Abstract:This paper applies completely regular elements and zero-dimensiomal elements, gives constructive descriptions of the completely regular reflection and the zero-dimensional reflection of Locales in much simple form.For a Locale A,which satisfies the subdivisibility property,especially a normal Locale,the authors show that the Locale R(A)of regular elements is the regular reflection of A.Furthermore,the compact regular reflection,the completely regular reflection and the compact zero-dimensional reflection of Locales by the extension lemma of fiat suLocale are abtained.

Abstract:(Completely regular) locales generalize (Tychonoff) spaces; indeed, the passage from a locale to its spatial sublocale is a well understood coreflection. But a locale also possesses an equally important pointless sublocale, and with morphisms suitably restricted, the passage from a locale to its pointless sublocale is also a coreflection. Our main theorem is that every locale can be uniquely represented as a subdirect product of its pointless and spatial parts, again with suitably restricted projections. We then exploit this representation by showing that any locale is determined by (what may be described as) the placement of its points in its pointless part.

Abstract:We describe the applications of localization methods, in particular the functorial localization formula, in the proofs of several conjectures from string theory. The functorial localization formula pushes the computations on complicated moduli spaces to simple moduli spaces. It is a key technique in the proof of the general mirror formula, the proof of the Hori-Vafa formula for explicit expressions of basic hypergeornetric series of homogeneous manifolds, and the proof of the Marino-Vafa formula for Hodge integrals. The proposal of Strominger-Yau-Zaslow of mirror symmetry will also be discussed.

Abstract:The category SLoc of spatial locales is a coreflective subcategory of the category Loc of locales,but the product of spatial locales is not closed under localic product.In this note the concept of wealdy spatial locale is presented,we show that the category WSLoc of weakly spatial locales is a coreflection subcategory of the category Loc and the localic product of weakly spatial locale is still weakly spatial.Moreover,we show that a locale A is spatial if and only if the nucleus locale N(A)is weakly spatial,every sublocale of a locale A is spatial if and only if every sublocale of A is weakly spatial.Also we prove that the weekly spatiality is preserved under directed functors.
Uniform locales and their constructive aspects

Abstract:Much work has been done on generalising results about uniform spaces to the pointfree context. However, this has almost exclusively been done using classical logic, whereas much of the utility of the pointfree approach lies in its constructive theory, which can be interpreted in many different toposes. Johnstone has advocated for the development of a constructive theory of uniform locales and wrote a short paper on the basic constructive theory via covering uniformities, but he never followed this up with a discussion of entourage uniformities or completions. We present a more extensive constructive development of uniform locales, including both entourage and covering approaches, their equivalence, completions and some applications to metric locales and localic algebra. Some aspects of our presentation might also be of interest even to classically minded pointfree topologists. These include the definition and manipulation of entourage uniformities using the internal logic of the geometric hyperdoctrine of open sublocales and the emphasis on pre-uniform locales. The latter leads to a description of the completion as the uniform reflection of the pre-uniform locale of Cauchy filters and a new result concerning the completion of pre-uniform localic rings, which can be used to easily lift addition and multiplication on $\mathbb{Q}$ to $\mathbb{R}$ (or $\mathbb{Q}_p$) in the pointfree setting.

Some variants of remote sublocales

Abstract:We introduce and study some variants of remote sublocales, namely sublocales that are remote from dense sublocales and those that are *remote from dense sublocales. We show that the coframe of sublocales coincides with the collection of all sublocales remote from the Booleanization. Furthermore, the supplement of the Booleanization of any locale is the largest sublocale *remote from the Booleanization. We give conditions on localic maps such that their induced localic image and pre-image functions preserve sublocales that are remote (resp. *remote) from dense sublocales. We introduce new types of localic maps called f-remote preserving maps.

Abstract:Boolean locales are "almost discrete", in the sense that a spatial Boolean locale is just a discrete locale (that is, it corresponds to the frame of open subsets of a discrete space, namely the powerset of a set). This basic fact, however, cannot be proven constructively, that is, over intuitionistic logic, as it requires the full law of excluded middle (LEM). In fact, discrete locales are never Boolean constructively, except for the trivial locale. So, what is an almost discrete locale constructively? Our claim is that Sambin's overlap algebras have good enough features to deserve to be called that. Namely, they include the class of discrete locales, they arise as smallest strongly dense sublocales (of overt locales), and hence they coincide with the Boolean locales if LEM holds.

Abstract:We study the compactification of semitopological groups with remainders being locally p⁎⁎-spaces, and establish: (1) if a semitopological group X has a remainder that is locally a p⁎⁎-space, then either X is a paracompact p-topological group, or X is meager; (2) if a non-locally compact paratopological group X has a remainder that is locally a p-space, then either X is a Lindelöf p-space, or X is σ-compact; (3) if a compact space Z is the union of two non-locally compact semitopological groups X and Y such that Z∖X is locally developable, then Z is separable and metrizable; (4) if a non-locally compact Baire semitopological group G has a remainder Y that is the union of a finite family of metrizable subspaces, then G is metrizable. Some results of A.V. Arhangel'skii et al. are improved.

Abstract:Here, we introduce a new definition of regular point for piecewise-linear (PL) functions on combinatorial (PL triangulated) manifolds. This definition is given in terms of the restriction of the function to the link of the point. We show that our definition of regularity is distinct from other definitions that exist in the combinatorial topology literature. Next, we stratify the Jacobi set/critical locus of such a map as a poset stratified space. As an application, we consider the Reeb space of a PL function, stratify the Reeb space as well as the target of the function, and show that the Stein factorization is a map of stratified spaces.

Partially Ordered Sheaves on a Locale. I (II)

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the order algebraic structure in the category of sheaves on a given locale X. Since every localic topos has a generating set formed by its subterminal objects, we define a "point" of a partially ordered sheaf to be a morphism from a subterminal sheaf to the partially ordered sheaf. Using the concept of "points," we investigate the completeness of posheaves systemically. Some internal characterizations of complete partially ordered sheaves and frame sheaves are given. We also give an explicit description of the construction of associated sheaf locales and show directly that the category Sh(X) of sheaves on a locale X is equivalent to the slice category LH/X of locales and local homeomorphisms over X. Applying this equivalence, we give characterizations of partially ordered sheaves and complete partially ordered sheaves in terms of sheaf locale respectively. This paper is a continuation of our paper [1]. In this paper, we first introduce the concept of directed complete partially ordered sheaves (shortly dcposheaves) on a given locale. some internal characterizations of dcposheaves and meet continuous dcposheaves are given respectively. We also give characterizations of continuous posheaves and completely distributive posheaves, and show that an algebraic completely distributive posheaf is spatial.

Abstract:Stone locales together with continuous maps form a coreflective subcategory of spectral locales and perfect maps. A proof in the internal language of an elementary topos was previously given by the second-named author. This proof can be easily translated to univalent type theory using resizing axioms. In this work, we show how to achieve such a translation without resizing axioms, by working with large and locally small frames with small bases. This requires predicative reformulations of several fundamental concepts of locale theory in predicative HoTT/UF, which we investigate systematically.

Abstract:The dissolution (introduced by Isbell in [3], discussed by Johnstone in [5] and later exploited by Plewe in [12, 13]) is here viewed as the relation of the geometry of L with that of the more dispersed T( L ) = S( L ) op mediated by the natural embedding and its adjoint localic map γ L : T( L ) → L . The associated image-preimage adjunction ( γ L ) −1 [−] ⊣ γ L [−] between the frames T( L ) and TT( L ) is shown to coincide with the adjunction c T( L ) ⊣ γ T ( L ) of the second step of the assembly (tower) of L . This helps to explain the role of T( L ) = S( L ) op as an "almost discrete lift" (sometimes used as a sort of model of the classical discrete lift DL → L ) as a dispersion going halfway to Booleanness. Consequent use of the concrete sublocales technique simplifies the reasoning. We illustrate it on the celebrated Plewe's theorem on ultranormality (and ultraparacompactness) of S( L ) which becomes (we hope) substantially more transparent.

Abstract:In this paper, we firstly discuss the question: Is $l_{2}^{\infty}$ homeomorphic to a rectifiable space or a paratopological group? And then, we mainly discuss locally compact rectifiable spaces, and show that a locally compact and separable rectifiable space is $\sigma$-compact, which gives an affirmative answer to A.V. Arhangel'skiǐ and M.M. Choban's question [On remainders of rectifiable spaces, Topology Appl., 157(2010), 789-799]. Next, we show that a rectifiable space $X$ is strongly Fr$\acute{e}$chet-Urysohn if and only if $X$ is an $\alpha_{4}$-sequential space. Moreover, we discuss the metrizabilities of rectifiable spaces, which gives a partial answer for a question posed in \cite{LFC2009}. Finally, we consider the remainders of rectifiable spaces, which improve some results in \cite{A2005, A2007, A2009, Liu2009}.

In this paper, we will give a characterization for those topological spaces for which the functor Omega preserves meets of subspaces.
