Abstract:The Chrysacris Zheng, 1983 is a median genus in Acrididae, which contains 18 species [Tu & Cheng, 1964; Zheng, 1983; Lian & Zheng, 1987; Li & Chen, 1988; Zheng, 1988; Liu, 1990; Ren et al, 1991; Liang & Jia, 1992; Zheng et al, 1992; Ren et al, 1993; Zhang & Zheng, 1993; Zheng, 1993; Zheng & Shi, 1993; Niu, 1994; Ren et al, 1994; Zheng et al, 1995; Yin et al, 1996; Ren 2001; Ren et al, 2002; Yin et al, 2003; Zheng et al, 2011; Dong et al, 2015; Eades, et al, 2017; Zhang et al, 2017], mainly distributed in Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Henan and Guizhou provinces of China. A new species of the genus Chrysacris is described from Inner Mongolia, China in this paper. Type specimens are deposited in the Natural Museum of Hebei University, Baoding, Hebei, China.

Abstract:The karyotype of Anthocoris montanus Zheng (Anthocoridae, Heteroptera, Cimicomorpha) is described in detail forthe first time through the use of Giemsa staining and "squashed" slides. The species displays the chromosome complement n =14A + XY, and sex chromosomes undergo post-reductional meiosis. Moreover, male meiosis is achiasmatic in this species. Thisfeature is significant in clarifying phylogenetic relationships among families of the Cimicomorpha for the future.

Abstract:A new species in the genus Conophymacris Willemse, 1933 from Yunnan, China is described. The new species Conophymacris reni sp. nov. is similar to C. jiulongensis Zheng et al., 2009, but differs from latter in width of vertex between eyes of male equal to 2.8 width of frontal ridge between antennae, epiproct of male width longer than length, cercus of male apical part not wider, tegmina extending over the hind margin of first abdominal tergum, hind tibia all red, epiphallus ancorae small, lower than anterior projection, lophi not acute, width of subgenital plate shorter than its length and hind margin with 1 tooth in female. Type specimens are deposited in the Natural Museum of Hebei University, Baoding, Hebei, China.

Abstract:A new species, Atractomorpha taiwanensis sp. n. from Taiwan, China, is described in this paper. The new species is similar to A. micropenna Zheng, 1992, but it differs from the latter by the following: lateral lobe of pronotum without membranous area near posterior margin; the tegmina strongly shortened, not reaching ( in male) the midpoint of hind femur; and wings very small, not reaching the midpoint of tegmina. A key to all known species of the genus Atractomorpha from China is given. The type specimens are deposited in the Museum of Hebei University, China.

Abstract:Acaropsella nanchangensis sp.nov. is similar to Acaropsella rohdendorfi (Volgin 1962), but differs from the latter in : hysterosomal shield with six pairs of spatulate setae in this new species, but eight pairs of spatulate setae in A.rohdendorfi. gnathosoma and papal femora of the new species is bigger than that of A.rohdendorfi, palpal femora 1.5 times longer than maximum, width, setae on femora fusiform, coarsely pubescent, crenate, and piliform. Type specimens are deposited in the Department of Biological Science and Technology,Nanchang University.

Abstract:A new genus Maculaprosbole of Tettigarctidae with a new species M. zhengi is described based on a complete fossil forewing from the Mesozoic of northeastern China. Due to its broad costal area and clavus, Maculaprosbole zhengi gen. et sp. n. can be attributed to the subfamily Cicadoprosbolinae. This genus is similar to the genera Sanmai and Hirtaprosbole in coloration pattern and forewing venation, respectively. However, it differs from Hirtaprosbole in crossvein r-m absent and apical CuA section strongly curved, running along the nodal line for a distance, and Sanmai in transverse coloration mainly focusing on the postnodal area. Herein, the prominent coloration pattern of this new taxon is discussed.

Abstract:Two species of the long-legged sac spider genus Cheiracanthium C. L. Koch, 1839 collected from China are diagnosed and described as new to science: Cheiracanthium bannaensis sp. nov. (♂♀) from Yunnan Province and C. bifurcatum sp. nov. (♂♀) from Xinjiang Uyger Autonomous Region. Photos of the habitus and copulatory organs are given. In addition, DNA barcode information of the two new species is provided.

Abstract:A fossil species of the extant colydiine genus Bulasconotus Ślipiński & Lawrence, B. carinisternus Li, Ślipiński & Cai sp. nov., is reported from mid-Cretaceous Kachin amber of northern Myanmar. The new species shares with extant Bulasconotus the 3-segmented antennal club, externally open procoxal cavities, and similar sculpture on the pronotum and elytra, but could be recognized by the medially carinated prosternal process. The present discovery provides a valuable example of morphological stasis in the cylindrical bark beetles.

Abstract:A new aphid species, Chaitoregma kirlia sp. nov. , from Fujian and Guangdong, China, is described, which feeds on bamboo. The diagnostic morphological characteristics of the new species are described and illustrated. A key to apterous viviparous females of Chaitoregma species is provided. The COI barcode sequence of this new species is also provided. Due to its unique morphological characteristics, the diagnosis of the genus has been revised. Other species within the genus are also reviewed and discussed.

Abstract:Kribiodosis Kieffer, 1921, an African genus of Chironomini (Diptera: Chironomidae), is newly recorded from the Oriental region through a new species K. cantonensis sp. n. Detailed descriptions of the male, female and a DNA barcode are provided. With the inclusion of the new species bearing scutal tubercle and fused tibial comb, the generic diagnosis needs revision and expansion. The phylogenetic position of Kribiodosis within the tribe Chironomini is explored based on five concatenated genetic makers (18S, 28S, CAD1, CAD4 and COI-3P) using both mixed-model Bayesian inference and maximum likelihood methods. Kribiodosis is placed as a core member of the Microtendipes group but its precise sister group remains unclear. Inclusion of the analysis of Nilodosis Kieffer, another Chironomini genus with an African-Oriental distribution, reveals an unexpected robust position as sister to a large and diverse inclusive group of many Chironomini.

Abstract:An annotated catalogue of Acrididae (Orthoptera: Caelifera) of Pakistan and its two adjacent territories is presented. A total of 169 species (including subspecies) belonged to 66 genera and 29 tribes with 14 subfamilies are reported from this region. Oedipodinae (56) was the most species-rich subfamily, followed by Gomphocerinae (30), Acridinae (15), Calliptaminae with (12), Eyprepocnemidinae (12) Oxyinae (9), Hemiacridinae (10), Cyrtacanthacridinae (8), Catantopinae (7), Tropidopolinae and Teratodinae each with (3), Spathosterninae (2) and Coptacrinae, and Melanoplinae are represented by a single species. Pakistan harbors about 51.76% of the Acridomorpha species recorded for subtropical Asia, including 13.61% of the Caelifera, are endemic. Since the first checklist was published in 1990, which listed 39 species, hundreds of additional specimens from the region have been collected and databased, new species have been described, and the taxonomic status of some species has changed. Due to a lack of long-term studies for most localities, several species that were new at the time of collection are meanwhile described from other areas of Southeastern Asia. Specimen data from insect collections, databases, scientific literature, and unpublished records were compared to the original checklist. Our list includes three endemic species, 11 rare species, seven first-time reports, including five expected and 18 dubious records. Additionally, there are a few species from protected areas, although no consistent analysis has yet been done on species restricted to protected areas in Pakistan. A detailed account of subfamilies, endemic and rare species, and those anticipated to occur in Pakistan is also presented. This checklist provides baseline data for researchers and the public, strengthening the pest framework for management.

The new species is included in a key to the described species of the genus. The subgeneric name Cryptoxiloides Capek & Capecki, 1979 is used to accommodate the Palaearctic species in the genus Cryptoxilos Viereck.

Abstract:A new green lacewing species Apertochrysa roseusfrontata sp. nov. and a newly recorded Plesiochrysa ramburi (Schneider, 1851) (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae: Chrysopinae) from South China are described based on the morphological characters of both adults and larvae. Abstract:A revision of the genus Apterodela Rivalier, 1950 is presented. The new subgenus Protoapterodela subgen. nov. with Apterodela shirakii (W. Horn, 1927) as its type species is established. The lectotype and the paralectotype of Cicindela ovipennis Bates, 1883 and Cicindela shirakii W. Horn, 1927 as well as the neotype of Cicindela lobipennis Bates, 1888 are designated. Apterodela (s. str.) bivirgulata (Fairmaire, 1889), stat. rest. is extracted from the synonym of Apterodela (s. str.) lobipennis (Bates, 1888) and is considered as a separate species. Two new species and one new subspecies from China are described as well: Apterodela (s. str.) alopecomma sp. nov.—from Sichuan Province, Apterodela (s. str.) latissima sp. nov.—from Yunnan Province, and Apterodela (s. str.) bivirgulata occidentalis ssp. nov.—from Qinghai, Gansu, Shaanxi, Henan, Shanxi, Sichuan Provinces, and Inner Mongolia Autonomus Region. A key to identifying the species of the genus Apterodela is provided, and its taxonomic status is examined.

Abstract:Based on examining 401 specimens of Callosciurus erythraeus in Southern China, we find there are distinct differences between the new subspecies on Callosciurus erythraeus zhaotongensis which distributes in Zhaotong Area, Northeastern Yunnan and other subspecies of Callosciurus erythraeus. Pelage color: dorsal pelage is brown-yellow, and there is a slightly darker area in the center. Ventral pelage, from chest to belly, is chestnut reddish, but throat and chin are brown-grey; there are not any significant differences between the back and the ventral of the tail, the terminal of tail hair is brown-yellow, subterminal is black, and there is a brown-yellow (slightly yellow-whitish) area at the end of tail; the backs of feet are brown, with slightly blacker. After more analysis have been made on external and cranial measurements (coefficient of difference), the results indicate: at least one coefficient of difference between Callosciurus erythraeus which from Zhaotong Area, and the other 13 subspecies of Callosciurus erythraeus respectively is over 1.28, that is to say this group is a new subspecies: Callosciurus erythraeus zhaotongensis subsp.nov..
