Abstract:The title compound [systematic name: 1-(7-isopropyl-1,4a-dimethyl-1,2,3,4,4a,9,10,10a-octahydrophenanthren-1-ylmeth- yl)-4,5-diphenyl-1H-imidazole], C35H40N2, was obtained via the one-pot three-component condensation of benzil, formaldehyde and dehydroabietylamine, which is a fungal toxin. The two substituent phenyl groups and the imidazole ring form a conjugated system. The dihedral angles between the imidazole ring and the phenyl rings are 70.18 (9) and 12.77 (12)degrees. In the crystal structure, there are one intramolecular and two intermolecular hydrogen-bonding C-H center dot center dot center dot pi contacts. Furthermore, a weak C-H center dot center dot center dot N intramolecular hydrogen bond is observed.

Abstract:In the title compound, C21H14ClNO3, the benzo[f]indole unit is essentially planar. The dihedral angles between the indole unit and the planes of the chloro-phenyl and acetyl groups are 84.30 (6) and 45.51 (7)°, respectively. Intra-molecular C - H⋯O inter-actions generate S(6) and S(7) ring motifs. The mol-ecules are linked via weak inter-molecular C - H⋯O inter-actions to form double-layer chains along the c axis. These chains are arranged in head-to-tail and tail-to-head modes. C - H⋯π inter-actions are present in the crystal structure. © 2007 International Union of Crystallography. All rights reserved.

Abstract:In the molecular structure of the title compound, C20H15NO2, the isoindolin-1-one unit is planar, the maximum atomic deviation being 0.048 (2) Å. The two biphenyl rings are twisted with respect to the isoindolin-1-one plane, making dihedral angles of 33.21 (9) and 33.34 (9)°. The two benzene rings of the biphenyl substituent are oriented at a dihedral angle of 35.43 (11)° to each other. An intramolecular O—H⋯O interaction occurs and intermolecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bonding is present in the crystal structure.

Abstract:The title compound, C28H28N2O, was prepared by condensation of 1,2-bimethylindole and 4-methoxybenzaldehyde. In the molecular structure, the plane of the non-fused benzene ring is twisted with respect to the planes of the two indole ring systems, exhibiting dihedral angles of 72.04 (7) and 72.24 (7)degrees, while the planes of the two indole ring systems are oriented at a dihedral angle of 87.05 (5)degrees. Neither hydrogen bonding nor pi-pi stacking is observed in the crystal structure.

Abstract:In the title compound, C25H17NO4, the indolizine fused naphthaquinone unit is approximately planar [r.m.s deviation = 0.0678 angstrom] and makes a dihedral angle of 57.82 (5)degrees with the benzene ring of the methoxybenzene group. The naphthoquinone O atoms deviate, in the same sense, from the mean plane of the fused six-membered rings by 0.2001 (14) and 0.0516 (14) angstrom. In the crystal there is pi-pi stacking of inversionrelated pairs of molecules [interplanar spacing = 3.514 (2) angstrom].
