Abstract:Diode-pumped micro green laser with Nd:YAG KTP, operating at 532nm with 5.6mW single longitudinal mode output, is introduced. The feature of the laser is that the output is single longitudinal mode and has no green noise. The dimensions of the laser are 36mm��32mm��26mm.

Abstract:Nd:GdVO4 has the advantages of a small thermal expansion coefficient, a large absorption bandwidth, and a large absorption and emission cross section, making it a good gain material for LED-pumping without active temperature control. In this paper, the LED-pumped Nd:GdVO4 laser was first generated in the quasi-continuous-wave and the passively Q-switched regime. With the incident pump energy of 8.0 mJ, the Nd:GdVO4 laser demonstrated energy of 195 μJ at 1063 nm in the quasi-continuous-wave regime, the slope efficiency was 4.7

Abstract:Passively Q-switched green output with Cr 4+ :YAG as saturable absorber and PPMgLN as the frequency doubling crystal was realized in a compact diode end-pumped Nd:YVO 4 laser. The green light output power, pulse width, pulse repetition rate, pulse energy and peak power with three Cr 4+ :YAG of different initial transmissions were investigated. The maximum average output power was 1.2 W at the pump power of 4.0 W and the maximum conversion efficiency was 30% with the Cr 4+ :YAG of 90% initial transmission. The maximum pulse energy and minimum pulse width were 10.9 μJ and 12 ns with the Cr 4+ :YAG of 75% initial transmission.

Abstract:We report a nonlinear-mirror mode-locked diode-pumped solid-state Nd:GYSGG laser operating at 1061 nm. The nonlinear mirror comprises a periodically poled LiNbO3(PPLN) crystal and a dichroic mirror. Continuous-wave mode-locked laser with an output power of 450 mw is obtained under a diode pump power of 5.5 W at 808 nm. The repetition rate of the mode-locked laser is 97.1 MHz and the bandwidth of spectral is 1.3 nm. Considering the group velocity mismatch (GVM) of PPLN, we estimate the minimum pulse width is about 9 ps.

Abstract:A compact efficient single-longitudinal-mode green laser has been demonstrated in a simple resonator formed by a coated Nd:YVO/sub 4/ crystal and a coated KTP crystal. The thermal-induced lens in the crystal provides a stable resonator with a good overlap of laser mode and pump size due to the circular pump profile of the fiber-coupled diode. Under the optimum cavity-length condition, 206 mW of green output power corresponding to a conversion efficiency 26.8% was obtained when pumped by a 770 mW fiber-coupled laser diode.

Abstract:In this Letter, we demonstrate a nonlinear-mirror (NLM) mode-locked diode-pumped solid-state Nd.YVO4 laser operating at 1342nm, in which the NLM comprises a periodically poled LiNbO3 crystal and a dichroic mirror. The self-starting threshold for cw mode locking is 1.5W, which is significantly lower than that of saturable absorber mode locking. An average power of 1.52W at 1342nm is obtained under diode pump power of 10W at 808nm, with the slope efficiency being up to 16.8%. The pulse width and the repetition rate of the mode-locked laser output are about 9.5 ps and 101 MHz, respectively. (C) 2011 Optical Society of America

Abstract:Here we report LD pumped solidified miniature Nd:YAG laser and Nd:YVO 4 laser with KTP crystal as intracavity frequency doubling material. Using 1W LD 70 mW and 80 mW of the green laser output in TEMoo mode have been measured for Nd:YAG laser and Nd:YVO4 laser, respectively. The output stability is better than �� 3% and the beam quality coefficient M2 is smaller than 1.2. The laser is small is size and very suitable for optical recording and storage. ?2005 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

Abstract:Miniature solid state YVO4/KTP green laser with high performance has been developed. A special temperature control technique is realized and all elements in the laser are fixed into a whole with epoxy to elevate the laser efficiency, output power and laser beam point stability. An output power of 195 mW of CW 0.53 μm green laser in the TEM00 mode has been measured from the miniature green laser pumped by 1 W LD. The beam point stability is smaller than 0.01 mrad per hour and 0.03 mrad for 24 hours.

Abstract:Many deffercnt diode-pumped single-frequency solid-atate lasers have been demonstrated in recent years. The LD pumped tunable single frequency polarized laser is of greet importance for precision measurements. A LD pumped 1.06μm single frequency Nd:YAG micro-chip laser with 120GHz of tunable frequency range and 0.5 mW of output power has been reported. For some important applications the higher laser power and polarized laser beam are needed. We have reported the LD pumped CW and pulsed micro-chip Nd:YVO4 laser with high polarized output power. Here we report the LD pumped tunable single frequency Nd:YVO4 laser with higher output power and polarized beam.

Abstract:The green noise of Nd:YVO4/KTP intracavity-doubled green lasers vs cavity length and pump power had been measured. The maximum output power of the laser diode in the experimental setup was 1 w. The experimental data show that the green noise decreases with the increase of cavity length, while it increases with the increase of pump power. The key factors influencing the green output stability at multilongitudinal modes had been found through theoretical analysis using numerical method. The calculated result is in good agreement with the experiment.

Abstract:the realization of high repetition rate passively Q-switched monolithic microlaser is a challenge since a decade. To achieve this goal, we report here on the first passively Q-switched diode-pumped microchip laser based on the association of a Nd:GdVO4 crystal and a Cr4+:YAG saturable absorber. The monolithic design consists of 1 mm long 1% doped Nd:GdVO4 optically contacted on a 0.4 mm long Cr4+:YAG leading to a plano-plano cavity. A repetition rate as high as 85 kHz is achieved. The average output power is approximately 400 mW for 2.2 W of absorbed pump power and the pulse length is 1.1 ns.

Abstract:In this letter we reported a LD end-pumped high power Nd:GdVO4 microchip laser. With a 0.5 at.%, 1.5 mm, T = 1% Nd:GdVO4 crystal, 10.1 W maximum output was achieved, corresponding an optical-optical conversion efficiency of 42.3%. The pump threshold was as low as 0.21 W.

Abstract:An LD pumped YAG-KTP intracavity frequency doubling laser has been developed. A cw linearly polarized green laser at 532 nm is obtained. The pumping threshold, output power, and slope efficiency are 12 mW, 2.5 mW, and 5%, respectively. The influence of the states of pump light on transverse modes of the frequency doubling laser has been studied. The experimental methods and results are reported briefly.

Abstract:Using a Ti:sapphire laser as the pumping source in the CW mode, the self-Q-switched laser in the co-doped Cr4+,Nd3+:YAG microchip with 1mm thickness was demonstrated. The output Q-switched traces are very stable, the threshold pumping power is as low as 30 mW, the pulse duration is as short as 100 ns. And the pulse width keeps constant and pulse repetition rate is varied with the variation of the pumping power. The slope efficiency is varied with the transmission of output coupler at 1064nm, and the slope efficiency is as high as 20% for 5% transmission of output coupler at 1064nm. This can lead to develop the diode laser pumped monolithic self-Q-switched solid-state microchip lasers.

Abstract:A compact diode-pumped passively Q-switched laser has been demonstrated with a coated Cr/sup 4+/:YAG crystal as both a saturable absorber and an output coupler. When CW pumped with a fibre coupled laser diode, the laser produces pulses of 5-30 ns duration, with a repetition rate of 75-90 kHz. The highest peak power was 430 W, obtained at 1.6 W of pump power, which is a 520 times enhancement in comparison to an output power of 830 mW under CW operation.

Abstract:The acoustooptic Q-switched Nd: YVO4 intracavity frequency-doubled laser is reported. Pulse train of 532nm green laser in TEM00 mode with threshold pumping power of 27 mW has been measured. Under continuous-wave pumping power of 570mW, the peak power of output beam exceeding 1.1 kW with pulse width of 4.6ns is demonstrated. The fluctuation of output power is less than ��2% when the temperature change is smaller than ��5��C. It is found that under the range of pump level in the experiment the output power of 1.064��m laser increases gradually to a maximum then decreases, while the output power of 532nm laser increases always when the pumping power increases. The pulse width decreases gradually to a minimum with pump power increasing, and the pulse width of 532nm laser is about a half of that of 1.064��m. High-quality acoustooptic switcher is very important for improving the device.

Abstract:In this letter, we report a diode-pumped nano-second laser with the output energy 10 J, the repetition rate 50 Hz, and the average power 500 W. The main amplifier was made up of eight amplify modules. Each amplify module was pumped by an 808 nm laser diode and cooled by water from the back end of the Nd:YAG slab. To our knowledge, this represents the highest pulse repetition rate for the 10 J class nano-second single-aperture Nd:YAG laser. The beam quality was controlled by means of mechanical design and adjustment and compensation by a home-made deforming mirror. The beam quality was controlled well with the beam quality of the laser 2.61DL.

We studied the performance of the oscillator at the repetition rates from 100 to 500 Hz. At 500 Hz, 61 mJ, 5 ns of 1064 nm infrared light pulses were obtained with an oscillator-amplifier system. The peak power of the pulse was 12 MW. By frequency doubling with a LiB3O5(LBO) crystal, 32.5 mJ, 4.6 ns of 532 nm green light was achieved, corresponding to a peak power of 7 MW. Abstract:Passively Q-switched Er:Yb:LuAl3(BO3)4 pulse microlasers were investigated at a low repetition frequency of 10-200 Hz. End-pumped by a 975.6 nm quasi-continuous-wave laser diode with pump pulse width of 0.5 ms and period of 10 ms, a stable 1522 nm pulse microlaser with single pulse energy of 48.3 μJ, duration of 1.9 ns, repetition frequency of 100 Hz, peak output power of 25.4 kW and beam quality factor less than 1.2 was realized at a pump beam waist diameter of 260 μm. This eye-safe passively Q-switched pulse microlaser with high peak output power and narrow duration can be used in the portable laser rangefinder.

Abstract:A laser diode (LD) driven by a DC bias and superposed pulse current is used as the pump source. A F-P laser composed of a Nd~(3+)∶YVO_4 crystal is end-pumped by the LD. Using the gain-switching technique, the output pulse width can be changed with the amplitude and pulse width of (LD's) driven current. The repetition rate of output laser can be exactly controlled by pumping repetition rate. A compact, all-solid-state short-pulse laser with stable single mode output and controllable high repetition rate is obtained. It can act as an ideal pulsed seed source and be applied in many fields, for instance, laser ranging, LIDAR and etc.
