Abstract:In the title compound, C(17)H(12)N(2), the inter-planar angle between the indole mean plane [max.deviation 0.030 (1) Å] and the phenyl ring is 24.32 (7)°. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H⋯N C hydrogen bonds form zigzag chains in the a-axis direction augmented by weak C-H⋯N C contacts.

Abstract:The dihedral angle between the indole and benzene ring systems in the title compound, C17H11N3O2, is 4.37 (7)degrees. In the crystal structure, molecules are linked by N-H center dot center dot center dot N and C-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds, resulting in the formation of layers. These layers are further interconnected through weak offset pi-pi stacking between the nitrophenyl and indole ring systems, with a centroid-to-centroid distance of 3.766 (2) angstrom and an interplanar distance of 3.524 angstrom.

Abstract:The title molecule, C21H15NO, has an indoline-2-one and two benzene substituent groups which are arranged in a propeller-like fashion around the central C atom. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 73.32 (16)degrees and those between the benzene rings and the indoline-2-one group are 76.54 (14) and 67.69 (14)degrees. Abstract:The title compound, C28H28N2O, was prepared by condensation of 1,2-bimethylindole and 4-methoxybenzaldehyde. In the molecular structure, the plane of the non-fused benzene ring is twisted with respect to the planes of the two indole ring systems, exhibiting dihedral angles of 72.04 (7) and 72.24 (7)degrees, while the planes of the two indole ring systems are oriented at a dihedral angle of 87.05 (5)degrees. Neither hydrogen bonding nor pi-pi stacking is observed in the crystal structure.

Abstract:In the molecular structure of the title compound, C20H15NO2, the isoindolin-1-one unit is planar, the maximum atomic deviation being 0.048 (2) Å. The two biphenyl rings are twisted with respect to the isoindolin-1-one plane, making dihedral angles of 33.21 (9) and 33.34 (9)°. The two benzene rings of the biphenyl substituent are oriented at a dihedral angle of 35.43 (11)° to each other. An intramolecular O—H⋯O interaction occurs and intermolecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bonding is present in the crystal structure.

Abstract:In the title compound, C21H14ClNO3, the benzo[f]indole unit is essentially planar. The dihedral angles between the indole unit and the planes of the chloro-phenyl and acetyl groups are 84.30 (6) and 45.51 (7)°, respectively. Intra-molecular C - H⋯O inter-actions generate S(6) and S(7) ring motifs. The mol-ecules are linked via weak inter-molecular C - H⋯O inter-actions to form double-layer chains along the c axis. Abstract:In the title compound, C25H17NO4, the indolizine fused naphthaquinone unit is approximately planar [r.m.s deviation = 0.0678 angstrom] and makes a dihedral angle of 57.82 (5)degrees with the benzene ring of the methoxybenzene group. The naphthoquinone O atoms deviate, in the same sense, from the mean plane of the fused six-membered rings by 0.2001 (14) and 0.0516 (14) angstrom. Abstract:In the title compound, C(31)H(29)ClN(2)O(3), the two heterocyclic rings, belonging to a system of five condensed rings, adopt conformations intermediate between twist-boat and sofa. The secondary amide group is involved in a weak intramolecular N-H⋯N hydrogen bond. In the crystal, molecules are linked by pairs of C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds to form inversion dimers.
