Determination of Quebrachitol Using Hydrophilic Interaction Chromatography

Abstract:L-Quebrachitol,with significant medical value,was recently found in rubber latex.Due to its hydroxyl radicals,the determination of this compound becomes a difficult issue using traditional reverse-phase liquid chromatography(RPLC) with C-18 column.Therefore,SHISEIDO PC HILIC HPLC with DAD was performed in this study and the mobile phase was fixed as acetonitrile-water(V/V,6/4).The range of linearity and limit of detection with the DAD detection wavelength 190 nm were 0.05-4 mg/mL and 0.01 mg/mL.Meanwhile,the retention factor of L-quebrachitol was 1.07 in DAD detection mode.
