Abstract:In the title compound, C30H25NO4, the indolizine moiety is not completely planar, the six-membered ring being distorted towards an envelope conformation. The benzoyl and phenyl substituents are each almost planar. The crystal structure is stabilized by dipole-dipole and van der Waals forces.

Abstract:The title compound [systematic name: 1-(7-isopropyl-1,4a-dimethyl-1,2,3,4,4a,9,10,10a-octahydrophenanthren-1-ylmeth- yl)-4,5-diphenyl-1H-imidazole], C35H40N2, was obtained via the one-pot three-component condensation of benzil, formaldehyde and dehydroabietylamine, which is a fungal toxin. The two substituent phenyl groups and the imidazole ring form a conjugated system. The dihedral angles between the imidazole ring and the phenyl rings are 70.18 (9) and 12.77 (12)degrees. In the crystal structure, there are one intramolecular and two intermolecular hydrogen-bonding C-H center dot center dot center dot pi contacts. Furthermore, a weak C-H center dot center dot center dot N intramolecular hydrogen bond is observed.

Abstract:In the title compound, C18H15NO5, the methoxycarbonyl substituent, disregarding H atoms, is almost coplanar with the indolizine ring system in each of the two crystallographically independent molecules in the asymmetric unit. In the crystal structure, symmetry-related molecules form molecular dimers, held together by two C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds, and are interconnected into a three-dimensional network by another C—H⋯O hydrogen bond.

Abstract:In the title compound, C15H13NO4, the conjugated double-bond system between the two rings adopts a cis configuration and there is an intramolecular indole–ketone C—H⋯O interaction. The indole N—H group forms an intermolecular hydrogen bond with a ketone O-atom acceptor, giving a chain structure along the ab direction. The O-heterocyclic ring adopts a boat conformation and makes a dihedral angle of 16.72 (6)° with the indole ring system.

Abstract:The title compound, C28H28N2O, was prepared by condensation of 1,2-bimethylindole and 4-methoxybenzaldehyde. In the molecular structure, the plane of the non-fused benzene ring is twisted with respect to the planes of the two indole ring systems, exhibiting dihedral angles of 72.04 (7) and 72.24 (7)degrees, while the planes of the two indole ring systems are oriented at a dihedral angle of 87.05 (5)degrees. Neither hydrogen bonding nor pi-pi stacking is observed in the crystal structure.

Abstract:In the title compound, C21H14ClNO3, the benzo[f]indole unit is essentially planar. The dihedral angles between the indole unit and the planes of the chloro-phenyl and acetyl groups are 84.30 (6) and 45.51 (7)°, respectively. Intra-molecular C - H⋯O inter-actions generate S(6) and S(7) ring motifs. The mol-ecules are linked via weak inter-molecular C - H⋯O inter-actions to form double-layer chains along the c axis. Abstract:In the molecular structure of the title compound, C20H15NO2, the isoindolin-1-one unit is planar, the maximum atomic deviation being 0.048 (2) Å. The two biphenyl rings are twisted with respect to the isoindolin-1-one plane, making dihedral angles of 33.21 (9) and 33.34 (9)°. The two benzene rings of the biphenyl substituent are oriented at a dihedral angle of 35.43 (11)° to each other. An intramolecular O—H⋯O interaction occurs and intermolecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bonding is present in the crystal structure.
