We consider the M-set of lambda exp(z)/z consisting of all parameters A for which the Fatou set of lambda exp(z)/z is empty. We prove that the M-set of lambda exp(z)/z has infinite area. Abstract:It was proved by Shen that the graph of the classical Weierstrass function Sigma(infinity)(n =0) lambda(n) cos(2 pi b(n)x) has Hausdorff dimension 2 + log lambda/log b, for every integer b >= 2 and every l is an element of(1/b, 1) [Hausdorff dimension of the graph of the classical Weierstrass functions, Math. Z., 289 (2018), 223-266]. In this paper, we prove that the dimension formula holds for every integer b >= 3 and every lambda is an element of(1/b, 1) if we replace the function cos by sin in the definition of Weierstrass function. A class of more general functions are also discussed.

In this paper, the Hausdorff dimension of E(x, T) is established. We get that for any T is an element of R, almost every x is an element of R-d, dim E(x, T) = N - dalpha with probability one under the condition N >dalpha.

Abstract:Devaney and Krych showed that for 0<λ<1/e the Julia set of λ e^z consists of pairwise disjoint curves, called hairs, which connect finite points, called the endpoints of the hairs, with ∞. McMullen showed that the Julia set has Hausdorff dimension 2 and Karpińska showed that the set of hairs without endpoints has Hausdorff dimension 1. We study for which gauge functions the Hausdorff measure of the set of hairs without endpoints is finite.

Abstract:We review the motivation and fundamental properties of the Hausdorff dimension of metric spaces and illustrate this with a number of examples, some of which are expected and well-known. We also give examples where the Hausdorff dimension has some surprising properties: we construct a set $E\subset\C$ of positive planar measure and with dimension 2 such that each point in $E$ can be joined to $\infty$ by one or several curves in $\C$ such that all curves are disjoint from each other and from $E$, and so that their union has Hausdorff dimension 1. We can even arrange things so that every point in $\C$ which is not on one of these curves is in $E$. These examples have been discovered very recently; they arise quite naturally in the context of complex dynamics, more precisely in the iteration theory of simple maps such as $z\mapsto \pi\sin(z)$.

In this paper, it is proved that the exact Hausdorff centred measure of K (λ 1 ,λ 2 ) equals 2 s (1−λ) s , where λ=max{λ 1 ,λ 2 } and s is the Hausdorff dimension of K (λ 1 ,λ 2 ).

Abstract:We show that the graph of the classical Weierstrass function ∑ _n=0^∞λ ^n cos (2π b^n x) has Hausdorff dimension 2+logλ /log b , for every integer b≥ 2 and every λ∈ (1/b,1) . Replacing cos (2π x) by a general non-constant C^2 periodic function, we obtain the same result under a further assumption that λ b is close to 1.

Abstract:In this paper, we give a formula of the Hausdorff dimension of the boundary of the immediate basin of infinity of McMullen maps $f_p(z)=z^Q+p/z^Q$, where $Q\geq 3$ and $p$ is small. This gives a lower bound of the Hausdorff dimension of the Julia sets of McMullen maps in the special cases.

Abstract:This paper extends some results of [M5] and [M3], in particular, removing assumptions of positive lower density. We give conditions on a general family $P_{\lambda}:\mathbb{R}^{n}\to\mathbb{R}^{m}, \lambda \in \Lambda,$ of orthogonal projections which guarantee that the Hausdorff dimension formula $\dim A\cap P_{\lambda}^{-1}\{u\}=s-m$ holds generically for measurable sets $A\subset\mathbb{R}^{n}$ with positive and finite $s$-dimensional Hausdorff measure, $s>m$. As an application we prove for measurable sets $A,B\subset\mathbb{R}^{n}$ with positive $s$- and $t$-dimensional measures that if $s + (n-1)t/n > n$, then $\dim A\cap (g(B)+z) \geq s+t - n$ for almost all rotations $g$ and for positively many $z\in\mathbb{R}^{n}$. We shall also give an application on the estimates of the dimension of the set of exceptional rotations.

Abstract:It is proved in this paper that the union of escaping parameter rays without endpoints for the cosine family S κ ( z ) = e κ (e z + e − z ), where κ ∈ ℂ is a parameter, has Hausdorff dimension 1, which implies that the ray endpoints alone have Hausdorff dimension 2. This shows that Karpińska’s dimension paradox occurs also in the parameter plane of the cosine family.
