Abstract:To explore complementary benefit from combined power generation dispatching of cascaded hydropower stations at lower reaches of Jinsha river and those at Three Gorges, a single reservoir optimal dispatching model taking the maximum generated energy as the object and an optimal combined dispatching model for cascaded hydropower stations are established respectively, and the former model is solved by classical dynamic programming and the latter model is solved by elite-guide particle swarm optimization (EGPSO) algorithm proposed by the authors to calculate the complementary benefit in electric power and generated energy from combined dispatching of cascaded hydropower stations. In the calculation annual runoff data in 1999, 1983 and 1992 are chosen as the typical examples of high flow year, median water year and low flow year, and the analysis results show that the combined dispatching of cascaded hydropower stations at lower reaches of Jinsha river and those at Three Gorges can obviously increase overall generated energy of cascaded hydropower stations, decrease surplus water released from reservoir and the complementary benefit is evident. During the combined dispatching the cascaded hydropower stations at lower reaches of Jinsha river provide the compensation of generated energy to cascaded hydropower stations at the Three Gorges, and the dispatching risk brought by concentrated water-level-fluctuating in the flood season can be mitigated while the power output in the dry season and the seasonalgenerated energy are increased.
