Abstract:The three-dimensional coordination polymer, [Eu-2(C6H2O4S) (3)(H2O)(4)](n), has been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. The asymmetric unit comprises one Eu3+ cation, two aqua ligands and one and a half thiophene-2,5-dicarboxylate anions (the half-anion being completed by a twofold rotation axis). The Eu3+ cation is eight-coordinated in a distorted dodecahedral geometry. The crystal structure features O-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds.

Abstract:The title polymeric compound, {[ Eu2Cu(C7H3O4)(4)(H2O)(6)]center dot 2H(2)O} (n), was prepared by a hydrothermal reaction at 453 K. The Eu-III ion has a double-capped trigonal prismatic coordination geometry with an NdNO7 core, while the Cu-II ion is located on an inversion center and assumes a squareplanar coordination geometry. The pyridine-2,5-dicarboxylate dianions bridge the Eu-III and Cu-II ions, forming a three-dimensional polymeric structure.

Abstract:The crystal structure and photoluminescence spectrum of 1,7-dimethylquinolium tetrakis (thenoyltrifluoroacetonato)europate (1) are reported. Complex 1 is centrosymmetric and exibits no triboluminescence. Disorder of the thienyl rings may not be responsible for triboluminescence in centrosymmetric materials. The photoluminescence studies showed that the local symmetry of Eu(III) is C-s or C-2 Complex 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c with cell parameters, a = 10.778(3), b = 21.903(5), c = 20.470(4)Angstrom; beta = 99.25(2)degrees; V = 4770(2) Angstrom(3) and Z = 4. The structure was refined by full-matrix least squares to R = 0.0713 and R-w = 0.1090.

Abstract:In the title compound, (C2H8N)3[Eu(C 7H3NO4)3]̇2H2O, the complex anion lies on a crystallographic twofold rotation axis and the Eu III atom is coordinated by three N and six O atoms from three pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylate ligands, forming a distorted tricapped trigonal prismatic geometry. Dimethylammonium cations and non-coordinated water molecules show positional disorder.
