Abstract:In recent years,Chinese universities made a big step in construction of Web-based courses.However,such problems as gap between theory and practice were quite obvious in Chinese practice of Web-based course design.This study aims to use a case study to explore the key factors that characterize high quality Web-based course.The selected course,named <Advanced Methods in Distance Education>,was taught by Dr.Dooley,who is from Texas A&M University.Characteristic analysis of the course found that such key aspects as management platform,instructional design,interaction design,performance assessment,and learning support contribute to its success.

Abstract:To explore the novel teaching pattern of the experimental course,a composite of online course with flipped classroom and on-site experiment is proposed,and was applied to physiological science experiments course in Zhejiang University.The effects of novel teaching pattern was evaluated by a 7 scale questionnaire survey conducted among 359 students from 12 classes.Statistical results showed that the students rated highly the course design and agreed that the novel teaching pattern improved students' interest in learning,promoted independent learning and active learning.The study demonstrated that students' self-learning ability,in particular,practical ability,scientific writing ability have improved significantly under the novel teaching mode.Students' knowledge comprehensive ability,capability for experimental design,questioning and problem-solving skills in scientific research were improved as well.The teaching pattern of physiological science experiments composed of online courses,flipped classroom and on-site experiments improves teaching quality and students' comprehensive ability.

Abstract:Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, an online inorganic chemistry course for engineering students was set up at Zhejiang University for the 2020 spring semester. In this study, we will be using this course as an example of how to offer efficient methods for online teaching in chemistry. Applications such as DingTalk, WeChat, and the Web site were combined to establish a network platform to smoothly carry out this course. Personal insights on high-quality online teaching for inorganic chemistry are also discussed. Taken into consideration for online teaching and learning attributes, special screening background, scientific story and history, research frontiers, and interesting activities were incorporated to attract the attention of students in class. Abstract:The principle of chemical engineering is an important engineering basic course in process engineering. It is very important to set up the engineering concept and cultivate the students' ability of engineering practice. In the traditional teaching mode, students are short of previewing,leading to the unreliable knowledge. Based on the Internet interactive teaching platform, blending teaching and learning are adopted in the principles of chemical engineering, in which students are taken as the center of knowledge learning. Students' initiatives are fully mobilized; their ability of autonomous learning is improved; the spirit of teamwork is cultivated. The terminal achievement shows that all students successfully pass the examination and reach the designed goal.

Abstract:In the inorganic chemistry courses of medical universities, the Moso Teach software is used to carry out the design of online and offline blended teaching combined with case discussions. The results show that compared with the control group, the students in the experimental group interspersed with case discussions are more interested in learning, their final grades are significantly improved. Students have a deeper understanding and mastery of knowledge, can apply what they have learned. Practical results show that the blended teaching has achieved satisfactory teaching results.

Abstract:Web course development is evolving in recent years. Designing the structure for web course is an important task, as the course performance and education effects are closely related to and influenced by the course structure. A suitable structure for web course is proposed and discussed in this paper. This structure has combined the tree structure and graph structure, and has the advantages of providing users more flexible access ability to the web course, as well as tractable navigation and hierarchical configuration. Such a structure has been implemented into a recently developed web course for image techniques. Some example results are also presented.

Abstract:The content of inorganic chemistry in senior high school is complex and difficult to understand. The integration of information technology and inorganic chemistry in senior high school can enrich the way of classroom introduction, implement situational teaching and stimulate students' love for inorganic chemistry. At the same time, it can also provide alternative means for our senior high school students to understand knowledge, which can effectively break through the key and difficult points in the classroom and transform the abstract content in chemistry into visual knowledge. This paper first clarifies the theoretical basis for the integration of information technology and high school chemistry resources, introduces the source of chemical teaching materials in information technology, and proposes that multimedia information technology is the best auxiliary teaching method in high school inorganic chemistry classroom, which has the advantages of strong effectiveness.

Abstract:Computer organization and design has played an important role in the field of computer science and technology. With the rapid progress in semi-conductor, there are also new relative advances in computer science and technology. How to design computer organization and design course becomes more challengeable than before. The traditional teaching contents and the new advances should be organized together and taught to the students through effective methods. Computer organization and design is designed as the fundamental course at Zhejiang University. In this paper, we describe the innovations and reformations in the teaching methods of the computer organization and design course based on our background of our many years' teaching and research. During the teaching, we have designed different teaching innovations and reformations to improve teaching effect and cultivate students' innovative concepts. We have also provided special support through the online course construction. It is indicated that using different teaching methods in class could inspire students' learning interest and passion according to the different teaching scenarios, while the online support can extend the teaching in class further and provide a better learning platform to the students.
Inorganic Chemistry Textbook-Integrated Science and Religion as Characteristics of Islamic Higher Education

Abstract:Nowadays, studies related to the integration between religion and science were attracting the interest of many researchers from religious universities in order to confirm the paradigm of the general public about the dichotomy between religion and science. This study used the ADDIE instructional design to develop an inorganic chemistry textbook that was integrated with science and religion, describing the textbook's characteristics as well as responses from lecturers and students about the developed textbook. This textbook's features are based on chemical representations (macroscopic, submicroscopic, and symbolic) and are integrated with Qur’an verses and research findings. Validators have given an excellent assessment of the aspects of construction, readability, content suitability, and presentation of the material from the developed textbook with percentages of 100%, 92.5%, 96.88%, and 88.57%, respectively. Lecturers have responded favorably to aspects of content suitability and presentation, as well as attractiveness and usefulness. The graphic aspect, as well as the attractiveness, have elicited very positive responses from students. Based on this, the developed textbooks could be approved for use.
