Abstract:A recurrent fuzzy neural network (RFNN) modeling based on genetic algorithm is designed to control the pH neutralization nonlinear process by generalized predictive controller (GPC). GA is used to optimize the number of fuzzy rules, the centers and widths of Gaussion membership function. The recurrent least square method is utilized to obtain the weights of sequent part in the RFNN. Thus, the dynamic RFNN model is obtained with high precision to pH neutralization process. The linearized model at every control period is derived and the nonlinear optimization problem in generalized predictive control is simplified. Simulation results of pH neutralization process show that the proposed method overcome the complexity of neural network based generalized predictive control, and ensure the control precision and robustness.

Abstract:For conventional PID tuner and fuzzy inference systems based on expertise problem will arise when expertise of the process is not enough. Artificial neural networks have self-learning capability, however, the change of their weights can not be understood, This paper describes the structures of self-learning neuro-fuzzy networks and shrinking-span membership functions, and presents a neuro-fuzzy PID (NFPID) controller. The NFPID controller has the capability of self-extracting inference rules, and its parameters have explicitly physical definitions. By using the RBF neural network inverse model, a hybrid learning procedure was put forward. Various simulation results demonstrated that the NFPID controller described has very good performances

Abstract:The laser surface alloying quality may vary significantly with respect to the process parameters variation. Hence, a feedback control system is required to monitor the operating parameters for yielding a good quality control. Since this multi-input and multi-output system has nonlinear coupling and time varying dynamic characteristics, it is very difficult to establish an accurate process model for designing model-based controller. Hence a hybrid model-free adaptive fuzzy and neural network controller HAFNC, which combines an adaptive rule with fuzzy and neural network control, is employed in this study to overcome the difficulty. It has on-line learning ability for responding to the system's nonlinear and time-varying behaviors. Since this model-free controller has simple control structure and small number of control parameters, it is easy to implement. Two HAFNC controllers are designed for tuning the laser power and the traverse velocity simultaneously to tackle the absorptivity and geometrical variations of the work pieces. Simulation results based on semi-experimental system dynamic model and parameters show that the good surface lapping performance is achieved by using this intelligent control strategy.

Abstract:The quality of laser surface alloying process depends on many process parameters, such as power density and beam velocity. Unacceptable results may occur due to the parameters across a certain specified range. Hence, during the alloying process, a feedback control system is required to monitor the variation of operating parameters for yielding a good quality control and tackle the process disturbance. Since the laser surface alloying process has non-linear coupling and time varying characteristics, it is difficult to establish an appropriate process model for this multi-input and multi-output (MIMO) system. Hence a model-free self-organizing fuzzy control (SOFC) method is employed in this study. It has on-line learning ability, the rule tables can be modified automatically and continuously. Two SOFC controllers are designed for tuning the laser power and the traverse velocity simultaneously to tackle the geometrical and absorptivity variations of the work piece. The simulation results show that this control method can achieve good control performance. The control performance is compared with that of a traditional PID controller.

Abstract:In this paper, a fuzzy self adaptive EDM control system is presented. By using fuzzy theory and applying fuzzy control method, detailed analysis on the gap voltage, one of the most important EDM process parameters, is made Fuzzy rule library is obtained and fuzzy controller is constructed on the analysis. Self adaptive control of the EDM process is realized by the self adaptive regulation of the input quantizational factor and output proportional factor of the fuzzy control system. Experiment results show that this system has good self adaptability and high reliability which will result in the higher productivity.

Abstract:Since the Laser alloying process system has nonlinear coupling and time varying dynamic characteristics, it is very difficult to establish an accurate process model for designing model-based controller. Hence, an adaptive radial basis function sliding-mode control is proposed by combining the advantages of adaptive neural network and sliding-mode control strategies. It has on-line learning ability to deal with the system's nonlinear and time-varying uncertainties by adjusting the control parameters. Two adaptive radial basis function sliding-mode controllers are designed for tuning the Laser power and the traverse velocity simultaneously to tackle the absorptivtiy and geometrical variations of the work pieces. The simulation results show that the good surface lapping performance is achieved by using this intelligent control strategy.

Abstract:Since the surface alloying process has multi-input and multi-output, non-linear coupling and time varying dynamic characteristics, it is very difficult to establish an accurate process model for designing model-based controller. Hence an adaptive neural network controller is developed in this paper to tackle the variation and disturbance of the laser alloying control system. The proposed control strategy is based on a neural network structure combined with sliding-mode control scheme. An adaptive rule is derived based on the reaching condition of a specified sliding surface to on-line adjust the weights of radial basis functions neural network (RBFNN). It has on-line learning ability in response to the system's non-linear and time-varying behaviors. Two adaptive neural network controllers are designed for regulating the laser power control and traverse speed, respectively, to achieve the desired temperature distribution on the alloying surface. The control performance is evaluated based on numerical simulation results. Different disturbances are introduced into the system output variables to investigate the robustness of the proposed controller with respect to practical process variation.

Abstract:Based on the analysis of the principle of the ring laser gyro(RLG) light intensity control system and pointing to the self developed computer stabilizing frequency control system of RLG,the algorithms of FUZZY-PID and the conventional PID are studied.A new kind of controller using fuzzy reasoning function for realizing PID parameter self-adjustment is put forward in this paper.It is based on the conventional PID controller,adapting the fuzzy reasoning idea and according to different E and EC to accomplish the on-line self-adjustment of K-p,K-I and K-D parameters.The simulation result shows that the dynamic and static characters all meet the normal algorithm and this algorithm is the more ideal control algorithm for realizing the laser light intensity control and then accomplishing the laser frequency control.

Abstract:This paper presents a control strategy that enhances fuzzy controller with self-learning capability for achieving prescribed control objectives with the use of artificial neural network. The neural network,termed CPN(counter propagation networds),is trained to establish fuzzy associations between the input and output fuzzy subsets. The fuzzy logic controller based on CPN can refine the fuzzy if-then rules if human experts are not all available and it also improves the system property such as the robustness and fault-tolerance. The air cushion headbox system is employed as a test-bed to demonstrate the efffectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

Abstract:The fuzzy NN predictive control algorithm introduced in this paper uses fuzzy neural network to model the nonlinear MIMO process. Its training method that integrates LS and BP algorithm brings quick convergence. GPC algorithm is used as the predictive component. The fuzzy neural network has six layers, including input layer, output layer and four hidden layers. An application to a MIMO nonlinear process (green liquor system of the recovery system in a pulp factory shows that this algorithm has better performance than normal PID algrithm.

Abstract:The practical performance of the controller in the air-conditioning system is very important to the whole system. Although the traditional PID controller is widely used in a variety of industrial production situations and has achieved successful applications, it is only suitable for the analysis and design of the linear system, and it's unable for the analysis and design of the air-conditioning system which is time-delay and nonlinear. In this paper, a self-adaptive fuzzy PI control strategy is proposed to be used in the air-conditioning system. Simulation results and the practical control effect prove that the compound control structure possesses better performance than the conventional control method and satisfactory effects have been obtained.

Abstract:Fuzzy neural network(FNN)control is applied in the resistance furnace temperature control system, based on the time-variable and distributed parameters nonlinear features of resistance furnace.This controller has the adaptive ability,uses the system error and the output of neural network identification(NNI)model to rectify the parameters of the fuzzy neural network controller(FNNC)on line through an improved BP algorithm,so that the temperature car be controlled in time.The results of simulation prove that the FNNC has good performances and the effect is better than that of PID control.

Abstract:In order to achieve the pulse energy stability of high-repetition-rate ArF excimer lasers,the technology of pulse energy control was studied from the perspective of power supply adjustment.The closed-loop control principle for pulse energy stability of high-repetition-rate ArF excimer lasers was introduced.The function model between the output energy of excimer laser and the discharge voltage was established with approximation method,and the proportion-integration(PI) algorithm for real-time adjustment of discharge voltage based on the real-time detection of pulse energy was proposed.Combined with the function model and the control algorithm,simulation was carried out with MATLAB software.The simulation results indicate that the pulse energy model is reasonable and the PI algorithm is feasible for improving the laser pulse energy stability.

Abstract:To improve the performance of fuel cells, the operating temperature of molten carbonate fuel cells (MCFC) stack should be controlled within a specified range. With the RBF neural network's ability of identifying the complex non-linear system, a neural networks identification model of MCFC stack is developed based on the input-output sampled data. An online fuzzy control procedure for the temperature of MCFC stack is also developed based on the fuzzy genetic algorithm (FGA), the fuzzy controller's parameters and rules are optimized at the same time. Finally using the neural networks model as the real MCFC stack, the control simulation is carried out. The validity of the identification modeling of MCFC stack and the superior performance of the fuzzy controller are demonstrated by the simulation results.

Abstract:A simple digital control system was designed to stabilize CO2 laser based on digital signal processing with the Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) controlling chip and Very-High-Speed Integrated Circuit Hardware Description Language program. In this system, the control parameters were easily determined by software real-time control, and the control circuit was also designed compactly. In addition, the theoretical analysis on the stabilization of CO2 laser output characteristics was presented based on the photoacoustic effect, and the corresponding experiments on the stabilization of CO2 laser output characteristics were further performed. The results show that the output power of CO2 laser is stabilized at the peak with a relative power stability of 2.71%. Furthermore, the frequency of CO2 laser 9P(36) line is stabilized at the center of the laser gain curve with a relative stability of (1.57 ± 0.37)×10-8. This system has a potential of further improvements by optimizing the algorithm and choosing higher-speed signal processor.

Abstract:The objective of this research is to apply intelligent control methodology to improve weld quality. Based on fuzzy logic and artificial neural network theory, a self-learning fuzzy and neural network control scheme has been developed for real-time control of pulsed gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW). Using an industrial TV camera as the sensor, the weld face width of the weld pool, i.e., the feedback signal in the closed loop system, is obtained by computer image processing techniques. The computer vision providing process status information in real-time is an integral part of self-learning fuzzy neural control system. Such a system enables adaptive altering of welding parameters to compensate for changing environments. The experiments on the control of the pulsed GTAW process show that the scheme presented in this paper can be used to control complicated variables such as encountered in welding processes.

Abstract:Abstract A variable universe fuzzy proportional‐integral‐differential (PID) algorithm was designed and first application for a laser power stabilization system. To validate the algorithm's effectiveness, it is applied to the simulation model of Simulink and the experimental system based on an acousto‐optic modulator. The results demonstrate that the variable universe fuzzy PID presents higher control precision, better robustness, and can suppress long‐term drift phenomena compared with the traditional feedback control algorithm. The algorithm design method in this paper has significant reference and guidance value for laser power stabilization system.

Abstract:In view of the high-power laser could make the temperature rise on the samples, this paper proposes a controller based on parameters self-tuning fuzzy PID algorithm. The controller can be not only applied to the single control object based on Fuzzy empirical formula according to the PID parameters online correcting, but also can effectively deal with the temperature control model of LTDS uncertainly, nonlinear, time-varying, hysteresis, and so on. And in this paper, we make a simulation comparative experiment between the traditional PID control and the fuzzy adaptive PID control by using Matlab Simulink toolbox. The experiment result shows that fuzzy adaptive PID is better than the traditional control algorithm on overshoot, settling time and other performance indicators, and it can effectively improve control accuracy of the temperature control system.
