Abstract:The chemical constituents of Dracocephalum tanguticum collected in Zhangxian county of Gansu province were studied by column chromatography,thin layer chromatography and re-crystallization,and ten compounds were isolated from the plant and identified by ~1H NMR and ~(13)C NMR as 3-hydroxylupa-20(29)-en-28-oic acid(1),lupa——20(29)-en-3,28-diol(2),3-oxo-olean-12-en-28-oic acid(3),2α,3β-dihydroxyursolic acid(4),3β,24-dihydroxyurs-12-en-28-oic acid(5),stig-mastan-3-one(6),sitoindosideⅠ(7),β-sitosterol(8),and oleanolic acid(9),daucosterol(10).Of the compounds,lupa——20(29)-en-3,28-diol(2),3-oxo-olean-12-en-28-oic acid(3),2α,3β-dihydroxyursolic acid(4),3β,24-dihydroxyurs-12-en-28-oic acid(5),stig-mastan-3-one(6),sitoindosideⅠ(7) were found in Dracocephalum for the first time,and that 3-hydroxylupa-20(29)-en-28-oic acid(1) andβ-sitosterol(8) were found in the plant for the first time.

Abstract:A systematic phytochemical examination of the whole plant Dracocephalum forrestii led to the isolation of 4 new and 65 known chemical constituents. By detailed 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic analyses, the new compounds were identified as 4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenylethanol 8- O-[(6- O-syringoyl)- beta- D-glucopyranoside] (1), 3,4,5-trimethoxyphenylethanol beta- D-glucopyranoside ( 2), 4- O-[ beta- D-glucopyranosyl-(1 --> 3)- alpha- L-rhamnopyranosyl]phenylethylcinnamamide (3), and 9''- O- N-butyl lithospermate (4). The new isolates were evaluated for inhibitory activities against LPS-induced NO production in RAW 264.7 macrophages. Compound 2 revealed a moderate effect without any cytotoxicity under the assayed concentrations.

Abstract:Object To study the chemical constituents of Dracaena cochinchinensis (Lour.) S. C. Chen. Methods The constituents were isolated on silica gel chromatography, preparative TLC, and spectral data. Results Six compounds were isolated and identified from the resin of D. cochinchinensis as: 1, 2, 4, 5-tetrachloro-3, 6-dimethoxybenzene (Ⅰ), cholest-4α-methyl-7-en-3β-ol (Ⅱ), cholest-4α-methyl-7-en-3-one (Ⅲ), hexacosane (Ⅳ), cholest-7-en-3β-ol (Ⅴ), cholest-7-en-3-one (Ⅵ). Conclusion Compounds Ⅳ-Ⅵ were isolated from D. cochinchinensis for the first time.

Abstract:Chemical examination of aerial parts of Dracocephalum heterophyllum resulted in isolation of phenolic alkaloids, including two flavonoidal alkaloids, drahebephins A and B, one imidazole alkaloid with a phenolic substituent, drahebenine, together with 15 other known compounds. Their structures were established by extensive spectroscopic data analyses. Due to the stereogenic center in the pyrrolidin-2-one ring, the flavonoidal alkaloids are chiral, although they were isolated as racemates. The enantiomers were separated by HPLC using a chiral phase and stereochemically characterized by circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy. The structure of compound drahebenine was established by X-ray crystallography.

Abstract:To study the chemical constituents from the leaves of Dendrocalamus latiflorus,the compounds were isolated by column chromatography on silica gel,Sephadex LH-20,Prep HPLC and recrystallization. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of physicochemical constants and spectral analysis. Fifteen compounds were isolated and identified as luteolin, tricin, 7-methoxy- tricin, tricin-4'-O-glucopyranoside, tricin-7-O- glucopyranoside, apigenin, apigenin-7-Oglucopyranoside,apigenin-6-C-arabinfuranoside,apigenin-7-O- glucopyranoside-6″-O-rhamnoside,p-hydroxybenzaldehyde, 5-hydroxy-2-methoxy-benzaldehyde, loliolide, dehydrovomifoliol, vomifoliol-9-O-glucopyranoside, 4,4',9,9'tetrahydroxy-3,3',5,5'-tetramethoxy-7,7'-monoepoxy lignan. The results of the research provided scientific basis for development and utilization of bamboo leaves. It established the foundation for clarification pharmacological activity of the leaves of Dendrocalamus latiflorus.

Abstract:The volatile oil from Dracocephalum purdomii W.W.Smith was analyzed and determined by GC/MS.Sixty-one compounds were separated and identified in the oil.The main constituents are hexadecanoic acid,ethyl hexadecanoiate,stigmast-3,5-dien,[1,1-biphenyl]-4,4′-diamine,N,N′-diphenyl,dibutyl phthalate,heptaeosane,nonacosane,dotriacontane,ethyl octadecanoiate,ethyl docosanoiate,and so on.Their content is 63 3% of the identified compounds.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To study chemical constituents contained in Desmodium caudatum.METHOD:The chemical compounds were separated by using such chromatographic methods as macroporous resin, Sephadex LH-20, ODS and normal phase silicagel column, and their structures were identified by spectroscopic data analysis.RESULT:Fifteen compounds were separated and identified as stigmasterol (1), beta-sitosterol (2), citrusinol (3), hibiscone A (4), yukovanol (5), kenusanone I (6), neophellamuretin (7), desmodol (8), erythrotriol (9), hibiscone D (10), kaempferol (11), 8-prenylquercetin (12), leachianone G (13), 5,7,4'-trihydroxy-dihydroflavonol (14), and 4H-1-benzopyran-4-one, 2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl) -2, 3-dihydro-3,5,7-trihydroxy-8-( 3-methyl-2-butenyl) -, (2R-trans)-(9CI) (15).CONCLUSION:All of the compounds were separated from D. caudatum for the first time except compound 8.

Abstract:A systematic phytochemical investigation of the aerial parts of Dracocephalum moldavica led to the isolation of 1 new and 16 known compounds. Based on spectroscopic analyses, the new compound was elucidated as a flavonoid glycoside, acacetin-7-O-(4?-acetyl)-glucopyranoside (1). The 16 known compounds were identified as: 9 flavonoids (210), 2 lignans (1112), 4 triterpeniods (1316) and 1 menthane-type monoterpenoid (17). All the 17 compounds were reported for the first time from D. moldavica. Compound 1 exhibited mild radical scavenging activity against 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH). Although compound 17, named as citrylidene malonic acid, was a known compound, it possessed an uncommon tricyclic dilactone skeleton, the structure was secured by X-ray crystallography. In addition, compound 17 was tested for cytotoxic activity against A549 cell line, only weak cytotoxicity was shown.

Abstract:The essential oil of Tibetan medicine Dracocephalum heterophyllum Benth was obtained by hydrodistillation with a 0.7% (v/w) yield. The chemical composition of the essential oil was analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectral (GC-MS). Eighty-three compounds, constituting about 89.83% of the total oil, were identified. The main compound in the oil were Cineole (14.89%), trans-nerolido (7.10%), 1-m-ethyl-2-(1-methylethyl)-benzene (4.42%), Germacrene-D (4.84%), Decahydro-1,1,4,7-tetramethyl-4aH-cycloprop[e]azulen-4a-ol (4.94%), p-menth-1-en-4-ol,acetate (4.34%), 4-methyl-1-(1-methylethyl)-3-cyclohexen-1-ol (4.10%). The antimicrobial activity of the oil was evaluated against nine bacterial, one yeast, and three fungi. The antimicrobial test result showed that the essential oil strongly inhibited the growth of test microorganisms studied. The maximal inhibition zones and MIC values for bacterial, yeast and fungi strain were in the range of 18-25 mm and 0.039-0.156 mg mL(-1); *20 mm, and 0.156 mg mL(-1); 8-24 mm and 0.313-2.5 mg mL(-1); respectively. The antioxidant activity of the oil was determined by the malonyldialdehyde (MDA) test, measuring the MDA concentration in mouse liver cell microsomal after induced lipid peroxidation using FeSO4 and ascorbic acid, The inhibition of lipid peroxidation was 59.3% with a concentration of 0.5 mg mL(-1). Result presented here may suggest that the essential oil of D. heterophyllum posses antimicrobial and antioxidant properties, and therefore, they can be one of new medicinal resources for antimicrobial agent and/or used as a natural preservative ingredient in food and cosmetics and pharmaceuticals industry.

Abstract:From an EtOAc extract of Dracocephalum subcapitatum, five flavonoids, calycopterin, xanthomicrol, isokaempferide, luteolin and apigenin, together with five terpenoids, oleanolic acid, ursolic acid, geranial, neral and limonene-10-al, were isolated. Among them, citral and limonene-10-al were the most effective components against epimastigotes of Trypanosoma cruzi, the parasitic agent of Chagas disease.

Abstract:In this study the chemical constituents of the higher polar sustances from Desmodium caudatum were investigated.The compounds were isolated by using column chromatographies over silicagel, polyamide, ODS, Sephadex LH-20, and preparative HPLC. The structures of these compounds were identified on the basis of NMR and MS spectra. Thirteen compounds were obtained and their structures were identified as vanillin(1), loliolide(2), indole-3-carboxaldehyde(3), salicylic acid(4), swertisin(5), saccharumoside C(6), isosinensin (7), kaempferol 3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside-7-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside (8), isovitexin (9), vitexin (10), nothofagin(11), resveratroloside (12), and 2"-α-rhamnopyranosyl-7-O-methylvitexin (13). Except for compound 5, the remaining compounds were isolated from D. caudatum for the first time. Compounds 2, 3, 6-8, 11-13 were separated from the genus Desmodium for the first time.

Abstract:AIM:To study the chemical constituents from the aerial parts of Daphne pedunculata.METHODS:Column chromatography on silica gel and Sephadex LH-20 were used for the isolation and purification of compounds,and physical properties and spectroscopic techniques were used for structural identification.RESULTS:Eight compounds were isolated from the titled plant,and elucidated as daphnetin(1),daphnoretin(2),daphneticin(3),isodaphneticin(4),(-)-pinoresinol(5),daphneolone(6),β-sitosterol(7),and daucostero1(8).CONCLUSION:All compounds were isolated from this plant for the first time.

Abstract:To investigate the chemical constituents of Dahuang Mudan decoction(DHMDT),Silica gel column chromatography and Sephadex LH-20 gel column chromatography were employed for the isolation and purification.The structures were identified on the basis of spectral data and chemical evidence.Five compounds were isolated and identified as follows: ω-hydroxyemodin(1),sitostery-3-O-β-D-glucoside-6′-O-palmitate(2),aloe-emodin-3-(oxymethyl)-O-β-D-glucoside (3), Paeonol(4),paeoniflorigenone(5).All these compounds were isolated from Dahuang Mudan decoction(DHMDT) for the first time.

Abstract:Objective To study the chemical constituents from the leaf of Eucommia ulmoids collected from Zhangjiajie.Methods The constituents were isolated and purified by column chromatography(including Polyamide adsorption resin,LSA-5B macroporous adsorption resin,polydextran gel column,high performance liquid chromatography),the structures were elucidated by analyzing the physicochemical property and spectral data.Results Nine compounds were isolated and elucidated as geniposide acid,chlorogenic acid methyl ester,chlorogenic acid,caffeic acid,quercetin-xylose-glucoside,rutin,quercetin-3-O-β-D-glucoside,kaempferol-3-O-β-D-glucoside,and quercetin.Conclusion Chlorogenic acid methyl ester has been isolated from the leaf of Eucommia ulmoids for the first time.

Abstract:A new monoterpenoid,4,5,8-trihydroxy-6(7)-en-decenoic acid γ-lactone (1) and six known compounds,3,7-dimethyloct-1-ene-3,6,7-triol (2),2,8-bornanediol (3),1-(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethane-l,2-diol (4),2-(3-methoxy-4-hydroxyphenyl)-propane-1,3-diol (5),indole-3-carboxylic acid (6),and 3-hydroxy-benzenemethanol (7) were isolated from the whole parts of Teucrium viscidum.Their structures were established by a combination of spectroscopic data analysis,besides comparison with literature data.Compounds 2-7 described above were isolated from this genus for the first time.
