Numeric Indicators of Stock Reference System and Its Application

Abstract:Stock indicators of library collections are proposed such as absolute tolerance,rate of bibliotheca holding and relative tolerance,for evaluation purpose in sustainable development of library collection.For further research of comparison,a digital stock evaluation of print-and-digital English-language periodicals stacked in Tongji University Library is performed according to Ulrich's International Periodicals Directory /Ulrich's Periodicals Directory? Results show,that the overall tendency of both bibliotheca scale behaves in an exponential form of distribution,and that the rate of bibliotheca holdings and relative tolerance can be seemly segmented into two or three Ulrich's sets of category,and that the numeric distribution of the indicators is at large consistent with the traditional discipline's or newly emerged inter-discipline's prominence of subject program in Tongji University.
