Abstract:Consider a real analytical Hamiltonian system of KAM type H( p, q) = N( p) + P( p, q) that has n degrees of freedom ( n > 2) and is positive definite in p. Let Omega = {omega is an element of R-n|[(k) over bar, omega] = 0, (k) over bar is an element of Z(n)}. In this paper we show that for most rotation vectors in Omega, in the sense of (n - 1)-dimensional Lebesgue measure, there is at least one (n - 1)-dimensional invariant torus. These tori are the support of corresponding minimal measures. The Lebesgue measure estimate on this set is uniformly valid for any perturbation.

Abstract:We prove that in the moduli space Md of degree d2 rational maps, any hyperbolic component in the disconnectedness locus and of Cantor circle type is a finite quotient of R4d-4-nxTn, where n is determined by dynamics. The proof uses some ideas from Riemann surface theory (Abel's Theorem), dynamical system and algebraic topology.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove that the normally uniform-hyperbolic lower dimensional invariant tori of the un-perturbed system will persist under small perturbations. The proof is based on the theory of exponentially dichotomous linear systems and an improved KAM machinery adapted for the perturbations of angle dependent unperturbed parts.

Abstract:In this article we shall provide a survey on our recent works ([M-O1], [M-O2]) and their environs on differential geometry of Lagrangian submanifolds in specific symplectic Kahler manifolds, such as complex projective spaces, complex space forms, Hermitian symmetric spaces and Kahler C-spaces. We shall discuss (1) Hamiltonian minimality and Hamiltonian stability of Lagrangian submanifolds in Hamiltonian volume minimizing problem, (2) classification problem of homogeneous Lagrangian submanifolds from the viewpoint of Lagrangian orbits and moment maps, (3) tightness problem of Lagrangian submanifolds. Moreover we shall give attention to Lagrangian submanifolds in complex hyperquadrics, which are compact Hermitian symmetric spaces of rank 2. The relationship between certain minimal Lagrangian submanifold in complex hyperquadrics and isoparametric hypersurfaces in spheres will be emphasized. Recently we gave a complete classification of compact homogeneous Lagrangian submanifolds in complex hyperquadrics and we determined the Hamiltonian stability of ALL compact minimal Lagrangian submanifolds embedded in complex hyperquadrics which are obtained as the Gauss images of homogeneous isoparametric hypersurfaces in spheres.

Abstract:We study asymptotic behaviors of solutions f to the Dirichlet problem for minimal graphs in the hyperbolic space with singular asymptotic boundaries under the assumption that the boundaries are piecewise regular with positive curvatures, a case which also arises in the study of a Chaplygin gas. We derive an estimate of such solutions by the corresponding solutions in the intersections of interior tangent balls. The positivity of curvatures plays an important role.

Abstract:Let T be the collection of all Hs(s > 2) diffeomorphisms ηφ of the cylindrical surface M ≔ S1 × [p, q], where ηφ rotates each “horizontal” circle S1 × z rigidly by an angle φ = φ(z) which is a real valued Hs function. LetM be given the flat metric g induced from the Euclidean metric of R3. We shall prove in this paper that (1) Topologically, T is a real, infinite-dimensional, smooth, path-connected and closed submanifold of Diffvol relative to the Hs topology. (2) Algebraically, T is a maximal Abelian subgroup of Diffvol, it is equal to its centralizer in Diff, and its Weyl group in Diffvol is Z2. (3) Geometrically, with respect to the g-induced right-invariant L2 metric 〈·, ·〉, T is a totally geodesic and flat Riemannian submanifold of Diffvol; we also identify its normal bundle.

Abstract:In this article, we investigate the orbit configuration spaces of some equivariant closed manifolds over simple convex polytopes in toric topology, such as small covers, quasi-toric manifolds and (real) moment-angle manifolds; especially for the cases of small covers and quasi-toric manifolds. These kinds of orbit configuration spaces have non-free group actions, and they are all noncompact, but still built via simple convex polytopes. We obtain an explicit formula of the Euler characteristic for orbit configuration spaces of small covers and quasi-toric manifolds in terms of the h-vector of a simple convex polytope. As a by-product of our method, we also obtain a formula of the Euler characteristic for the classical configuration space, which generalizes the Félix-Thomas formula. In addition, we also study the homotopy type of such orbit configuration spaces. In particular, we determine an equivariant strong deformation retraction of the orbit configuration space of 2 distinct orbit-points in a small cover or a quasi-toric manifold, which allows to further study the algebraic topology of such an orbit configuration space by using the Mayer-Vietoris spectral sequence.

Abstract:This paper concerns two aspects: integrability of natural Hamiltonian systems on a Riemannian manifold and the topological entropy of the Hamiltonian flow. First we characterize the integrable Hamiltonian systems on the suspension of any finite dimensional toric automorphism. Second we prove that for the integrable Hamiltonian system having its Hamiltonian H with total energy no less than e H there exists a subset Ω⊂𝒟:={e∈ℝ; e≥ e_H } of Lebesgue measure zero such that the Hamiltonian flow restricted to each energy surface H = e with e∈𝒟\Ω has a positive topological entropy.

Abstract:For an integrable Hamiltonian systems with $d$ degrees of freedom ($d\geq 2$), we consider quantitatively the existence and non-existence of the flow-invariant Lagrangian torus with given frequency under the perturbation beyond the scope of the classical KAM method in the $C^r$ topology. As applications, the non-existence result gives a partial answer to an open problem on non-existence of invariant circles by Mather from 1988. The existence result sheds a light on another open problem on the existence of invariant circles with lower regularity by Mather from 1998.

Abstract:Consider a Hamiltonian system of KAM type, H(p,q)=N(p)+P(p,q), with n degrees of freedom (n>2), where the Hessian of N is nondegenerate. For one resonance condition =0, \ (I∈ℤ n ), there is an immersed (n−1) dimensional submanifold ? in action variable space, where almost every point corresponds to a resonant torus for the unperturbed system, which is foliated by (n−1) dimensional ergodic components. It is shown in this paper that there is a subset of ? with positive (n−1)-dim Lebesgue measure, such that for each resonant torus corresponding to a point in this set at least two (n−1)-dimensional tori can survive perturbations. Generically, one is hyperbolic and the other one is elliptic.

Abstract:In this paper we study the connectedness of the level sets of integrable systems that have only non-degenerate singular points and extend complexity one $T$-spaces with proper moment maps. Our main result states that if there are no singular points with a hyperbolic block and connected $T$-stabilizer, then each level set is connected. Moreover, we prove that the above condition is necessary if either some reduced space is simply connected or the moment map for the integrable system is generic in a natural sense.

Abstract:A variety of local index formulas is constructed for quantum Hamiltonians with periodic boundary conditions. All dimensions of physical space as well as many symmetry constraints are covered, notably one-dimensional systems in Class DIII as well as two- and three-dimensional systems in Class AII. The constructions are based on several periodic variations of the spectral localizer and are rooted in the existence of underlying fuzzy tori. For these latter, a general invariant theory is developed.

Abstract:In this paper, we first explore holomorphic Hamiltonian systems. In particular, we define action functionals for those systems and show that holomorphic trajectories obey an action principle, i.e., that they can be understood - in some sense - as critical points of these action functionals. As an application, we use holomorphic Hamiltonian systems to establish a relation between Lefschetz fibrations and almost toric fibrations. During the investigation of action functionals for holomorphic Hamiltonian systems, we observe that the complex structure $J$ corresponding to a holomorphic Hamiltonian system poses strong restrictions on the existence of certain trajectories. For instance, no non-trivial holomorphic trajectories with complex tori as domains can exist in $\mathbb{C}^{2n}$ due to the maximum principle. To lift this restriction, we generalize the notion of holomorphic Hamiltonian systems to systems with non-integrable almost complex structures $J$ leading us to the definition of pseudo-holomorphic Hamiltonian systems. We show that these systems exhibit properties very similar to their holomorphic counterparts, notably, that they are also subject to an action principle. Furthermore, we prove that the integrability of $J$ is equivalent to the closedness of the "pseudo-holomorphic symplectic" form. Lastly, we show that, aside from dimension four, the set of proper pseudo-holomorphic Hamiltonian systems is open and dense in the set of pseudo-holomorphic Hamiltonian systems by considering deformations of holomorphic Hamiltonian systems. This implies that proper pseudo-holomorphic Hamiltonian systems are generic.

Abstract:In this paper we characterize the Liouvillian integrable orthogonal separable Hamiltonian systems on T 2 for a given metric, and prove that the Hamiltonian flow on any compact level hypersurface has zero topological entropy. Furthermore, by examples we show that the integrable Hamiltonian systems on T 2 can have complicated dynamical phenomena. For instance they can have several families of invariant tori, each family is bounded by the homoclinic-loop-like cylinders and heteroclinic-loop-like cylinders. As we know, it is the first concrete example to present the families of invariant tori at the same time appearing in such a complicated way.

Abstract:We study the existence of infinite-dimensional invariant tori in a mechanical system of infinitely many rotators weakly interacting with each other. We consider explicitly interactions depending only on the angles, with the aim of discussing in a simple case the analyticity properties to be required on the perturbation of the integrable system in order to ensure the persistence of a large measure set of invariant tori with finite energy. The proof we provide of the persistence of the invariant tori implements the renormalisation group scheme based on the tree formalism, i. e., the graphical representation of the solutions of the equations of motion in terms of trees, which has been widely used in finite-dimensional problems. The method is very effectual and flexible: it naturally extends, once the functional setting has been fixed, to the infinite-dimensional case with only minor technical-natured adaptations.

Abstract:In this paper we first give the sufficient and necessary conditions in order that two classes of polynomial Kolmogorov systems in R+4 are Hamiltonian systems. Then we study the integrability of these Hamiltonian systems in the Liouville sense. Finally, we investigate the global dynamics of the completely integrable Lotka–Volterra Hamiltonian systems in R+4. As an application of the invariant subsets of these systems, we obtain topological classifications of the 3-submanifolds in R+4 defined by the hypersurfaces axy+bzw+cx2y+dxy2+ez2w+fzw2=h, where a,b,c,d,e,f,w and h are real constants.
