Abstract:The effect of different sintering temperature on the microstructure, density and frictional wear property of the Fe-based powder metallurgy(P/M)brake materials of aircraft was studied. The resultant mechanisms were discussed through the observation and analysis of microstructure and properties of Fe-based brake materials with different sintering temperature. The results show that, when sintered at 900 ℃,the specimen has low density and hardness, and the number of pearlites is little, abrasion of materials is bad. After friction test, the rubbed surface of specimen is heavy, such as abscission, pitting and abrasion loss.Compared with the specimen sintered at 900 ℃,the density and hardness, the number of pearlites, antiwear of the specimen sintered at 930 ℃ are added. After friction test, the rubbed surface of specimen is smooth reversely, but the phenomenon of spotted abscission is heavy, but abrasion loss is decreased. When sintering temperature is increased from 950 ℃ to 1 020 ℃,since diffuseness of atoms aggravates, the matrix of materials has adequate strength, the number of pearlites is increased conspicuously, which increases markedly antiwear of materials. After friction test, the complete layer of oxidation is formated in the surface of specimens, and the change of abrasion loss is little, compared with other specimens, the rubbed surface of specimen sintered at 1 020 ℃ has much less spotted abscission, and the working lining of multi-layer nestification is formed.
