Abstract:The genus Corynoneura Winnertz, 1846 from Zhejiang Province in Oriental China is reviewed. Corynoneura aggeris Fu, sp. n., Corynoneura lateralis Fu, sp. n., Corynoneura petitspectabilis Fu, sp. n., Corynoneura prolata Fu, sp. n., and Corynoneura recta Fu, sp. n. are described and illustrated based on adult males. Corynoneura lobata Edwards, 1924 and Corynoneura tokarapequea Sasa et Suzuki, 1995 are redescribed and illustrated based on newly collected material. A key to known adult males of Corynoneura from Zhejiang Province is given.

Abstract:The genus Corynoneura Winnertz, 1846 from Hunan Province in Oriental China is reviewed. Four new species, C.enormis Fu sp. nov., C.gibbera Fu sp. nov., C.incuria Fu sp. nov., and C.longshanensis Fu sp. nov. are described and illustrated based on adult males. Sequence data from the 16S rDNA gene were used to infer relationships between these species and complement morphological delineation. Sequences from the mitochondrial large ribosomal subunit (16S rDNA) from these species are uploaded to the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI). Relationships were inferred using the Neighbor-Joining method based on 16S rDNA.

Abstract:The genus Corynoneura Winnertz is partly revised on the basis of materials from the Russian Far East and Eastern Siberia. Adult male of a new species, C. sikhotealinensis sp. nov., as well as pupa of C. schleei Makarchenko et Makarchenko and pupa with associated pharate male of Corynoneura sp. are described. Adult male of C. fujiundecima Sasa, earlier erroneously determined as C. lacustris Edwards, is briefly redescribed and annotated. DNA barcoding results of C. kadalinka Makarchenko et Makarchenko from Eastern Siberia (Baikal Lake basin) are also provided in comparison with closely related C. carriana Edwards from Sweden. As a result of the analysis, supported with sufficiently significant morphological differences between males of these two distant populations, the two species were combined into one, C. carriana, with two subspecies: C. carriana carriana Edwards (nominotypical) and C. carriana kadalinka Makarchenko et Makarchenko stat. nov. A morphological redescriptions of the adult male and pupa, as well as the 4th instar larva (here described for the first time) of C. carriana kadalinka in comparison with specimens of populations of the C. carriana carriana from Sweden and the Urals are presented. A key to adult males and pupae of the Corynoneura species from the Russian Far East and Eastern Siberia is also provided.

Abstract:SummaryPopulations ofHemicriconemoides chitwoodi,H. fujianensis,H. parasinensis, andCriconemoides myungsugaeisolated in China from the rhizosphere soil of woody perennials were characterised molecularly, important morphological details being elucidated by SEM observations. The morphometric data of the Chinese populations were compared with all previously reported populations. The SEM observations ofen faceviews indicated thatH. chitwoodiandH. parasinensishave lip patterns belonging to type 1 and phylogenetically both species clustered with otherHemicriconemoidesspecies that showed the same kind of lip pattern. On the other hand,H. fujianensisshowed a lip pattern belonging to type 2 and phylogenetically appears basal to the above-mentioned clade. SEM observation ofC. myungsugaeshowed that the first lip annulus forms a non-projecting uninterrupted disc and the labial annulus is a rectangular shape with slight dorsal and ventral indentations. Phylogenetic relationships amongCriconemoidesspp. are apparently not well resolved. The present study provides updated morphological descriptions, molecular diagnostics and phylogenetic relationships ofH. chitwoodi,H. fujianensis,H. parasinensis, andC. myungsugae, the last species being the first report from China.

Abstract:Currently the genus Corynoneura Winnertz comprises 10 species already cited or described for the Neotropical region. Inthe present paper 15 new species are described for the Neotropics: 12 new species are described from Brazil, five of themare described as male, female, pupa and larva, Corynoneura canchim sp. n., C. diogo sp. n., C. espraiado sp. n., C.humbertoi sp. n., C. salviniatilis sp. n.; three as male, pupa and larva, C. franciscoi sp. n.; C. longiantenna sp. n. and C.renata sp. n.; the species C. sisbiota sp. n. as male, female and pupa; C. bodoquena sp. n. as male and pupa and C. boraceiasp. n. and C. vidiapodeme sp. n. as males. Corynoneura trondi sp. n. is described from Chile (male, pupa), C. guanacastesp. n. from Costa Rica (male) and C. zempoala sp. n. from Mexico (male). The knowledge of the distribution ofCorynoneura fortispicula, C. sertaodaquina, C. septadentata and C. unicapsulata all species described by Wiedenbrugand Trivinho-Strixino (2011) as well as Corynoneura ferelobata Sublette et Sasa is extended. A larval morphotype is also included. Keys for males, females, pupae and larvae to known species of the Neotropical Corynoneura are given.

Abstract:Kribiodosis Kieffer, 1921, an African genus of Chironomini (Diptera: Chironomidae), is newly recorded from the Oriental region through a new species K. cantonensis sp. n. Detailed descriptions of the male, female and a DNA barcode are provided. With the inclusion of the new species bearing scutal tubercle and fused tibial comb, the generic diagnosis needs revision and expansion. The phylogenetic position of Kribiodosis within the tribe Chironomini is explored based on five concatenated genetic makers (18S, 28S, CAD1, CAD4 and COI-3P) using both mixed-model Bayesian inference and maximum likelihood methods. Kribiodosis is placed as a core member of the Microtendipes group but its precise sister group remains unclear. Inclusion of the analysis of Nilodosis Kieffer, another Chironomini genus with an African-Oriental distribution, reveals an unexpected robust position as sister to a large and diverse inclusive group of many Chironomini.

Abstract:A new species in the genus Conophymacris Willemse, 1933 from Yunnan, China is described. The new species Conophymacris reni sp. nov. is similar to C. jiulongensis Zheng et al., 2009, but differs from latter in width of vertex between eyes of male equal to 2.8 width of frontal ridge between antennae, epiproct of male width longer than length, cercus of male apical part not wider, tegmina extending over the hind margin of first abdominal tergum, hind tibia all red, epiphallus ancorae small, lower than anterior projection, lophi not acute, width of subgenital plate shorter than its length and hind margin with 1 tooth in female. Type specimens are deposited in the Natural Museum of Hebei University, Baoding, Hebei, China.

Abstract:Rheocricotopus (Psilocricotopus) calviculus sp. n. and R. (P.) villiculus sp. n. from China are described as male imagines. The species are closely related to the previously described R. (P.) orientalis Wang forming a new group, the orientalis group, which eventually may deserve the rank of subgenus or even genus. The group is distinguished by lacking a humeral pit, numerous sensilla clavata on third palpomere, cuneiform wings, no or few setae on squama, long legs, banded abdomen, very long inferior volsella, gonocoxite with apical extensions, and gonostylus with a median triangular projection.

Abstract:The species-rich earwig family Forficulidae remains relatively understudied in China. This study reports a new species of Chelidura Latreille, 1825 (Forficulidae: Anechurinae), Chelidura siguniangshana sp. nov. , from central Sichuan Province of China, and provides detailed descriptions and illustrations. Notable characteristics of the new Chelidura species include slender and medially straight forceps, shallow lateral tubercles on the ultimate tergite, elongated genitalia, and slender, asymmetrical parameres in males. In addition, Parachelidura liui gen. et sp. nov. is described based on a male specimen also found in Sichuan Province. The new genus is distinguished by the complete absence of tegmina and wings, coupled with a robust molar-tooth in the basal quarter of the male forceps.

The new species is included in a key to the described species of the genus. The subgeneric name Cryptoxiloides Capek & Capecki, 1979 is used to accommodate the Palaearctic species in the genus Cryptoxilos Viereck.

Abstract:A new aphid species, Chaitoregma kirlia sp. nov. , from Fujian and Guangdong, China, is described, which feeds on bamboo. The diagnostic morphological characteristics of the new species are described and illustrated. A key to apterous viviparous females of Chaitoregma species is provided. The COI barcode sequence of this new species is also provided. Due to its unique morphological characteristics, the diagnosis of the genus has been revised. Other species within the genus are also reviewed and discussed.

Abstract:Approximately 120 species of the chrysomelid genus Gonioctena are currently known from Palaearctic, Nearctic and Oriental Regions, amongst them, 51 occur in China.Two new species of the genus Gonioctena, G. klapperichi sp. nov. (Fujian) and G. oberthueri sp. nov. (Sichuan), are described and illustrated from China. Distinguishing characters from closely-related species are presented, respectively. The Gonioctena fauna of China now includes 53 species, of which about 60% are endemic. Ovoviviparity is newly recorded in G. oberthueri sp. nov.
