Abstract:Objective: To study a new type of injectable cell scaffold for used in repairing and regen- erating of bone, cartilage and fat in tissue engineering. Methods: By means of emulsion-solvent evaporation technique, microspheres with different morphology which were composed of poly(l- lactide) (PLLA), polylactide-co-poly(ethylene oxide) (PLE) and polycaprolactone–co-poly (ethylene oxide) -co-polylactide (PCEL) respectively were prepared. Results: It was found that composition of the polylactone-type polymer has major effect on morphology of the microspheres. Morphology structures of the microspheres and stabilizer used have important effects on cell affinity of the microspheres. The polymers composed of poly(ethylene oxide) component could form porous struc- tured microspheres. On the other hand the microspheres fabricated in the presence of gelatin as stabilizer showed the better cell affinity. Conclusion: Biodegradable polylactone-type microspheres as injectable cell scaffold have good cell affinity and have potential application in tissue engineering.
