionwise subnormal; (2) Let X = ⅡαeXα be |A|-paracompact, X is collectionwise subnormal iff ⅡαeFXα is collectionwise subnormal for every F e[A]ω. Next, we point out that there exist the similar results to hereditarily collectionwise subnormal spaces.

Abstract:In a 2005 paper, Casacuberta, Scevenels and Smith construct a homotopy idempotent functor $E$ on the category of simplicial sets with the property that whether it can be expressed as localization with respect to a map $f$ is independent of the ZFC axioms. We show that this construction can be carried out in homotopy type theory. More precisely, we give a general method of associating to a suitable (possibly large) family of maps, a reflective subuniverse of any universe $\mathcal{U}$. When specialized to an appropriate family, this produces a localization which when interpreted in the $\infty$-topos of spaces agrees with the localization corresponding to $E$. Our approach generalizes the approach of [CSS] in two ways. First, by working in homotopy type theory, our construction can be interpreted in any $\infty$-topos. Second, while the local objects produced by [CSS] are always 1-types, our construction can produce $n$-types, for any $n$. This is new, even in the $\infty$-topos of spaces. In addition, by making use of universes, our proof is very direct. Along the way, we prove many results about "small" types that are of independent interest. As an application, we give a new proof that separated localizations exist. We also give results that say when a localization with respect to a family of maps can be presented as localization with respect to a single map, and show that the simplicial model satisfies a strong form of the axiom of choice which implies that sets cover and that the law of excluded middle holds.

Abstract:If ( S , J ) is a zero-dimensional local ring, K=S/J its residue class field and D an integral domain with quotient field K , we show that twin notions of relative perinormality (N. Epstein, J. Shapiro, Perinormality in pullbacks Journal of Commutative Algebra 11 (3):341–362, 2019) and relative global perinormality (H. Klawa, Globally perinormal domains and graded perinormality, Doctoral Dissertation , George Mason University, 2023) are preserved by a pullback construction R=D×KS. As a byproduct, we recover the preservation of these notions in a new pullback construction of Chang et al. and idealization.

Abstract:Given a strongly local Dirichlet space and , we introduce a new notion of -subharmonicity for -functions, which we call local -shift defectivity , and which turns out to be equivalent to distributional -subharmonicity in the Riemannian case. We study the regularity of these functions on a new class of strongly local Dirichlet, so called locally smoothing spaces, which includes Riemannian manifolds (without any curvature assumptions), finite dimensional RCD spaces, Carnot groups, and Sierpinski gaskets. As a byproduct of this regularity theory, we obtain in this general framework a proof of a conjecture by Braverman, Milatovic, Shubin on the positivity of distributional -solutions of for complete Riemannian manifolds.

Some Aspects of Differential Topology of Subcartesian Spaces

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the differential topological properties of a large class of singular spaces: subcarteisan space. First, a minor further result on the partition of unity for differential spaces is derived. Second, the tubular neighborhood theorem for subcartesian spaces with constant structural dimensions is established. Third, the concept of Morse functions on smooth manifolds is generalized to differential spaces. For subcartesian space with constant structural dimension, a class of examples of Morse functions is provided. With the assumption that the subcartesian space can be embedded as a bounded subset of an Euclidean space, it is proved that any smooth bounded function on this space can be approximated by Morse functions. The infinitesimal stability of Morse functions on subcartesian spaces is studied. Classical results on Morse functions on smooth manifolds can be treated directly as corollaries of our results here.
