Modular Configuration Design Method for Numerical Control Machine Tools Based on Multi-domain Mutual-use

Abstract:To realize type selection and optimum configuration of grading functional units for numerical control (NC) machine tools, a modular configuration design method for NC machine tools based on multi-domain mutual-use (MDMU) is put forward. The modules are defined by mechanical-electrical-hydraulic characteristics pool of the functional units of the machine tools. The product partial order templates are constructed by the membership and gradation relations of the modules. The key module, related module, virtual module are defined to represent the priority and significance of various modules. The instantiation rules of the modules are defined by type selection and optimum configuration constraints of components and parts. The correlation between two modules is reckoned by fuzzy membership of comparable characteristics. The key modules are selected by Karhunen-Loeve transformation. The product tree is reconstructed by multi-class support vector machine (SVM). The module instantiation is enhanced by layout design. The mutual-use of parts which are difficult to be reused directly is realized by part structure variation. The modular configuration design based on MDMU is finally accomplished by getting modular bill of material (MBOM) and assembly from the design requirements. The modular configuration design prototype is developed and applied to the design of the HMS series horizontal machining center. The test results proves that the current design of NC machine tools is extended to "layout domain-adapting domain-part variation domain" MDMU modular configuration design by "characteristics-modules-templates" hierarchy mapping, so it expands the mutual-use scope, decreases the ratio of non-standard parts between the product families with different layouts. It helps to improve efficiency and quality of NC machine tools design. © 2011 Journal of Mechanical Engineering.

Abstract:This paper presents a new method of designing the menu of the tree-like topological structure with linear array of one dimension.This method has high efficiency in using the memory,and has a simple and clear logic relation.In addition,the setting-up and modification of the menu is very convenient.The new method is suitable for the application system of the single-chip computer.

Abstract:The second development of I-DEAS greatly extends the capabilities of the software.The flexibility of the software is increased as the element of user-defined program joins.The technology of parameterized modeling was introduced based on the application development of I-DEAS.An example of sensor was used to show that parameterized modeling was realized,applying I-DEAS's API: Open Link and Open I-DEAS as well as the program.The technology of parameterized modeling basee on I-DEAS is great importance to the increasement of parts' design and development efficiency.

Abstract:This paper presents the principle, functions, features and implementation of a general graphical user interface management system based on OSF/Motif-JB-UIDS, which is a part of the integrated software engineering environment CASE (Computer Aided Software Engineering), named JB (Jade Bird). The visual and interactive UIMS can help the interface designer to generate user interface automatically and then refine it interactively. It adopts a new method of describing internal application interface based on Object-Oriented ideas to support the separation of user interface component from computational component. JB-UIDS has been implemented on SCO-ODT and has good portability and flexibility.

Abstract:Today, CAD/CAM/CAE tools are highly graphical and interactive. But how an interface can be more helpful is not ascertained yet and still interesting to many software workers. From the object-oriented point of view, based on knowledge deducing and event stack structure, we propose a new interface model SRT. Using this model, we have developed an entirely new interaction technique. In this paper, after a review on the development of users interface models and interaction techniques, we will give a detailed definition of SRT, followed by a discussion of what a role it plays in users' design work. Based on SRT model, we developed SDDT, a Software Document Design supporting Tool of ICSDE system. SDDT consists of a concise expert system and a Software Graphic Document edit Too, along with a Software Textual Document edit Tool. SDDT now has been realized on HP workstations, and the new interface of it brought by SRT model has proven to be a very successful interface. In this paper, we will also describe the interface of SDDT.

Abstract:The Large Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Survey Telescope(LAMOST) located at the Xinglong Station of the National Astronomical Observatories is the world's largest steerable reflecting Schmidt telescope.In order to conveniently control the telescope and make observation more efficient,we have designed the Graphical User Interfaces(GUIs)of the Observatory Control System(OCS).In this paper,we first give the analysis of the software architecture of LAMOST telescope control,and subsequently give the analysis and design of the GUIs using the User-Centered Design(UCD)based on scenarios.We use the Qt,CORBA(Common Object Request Broker Architecture),multi-thread pattern,and Model-View-Controller(MVC)pattern to realize the GUIs,which have been tested.The GUIs have been approved by users and bave been successfully applied to LAMOST observation.

Abstract:In order to solve the inconvenience caused by uC/OS-Ⅱ lacking for command interface,the idea of designing Shells for uC/ OS-Ⅱ is brought forward.On the basis of introducing the hardware platform,the general working flow of the Shell is shown,its serial port functions and the realization process of main tasks are described.Besides an example of drawing commands are given to illustrate the realization and expanding methods for Shell commands.The testing indicates the Shell operates steadily,better accomplishes the communication between human and machine and has nicer portability and expansibility.

Abstract:A parametric design software for tools in common use in steam turbine product——calipers and plug guage is developed according to the modularized idea. The software that is developed using C++ language and Access database is the secondary development product of UG. The selection of development platform, classification of function modules and realization of each function module are discussed in detail. An example is given to show the way of using the software. The application shows that it may shorten the design period and enhance the design quality.
