Abstract:The aim of this paper is to establish a general Strassen＇s law of the iterated logarithm （LIL） for qz-mixing random variables whose variance may be infinite, which extends previous results. As an application, a general Strassen＇s LIL for products of partial sums is derived.

Abstract:We establish strong invariance principles for sums of stationary ρ-mixing random variables with finite and infinite second moments under weaker mixing rates.Some earlier results are improved.As applications,some results of the law of the iterated logarithm with finite and infinite variance are obtained,also a conjecture raised by Shao in 1993 is solved.

Abstract:For the sequence of ρ˜-mixing identically distributed random variables, we show two general strong laws of large numbers (SLLNs) in which the coefficient of sum and the weight are both general functions, and as a consequence we obtain the Marcinkiewicz SLLN. Finally, we get a Chung type SLLN for ρ˜-mixing random variables.

Abstract:In this paper we obtain two inequalities of the maximum of partial sums of an Lq-mixingale array, and as corollary a strong law of large numbers (SLLN) for an Lq-mixingale sequence is shown by using the moment inequality. Finally, we prove a weak law of large numbers (WLLN) for an Lq-mixingale array without the condition of uniform integrability which is needed in Andrews [Andrews, D.W.K., 1988. Laws of large numbers for dependent non-identically distributed random variables. Econometric Theory 4, 458–467].

Abstract:Let X 1 , X 2 , ⋯, X n , ⋯ be a sequence of i.i.d. random variables uniformly distributed on [0; 1], and denote by Ln the length of the longest increasing subsequences of X 1 , X 2 , ⋯, X n . Consider the poissonized version H̃ n based on Hammersley’s representation in the 2-dimensional space. A law of the iterated logarithm for H̃ n is established using the well-known subsequence method and Borel-Cantelli lemma. The key technical ingredients in the argument include superadditivity, increment independence and precise tail estimates for the H̃ n ’s. The work was motivated by recent works due to Ledoux ( J. Theoret. Probab. 31 , (2018)). It remains open to establish an analog for the L n itself.

Abstract:Recently, Fulman developed some general connections between martingales and character ratios of a random representation of the symmetric group on transitions, and obtained a convergence rate in a central limit theorem. In this work we aim to establish the law of the iterated logarithm for character ratios. The technique is a well-known Skorokhod embedding theorem for martingales and strong approximation argument. Also, bounded martingale difference methods are used to obtain a large deviation for character ratios.

Abstract:Abstract We give here an almost sure central limit theorem for self-normalized partial sums of a strictly stationary φ-mixing sequences which is in the domain of attraction of the normal law with mean zero and possibly infinite variance. Our result substantially extend a result on the almost sure central limit theorem previously obtained by Huang and Pang (2010).

Abstract: We establish the Strassen's law of the iterated logarithm for independent and identically distributed random variables with $\hat{\mathbb{E}}[X_1]=\hat{\mathcal{E}}[X_1]=0$ and $C_{\mathbb{V}}[X_1^2]<\infty$ under sub-linear expectation space with a countably sub-additive capacity $\mathbb{V}$. We also show the LIL for upper capacity with $\sigma=\bar{\sigma}$ under some certain conditions.

Abstract:Let {X\-n,n≥1} be a sequence of i.i.d. random variables with common d.f. F(x).X\-\{1,n\}≤…≤X\-\{n,n\} are its order statistics. Q is the quantile function of F. It is shown that for any underlying distribution function F, the LIL for the heavily trimmed sums remains true, as long as λ and 1-λ are continuity points of Q and σ(λ)>0. Moreover, a strong approximation result is obtained in this case.

Abstract:In a recent paper by Spătaru [Precise asymptotics for a series of T.L. Lai, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 132 (11) (2004) 3387–3395] a precise asymptotics in the law of the logarithm for sequence of i.i.d. random variables has been established. In this paper we show that there is an analogous result for strictly stationary φ-mixing sequence. To prove this result, we have to use a different method. One of our main tools is the Gaussian approximation technique.
