Abstract:The conventional constant frequency airconditioner (CFAC) and the inverter based variable-frequency air-conditioner (VFAC) are increasingly used now. The study of air-conditioner based load and its impact on power system is greatly demanded. In this paper, the characteristics of CFAC and VFAC are investigated, respectively. Then, a modeling method of blended air-conditioner (BAC) load is proposed, and parameters of CFAC and VFAC are studied in detail. Later, the proposed model is tested in real power system. It is found that the characteristics of blended air-conditioner model is strongly related to the composition proportion of CFAC and VFAC, and they apparently affect power grids especially on voltage/reactive power issues.

Abstract:Due to the large energy compensation caused by the fixed dew point on the cooling coil(CC) in the conventional constant temperature and humidity air-conditioning system,a new system employing a temperature and humidity independent control device(THIC device) in the CC and a method of PID split-range control,is developed in this paper.Based on the experiment verification,the operation states and the energy saving effects of the system under different heat and moisture loads have been simulated by TRNSYS 16 software.The results show that under different working conditions,the system can automatically control air temperature and humidity independently with a high precision,by adjusting the mass flow rate and the temperature of the chilled water into the CC,and the output of the heater or the humidifier.In the design of such CC,the heat transfer area should be calculated under a higher inlet temperature of the chilled water(for example,12℃ instead of the usual 7℃).The system is energy-efficient with a rate of 30% under low temperature high humidity condition and about 50% under high temperature and low humidity condition,compared with the conventional system.

Abstract:On the basis of analyzing of the coupling relationship among variations in the heating system,and in accordance with the control requirements,the paper presents a basic control strategy in which the heating system is divided into several subsystems to be controlled respectively under the premise of effective decoupling.The control program of the variable flow heating system has been designed.Hardware configuration with IPC as the superordinate computer and PLC as the subordinate system,as well as the software design method are introduced.The design of PID control procedures,and the interrupted procedures are described in detail.

Abstract:As for the separated air conditioner in the public is not facilitate for unified management and often causes a waste of energy, so we put forward a kind of centralized control system, which is suitable for small and medium-sized public places, to manage many separated air conditioner together. Through the development of the software VC++ and the communication with the internal 51-series microcomputer CPU of the air conditioner in many different rooms by using the bus RS485, we could realize the controlling of the turning on or off of the conditioner as well as the temperature and strength of the wind of the air conditioner centrally. The system is characterized for its highly safety performance and its ease to use.

Abstract:The practical performance of the controller in the air-conditioning system is very important to the whole system. Although the traditional PID controller is widely used in a variety of industrial production situations and has achieved successful applications, it is only suitable for the analysis and design of the linear system, and it's unable for the analysis and design of the air-conditioning system which is time-delay and nonlinear. In this paper, a self-adaptive fuzzy PI control strategy is proposed to be used in the air-conditioning system. Simulation results and the practical control effect prove that the compound control structure possesses better performance than the conventional control method and satisfactory effects have been obtained.

Abstract:On account of the problems existed in the traditional central air conditioning systems of public buildings,puts forward a new central air conditioning system based on energy-bus.The system consists of distributed water-cooled air conditioning units combined with heat pipes,fresh air handing units with large enthalpy difference and a water loop.The new system can operate in either heat pipe mode or air conditioning mode according to peripheral and inner zones and climatic conditions so that it can make full use of natural cold source,high temperature heat source and excess heat in buildings rationally.The simulated annual energy consumption of the new system in an office building is compared with that of primary air fan-coil system and that of all-air CAV system.The result shows that the new system performs better in initial cost,energy saving and indoor thermal and humid environment control and may have great potential for further development and application.

Abstract:The temporal property of MAC protocol of fieldbus is critical to meet real-time constraints of field devices in factory floor. Among various types of MAC protocols, the one using centralized strategy is characterized by providing a feasible schedule to meet different temporal constraints of field devices online, and also providing schedulability analysis offline a priori. WorldFIP and FF, two popular international standards of fieldbus, both adapt a centralized strategy, which is mainly implemented by schedule table (ST). This paper mainly discusses how to construct ST including size of ST schedule algorithm and schedulability analysis, to meet requirement of field devices on response time, jitter, synchronization, and its state-of-the art.

Abstract:This paper introduces a valve control system designed based on the topology of the Controllable Line Commutated Converter(CLCC). The system can control the CLCC valve according to pole control instructions and monitor various operational parameters of CLCC valve in real time, which provides reliable protection for the safe operation of the CLCC valve. Additionally, the valve control system features historical data query and real-time waveform recording functions, offering crucially support for post-event analysis. In June 2023, the world -leading and first domestic CLCC valve was successfully commencing operation at Shanghai Nanqiao Converter Station. Since its commissioning, it has operating well, which further validates the reliability and practicality of the CLCC valve control system.

Abstract:An important process control trend is the implementation of digital communication with field control devices. Traditional distributed control systems are being augmented with smart field instruments. Foundation Fieldbus is a digital control network that interlinks such "smart" field instruments like sensors and actuators in a process control environment. In the Foundation Fieldbus all the control algorithms and data acquisition are executed by structures called function blocks. This paper attempts to improve the performance based on these function blocks. First, an introduction to the function blocks of Foundation Fieldbus and their structure and execution process are presented. Then, an example of a fermentation process is described. The structure of the control system and the implementation of distributed control based on function blocks are discussed. Finally, the problems related to system safety with function blocks and their programming language are dealt with.

Abstract:The water system design is very important for the central air-conditioning system design.It is necessary to change traditional design and calculation methods in order to improve the design quality and efficiency.Based on graph theory and pipe-network theory,the program with the functions of the calculation of branch flow distribution,resistance loss,adjustment for pressure difference,pipe sizing,the specification of water pumps and balance valves,and the design optimization was developed.The theories and methods with respect to the development of the program were presented.The program was applied in a practical engineering.It was proved that the methods proposed could improve design quality and efficiency.

Abstract:The current status of the applications of fieldbus in fossil-fired power plants worldwide is expounded,and the system configuration,design criteria,and cautions of fieldbus systems in field equipment layer in fossil-fired power plants are analyzed in accordance with the features of unit control.The results of comparison in technical and economic aspects show that fieldbus technology will bring active factors to digitized management and control of whole plant,and whole life cycle of design,installation,commissioning,operation,maintenance in low cost.Thus it is feasible to promote and adopt fieldbus technology in field equipment layer in power plant.

Abstract:Pump is main equipment in air conditioning systems and used widely, but its energy consumption is great. In order to improve energy efficiency, using pump controlled by frequency-conversion technology is an effective method. In this paper, the working principle and control method of variable frequency pump is described in detail, and gives a comparison between variable frequency control and traditional control about energy saving effect. Because traditional PID controller can be hard to get good control performance in pump control, this paper presents a control method using fuzzy logic controller to achieve frequency conversion and constant pressure water supply. The controlled variable is obtained by fuzzy control table. The system has energy-saving, security, and stable water pressure, etc. Simulation results show that the proposed controller not only have good robustness, but also have good dynamic and static performance.

Abstract:This paper proposes a design scheme that CAN Bus is used to communicate between the indoor controllers and the outdoor controller of VRV air-conditioning system. On the basis of analyzing the technical characteristics of CAN bus and the communication requirements of VRV (Variable Refrigerant Volume) air-conditioning system, the communication structure and the communication object model are concluded, and the topology structure of VRV air-conditioning, hardware scheme and software design idea of CAN communication are shown. The debugging experiment proves that CAN bus is able to effectively resolve the communication problem among the indoor controllers and the outdoor controller of VRV air-conditioning system.

Abstract:The principle of supervisory system with microcomputer for central cooling system is presented.The system includes three subsystems,and data processing subsystem with industrial control computer.The acquisition subsystem gets basic data according to sensors,and the data is processed in processing subsystem.The communication subsystem is set for transmitting data from PLC to industrial control computer.Adopting multilevel distributed structure not only avoid the loss of signal caused by long-distance transmission,but also simplifies the wiring and facilitates adding the amount and sorts.The system is easy to be extended and upgraded.The paper completes both the software and hardware design and presents a kind of central air conditional monitoring system that can be applied to the large-scale public buildings.
