Abstract:(E)-alpha-Selanylvinylzirconium and (E)-alpha-silylvinylzirconium complexes 2 were prepared conveniently via hydrozirconation of the alkynylselenides and the alkynylsilanes 1, respectively. Intermediates 2 were reacted with acyl chlorides 3 via Zr-Cu transmetallation with retention of the configuration to afford alpha-seleno or alpha-silyl alpha,beta-unsaturated ketones 4 in good yield.

Abstract:A general and stereoselective synthesis of (Z)-ketoeneynes 9 and 11a-f was established by using a Pd(O)-Cu(I)-catalyzed cross-coupling of the labile (Z)-ketoenol triflate 3 with 1-alkynes under carefully controlled reaction conditions. Isomerization of the coupling products into the more stable (E)-ketoeneynes 8 and 12a-f was observed and could be minimized by earring out the coupling reaction in CH3CN at low temperature using Et3N as the base. Abstract:Silver-catalyzed silylene transfer to divinyl ketones provided 2-silyloxy-1,3-dienes with control of stereochemistry and regioselectivity. The products participated in Diels-Alder reactions with electron-deficient alkenes and imines to form six-membered-ring products diastereoselectively. Cycloaddition reactions with alkenes bearing chiral auxiliaries provided access to chiral, nonracemic cyclohexenes. The methodology, therefore, represents a synthesis of diastereomerically and enantiomerically pure products in a single flask. The highly substituted cyclohexene products could be functionalized stereoselectively to provide cyclohexanols after oxidation of the carbon-silicon bond.

Abstract:Cyclopropenes are well-known vinyl carbene precursors, however it is still challenging to control the E/Z selectivity of the in-situ generation of the C-C double bond. Herein, we designed hydroxyl substituted aromatic enaminones to react with cyclopropenes by zinc promotion to provide α-allyl-1,3-ketoaldehydes and α-vinyl-1,4-ketoaldehydes in high regio- and stereo-selectivities. The hydroxyl group is believed to play a key role in controlling the E/Z selectivity of C-C double bond, which is generated in situ from ring-opening of cyclopropenes. This dual platforms are not only compatible with broad substrate scope of enaminones and cyclopropenes, but also benefit with mild reaction conditions, cheap zinc catalysts and easy-handling procedures.

Abstract:A novel strategy for the synthesis ofcis-decalins by an ytterbium-catalyzed asymmetric inverse-electron-demand Diels-Alder reaction of 2-pyrones and silyl cyclohexadienol ethers is reported here. A broad range of synthetically importantcis-decalin derivatives with multiple contiguous stereogenic centers and functionalities are obtained in good yields and stereoselectivities. A full set of diastereomeric substitutedcis-decalin motifs are readily accessible by tuning the absolute configurations of substituted silyl cyclohexadienol ethers (RorS) as well as the ligands (RorS). The synthetic potential is showcased by the enantioselective total synthesis of 4-amorphen-11-ol, and further demonstrated by the first total synthesis ofcis-crotonin.

Abstract:We herein describe a versatile palladium-catalyzed synthesis of ,-diaryl ,-unsaturated ketones. A broad range of aryl halides react with -arylbutanones to afford biologically useful, symmetrical and unsymmetrical ketones. The use of 4,5-diazafluoren-9-one and oxygen makes this one-pot reaction more applicable. A plausible mechanism involving palladium-catalyzed oxidative Heck-type cross-coupling is also proposed.
