Abstract:In this work, we introduce topological representations of a quiver as a system consisting of topological spaces and its relationships determined by the quiver. Such a setting gives a natural connection between topological representations of a quiver and diagrams of topological spaces. Firstly, we investigate the relation between the category of topological representations and that of linear representations of a quiver via P( ) - 𝒯𝒪𝒫^o and k -Mod, concerning (positively) graded or vertex (positively) graded modules. Secondly, we discuss the homological theory of topological representations of quivers via the -limit functor lim ^ , and use it to define the homology groups of topological representations of quivers via H _n . It is found that some properties of a quiver can be read from homology groups. Thirdly, we investigate the homotopy theory of topological representations of quivers. We define the homotopy equivalence between two morphisms in Top- Rep and show that the parallel Homotopy Axiom also holds for top-representations based on the homotopy equivalence. Last, we obtain the functor At^ from Top- Rep to Top and show that At^ preserves homotopy equivalence between morphisms. The relationship between the homotopy groups of a top-representation (T, f) and the homotopy groups of At^(T,f) is also established.

Abstract:We prove an extension of the Quillen Theorem Bn for homotopy fibres to a similar result for homotopy pullbacks and use this to obtain sufficient conditions on a pullback diagram of categories to guarantee that it be a homotopy pullback.

Abstract:In this paper, we show that every topological group is a strong small loop transfer space at the identity element. This implies that the quasitopological fundamental group of a connected locally path connected topological group is a topological group. Also, we show that every covering space of a connected locally path connected topological group is a topological group and its covering map is homomorphism.

Abstract:The topological properties of coverings and their corresponding covering approximation operators have drawn special attention because these topological properties have important applications in rough sets. In this paper, we present some topological characterizations for three covering approximation operators. In the first part, we present certain topological characterizations for the covering lower approximation operator in an infinite universe, while the topological characterizations for the first and the second types of covering upper approximation operators are studied in a finite universe. In the second part, the relationships among three operators and the relationships among three topological spaces are established. In a word, topology theory provides useful tools to study covering-based rough sets.

Abstract:A classical branched cover is an open surjection of compact Hausdorff spaces with uniformly bounded finite fibers and analogously, a quantum branched cover is a unital $C^*$ embedding admitting a finite-index expectation. We show that whenever a compact Hausdorff space $Z$ contains a one-point compactification of an uncountable set, the incidence correspondence attached to the space of cardinality-$(\le n)$ subsets of $Z$ (for $n\ge 3$) is a classical branched cover that does not dualize to a quantum one. In particular, when $Z$ is dyadic, the resulting $C^*$ embeddings are quantum branched covers precisely when $Z$ is also metrizable. This provides a partial converse to an earlier result of the author's (to the effect that continuous, unital, subhomogeneous $C^*$ bundles over compact metrizable spaces are quantum branched) and settles negatively a question of Blanchard-Gogić. There are also some positive results identifying classes of compact Hausdorff spaces (e.g. extremally disconnected or orderable) with the property that all (continuous, unital) $C^*$ bundles based thereon are quantum branched.

Abstract:Via taking connected components of preimages, a Thurston map $f: (S^2, P_f) \to (S^2, P_f)$ induces a pullback relation on the set of isotopy classes of curves in the complement of its postcritical set $P_f$. We survey known results about the dynamics of this relation, and pose some questions.

Abstract:This volume deals with the theory of finite topological spaces and its relationship with the homotopy and simple homotopy theory of polyhedra. The interaction between their intrinsic combinatorial and topological structures makes finite spaces a useful tool for studying problems in Topology, Algebra and Geometry from a new perspective. In particular, the methods developed in this manuscript are used to study Quillen’s conjecture on the poset of p-subgroups of a finite group and the Andrews-Curtis conjecture on the 3-deformability of contractible two-dimensional complexes. This self-contained work constitutes the first detailed exposition on the algebraic topology of finite spaces. It is intended for topologists and combinatorialists, but it is also recommended for advanced undergraduate students and graduate students with a modest knowledge of Algebraic Topology.

Abstract:We study the curvature of metric spaces and branched covers of Riemannian manifolds, with applications in topology and algebraic geometry. Here curvature bounds are expressed in terms of the CAT(k) inequality. We prove a general CAT(k) extension theorem, giving sufficient conditions on and near the boundary of a locally CAT(k) metric space for the completion to be CAT(k). We use this to prove that a branched cover of a complete Riemannian manifold is locally CAT(k) if and only if all tangent spaces are CAT(0) and the base has sectional curvature bounded above by k. We also show that the branched cover is a geodesic space. Using our curvature bound and a local asphericity assumption we give a sufficient condition for the branched cover to be globally CAT(k) and the complement of the branch locus to be contractible. We conjecture that the universal branched cover of complex Euclidean n-space over the mirrors of a finite Coxeter group is CAT(0). Conditionally on this conjecture, we use our machinery to prove the Arnol'd-Pham-Thom conjecture on K(pi,1) spaces for Artin groups. Also conditionally, we prove the asphericity of moduli spaces of amply lattice-polarized K3 surfaces and of the discriminant complements of all the unimodal hypersurface singularities in Arnol'd's hierarchy.

Abstract:In fairly elementary terms this paper presents, and expands upon, a recent result by Garner by which the notion of topologicity of a concrete functor is subsumed under the concept of total cocompleteness of enriched category theory. Motivated by some key results of the 1970s, the paper develops all needed ingredients from the theory of quantaloids in order to place essential results of categorical topology into the context of quantaloid-enriched category theory, a field that previously drew its motivation and applications from other domains, such as quantum logic and sheaf theory.

Abstract:The concept of relative sectional category expands upon classical sectional category theory by incorporating the pullback of a fibration along a map. Our paper aims not only to explore this extension but also to thoroughly investigate its properties. We seek to uncover how the relative sectional category unifies several homotopic numerical invariants found in recent literature. These include the topological complexity of maps according to Murillo-Wu or Scott, relative topological complexity as defined by Farber, and homotopic distance for continuous maps in the sense of Mac\'ıas-Virgós and Mosquera-Lois, among others.

Abstract:It is known that any covering space of a topological group has the natural structure of a topological group. This article discusses a noncommutative generalization of this fact. A noncommutative generalization of the topological group is a quantum group. Also there is a noncommutative generalization of a covering. The combination of these algebraic constructions yields a motive to research the generalization of coverings of topological groups. In contrary to a topological group a covering space of a quantum group does not have the natural structure of the quantum group. However a covering space of a quantum group satisfies to a condition which is weaker than the condition of a covering space of a topological group.

Quaternionic Cartan coverings and applications

Abstract:We present the topological foundation for solvability of Multiplicative Cousin problems formulated on an axially symmetric domain $\Omega \subset \mathbb H.$ In particular, we provide a geometric construction of quaternionic Cartan coverings, which are generalizations of (complex) Cartan coverings as presented in Section 4 of [FP]. Because of the requirements of symmetry inherent to the domains of definition of quaternionic regular functions, the existence of quaternionic Cartan coverings of $\Omega$ is not a consequence of existence of complex Cartan coverings, because for the latter there are no requirements for the symmetries with respect to the real axis. Due to the special role of the real axis, also the covering restricted to $\Omega \cap \mathbb R$ has to have additional properties. All these required properties were achieved by starting from a particular symmetric tiling of the symmetric set $\Omega \cap (\mathbb R + i\mathbb R)$. Finally we provide an application of these results to prove the vanishing of 'antisymmetric' cohomology groups of planar symmetric domains for $n \geq 2$.

Abstract:We solve a problem posed by Cardinali and Sastry [2] about factorization of $2$-covers of finite classical generalized quadrangles. To that end, we develop a general theory of cover factorization for generalized quadrangles, and in particular we study the isomorphism problem for such covers and associated geometries. As a byproduct, we obtain new results about semipartial geometries coming from $\theta$-covers, and consider related problems.

We also consider applications to topological spaces of families of mappings over topological quasigroups and quasirings together with their restrictions, openness, and continuous bijections. Some necessary theorems are established about the structure of topological quasigroups.

Abstract:In <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2306.07329" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2306.07329">arXiv:2306.07329</a> we established a connection between symplectic cuts of Calabi-Yau threefolds and open topological strings, and used this to introduce an equivariant deformation of the disk potential of toric branes. In this paper we establish a connection to higher-dimensional Calabi-Yau geometries by showing that the equivariant disk potential arises as an equivariant period of certain Calabi-Yau fourfolds and fivefolds, which encode moduli spaces of one and two symplectic cuts (the maximal case) by a construction of Braverman <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="alg-geom/9712024" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/alg-geom/9712024">arXiv:alg-geom/9712024</a>. Extended Picard-Fuchs equations for toric branes, capturing dependence on both open and closed string moduli, are derived from a suitable limit of the equivariant quantum cohomology rings of the higher Calabi-Yau geometries.
