Abstract:The title compound, C(13)H(15)NO(3), was synthesized by the Aldol reaction of isatin and 3-methyl-butan-2-one refluxing in methanol catalyzed by dimethyl-amine. The packing of the mol-ecules in the crystal structure features inter-molecular N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Abstract:The title compound [systematic name: 1-(7-isopropyl-1,4a-dimethyl-1,2,3,4,4a,9,10,10a-octahydrophenanthren-1-ylmeth- yl)-4,5-diphenyl-1H-imidazole], C35H40N2, was obtained via the one-pot three-component condensation of benzil, formaldehyde and dehydroabietylamine, which is a fungal toxin. The two substituent phenyl groups and the imidazole ring form a conjugated system. The dihedral angles between the imidazole ring and the phenyl rings are 70.18 (9) and 12.77 (12)degrees. In the crystal structure, there are one intramolecular and two intermolecular hydrogen-bonding C-H center dot center dot center dot pi contacts. Furthermore, a weak C-H center dot center dot center dot N intramolecular hydrogen bond is observed.

Abstract:An intermediate of Sulindac, 6-fluoro-2-methylindanone, was synthesized from 4-fluorobenzyl chloride via condensation with diethyl methyl malonate, hydrolysis in the presence of KOH, decarboxylation, acyl chlorination with SOCl2, and intermolecular Friedel-Crafts reaction. The overall yield was up to 57.0%. The structure was characterized by 1H NMR, GC-MS and elemental analysis.

Abstract:In the molecular structure of the title compound, C20H15NO2, the isoindolin-1-one unit is planar, the maximum atomic deviation being 0.048 (2) Å. The two biphenyl rings are twisted with respect to the isoindolin-1-one plane, making dihedral angles of 33.21 (9) and 33.34 (9)°. The two benzene rings of the biphenyl substituent are oriented at a dihedral angle of 35.43 (11)° to each other. An intramolecular O—H⋯O interaction occurs and intermolecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bonding is present in the crystal structure.

Abstract:The title compound, C(19)H(19)NO(10), was obtained from the reaction of α-d-1-bromo-2,3,4-tri-O-acetylxylose with N-hy-droxy-phthalimide in the presence of potassium carbonate. The asymmetric unit contains two independent mol-ecules, in which the O-CH-O-N torsion angles are 73.0 (4) and 65.0 (4)°. The hexa-pyranosyl rings adopt chair conformations and the substituent groups are in equatorial positions. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by nonclassical C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Abstract:In the title compound, C21H14ClNO3, the benzo[f]indole unit is essentially planar. The dihedral angles between the indole unit and the planes of the chloro-phenyl and acetyl groups are 84.30 (6) and 45.51 (7)°, respectively. Intra-molecular C - H⋯O inter-actions generate S(6) and S(7) ring motifs. The mol-ecules are linked via weak inter-molecular C - H⋯O inter-actions to form double-layer chains along the c axis.
