Abstract:Dissolved gas concentration is one of the most reliable and sensitive characteristic states to analyze for diagnosing insulation faults in oil-immersed power transformers. However, the mapping relationship between dissolved gas concentration data and transformer fault types is fuzzy and uncertain. This paper proposes a hierarchical diagnosis model for power transformers. In this model, the concept of Cloud Model is used to establish the basic probability assignment (BPA) under different transformer fault types, and a similarity function based on Pignistic probability distance is also constructed to correct the BPA value. This approach enables the model to overcome the ambiguity in the correspondence between transformer faults and dissolved gas concentration, thereby improving the fault diagnosis performance. To evaluate the performance of this proposed model, 2008 data samples of dissolved gas concentration are used for training the model. The training results are evaluated by three types of performance indices. Comparing with the evaluation results of the model that the classical Dempster-Shafer combination rule is used, the proposed model outperforms in terms of all indices, with recall (R), precise (P) and F1-socre of 93.9%, 93.4% and 93.6%, respectively.
