Influence of Splitter Blades of Centrifugal Compressor Impeller on Performance

Abstract:A 3-D impeller of some centrifugal compressor has no space for facture in the inlet,so it is redesigned which has splitter blades.In order to verify if the redesigned impeller can satisfy the design parameter and to compare with the original impeller to obtain the deference between them,numerical simulation for them is carried on.The numerical result indicates that the two impellers are both satisfy the design parameter and the performance of the revised impeller is better than the original impeller.It is because that the relative mach number of the original impeller is higher than the revised impeller which causes more friction loss.
