Abstract:Light tube lighting system is a novel illumination device,which fully makes use of daylight.Hence,it is truly energy-saving and environmentally friendly.Shanghai Changjiang Road Tunnel is the first tunnel to adopt the light tube system in China.Combined with this project,the paper introduces the experiment and study on the application of lighting tube system in tunnel and other underground space.It will be a technical support for large scale application of light tube system in tunnel and underground space in the future.

Abstract:As an important part of ensuring traffic safety of highway tunnel, highway tunnel lighting system has some problems such as high energy consumption and low degree of intelligence in its use. In this paper, a set of intelligent dimming system for highway tunnel lighting is designed, which takes the environmental variables such as luminance value and traffic flow information inside and outside the tunnel as input, establishes the intelligent dimming mathematical calculation model, adjusts the output power of the system in real time, and then adjusts the brightness of LED lamps. At the same time, the system connects with the remote management system through Ethernet remote communication technology, and can also realize the function of remote dimming. It improves the intelligent level of highway tunnel lighting and reduces the energy consumption of highway tunnel lighting system.

Abstract:Now sunlight has been applied to indoor and underground space lighting,but the application in tunnel lighting project needs to be developed. This paper discusses how to put sunlight into tunnel by track and aggregate system and sunlight specular reflection system to complement electricity lighting system,which can solve the lighting problem of tunnel entrance. The feasibility of sunlight and electricity blended lighting technology is approved preliminarily.

Abstract:<p>We propose an optimal design model for determining light sources, powers, layout modes, and equipment spacing of lamps in tunnels that not only effectively reduce the overall installation & operation cost and bus also ease the complexity of manual calculations during the design process of tunnel lighting systems. Firstly, the optimal objective functions considering the construction & installation and energy consumption cost are given in the design of tunnel lighting systems; secondly, the design constraints of tunnel lighting systems are analyzed, which include the demand and design brightness, the minimum and maximum equipment spacings and so on. Then, in order to compare the differences between different optimal design parameters, an enumeration algorithm is proposed. Finally, the YanPengShan tunnel in Leshan City, Zhejiang province, is taken as an example to analyze the influence of different design parameters of tunnel lighting systems on the overall cost of the system under various conditions.</p>

Abstract:We propose dedicated road lighting, which is significantly superior to the existing lighting technologies for the city park and housing estate. This dedicated lighting employs freeform surfaces to effectively control the optical field of the LED source to produce three kinds of illumination modes for the curved road, straight road, and the small public square, respectively, perfectly matching the road conditions of the city park and housing estate. A mathematical model of freeform illumination design is presented to achieve a conceptual design of this road lighting, and a numerical technology for solving this design problem is introduced for the first time, to our knowledge. An illumination model of this conceptual design is constructed. The experimental results of the conceptual design tally closely with the target. This dedicated road lighting, integrated with energy saving, healthy lighting and artistic beauty, provides a beautiful landscape for the city park and the housing estate at night, and will play an important role in improving quality of life of the urban inhabitants.

Abstract:Abstract Lighting accounts for a large proportion of energy consumption in highway tunnels. In the context of the “low-carbon economy” and “energy conservation and emission reduction” strategies, this article starts from designing energy conservation, and discusses energy saving of light sources, lamp arrangement, control system, and auxiliary lighting. It summarizes the related research results, and puts forward some insights on the future energy saving design of highway tunnel lighting in China, and provides a reference for highway tunnel lighting design.

Abstract:Due to the special characteristics of highway tunnels and vehicles, the interior of the tunnel is required to provide appropriate lighting to ensure the safety of driving vehicles, especially at the entrance section of the tunnel. At present, most of the tunnel entrance lighting control system only considers one single factor, the brightness outside the tunnel. However, in practice, the required lighting brightness in the tunnel is also related to traffic flow, speed, and other factors. Comprehensively utilizing these factors to improve the control strategy is urgently needed. To deal with this problem, this article has designed a multi-source information acquisition system for tunnel lighting based on the Internet of things technology, which combined with fuzzy control theory in order to develop an intelligent control system for LED lighting at the entrance section of the tunnel. The designed system was implemented and long-term tested in a real highway tunnel. The experimental results have shown that the system designed in this article can automatically control the brightness of the lighting inside the tunnel according to the real-time measurements of the brightness outside the tunnel, traffic flow, speed, and so on. Furthermore, the utilizations of the system can minimize the human and power consumption of tunnel lighting while ensuring the safety of tunnel traffic.

Abstract:In order to achieve the goal of energy-saving and safety driving in tunnel, this paper proposes an energy-saving fuzzy control system for highway tunnel lighting. Firstly, a control system for highway tunnel lighting based on IoT technology is constructed. Then, by considering tunnel exterior environmental luminance, traffic volume and vehicle speed as inputs and tunnel interior luminance as output, a fuzzy control model is designed. Based on experts’ experience and “Guidelines for Design of Lighting of Highway Tunnels (China)” (JTG/T D70/2-01-2014), membership functions and fuzzy control rules of different zones are designed. Furthermore, this system has been deployed at the Duan tunnel of Guangxi Province in China and stably operated for more than half a year. The operation results demonstrate that the proposed control method can effectively avoid the “black hole effect” and “white hole effect”, and have a significant energy-saving effect (saving nearly 41% daily energy consumption).

Abstract:The traditional tunnel lighting is controlled by on/off mode.As to the Renmin Rd.Tunnel,a new light resource,LED,is used with a more intelligent dimming control.In this paper,the reasons of choosing LED dimming control,the architecture of dimming control system,LED lamps' dimming theory and key technologies and the indicators in application are put forward.Meanwhile,the suggestions are proposed for the operational mode of LED dimming and the effect of energy conservation is analyzed.The LED is regarded as a trend in lighting with its important part,the LED dimming control.

Abstract:In order to ensure the driving safety of high-altitude highway tunnel and effectively reduce the lighting cost, this paper adopts the method considering the influence of automobile headlights luminance which combines reaction time incremental theory at different altitudes and lighting design simulation calculation. The paper has studied the design pattern of high-altitude highway tunnel, which are dominated by fixed lighting and supplemented by automotive lighting. The results show that: to ensure driving safety, the luminance of the lighting design for interior zone of highway tunnel increases with the increasing altitude. Based on the supplementary lighting of automobile headlights, the lighting design standards for the interior zone of high-altitude highway tunnel(the altitude is 2000m, 3000m, 4000m, 5000m respectively) are 0.73cd/m 2 , 0.82cd/m 2 , 0.91cd/m 2 , 1.0cd/m 2 .

Abstract:Driving in tunnel areas depends more heavily on light conditions than that on open roadways. Traditional lighting systems in highway tunnels adjust lighting parameters only caring about outside light luminance, and focus is usually on energy conservation; however, little concern is about drivers' actual physical and psychological needs. How to leverage the enormous research progress of traffic safety, light environment, human factors engineering, and modern lighting sources to create an ideal tunnel light environment that aids with ensuring driving safety and lower interference effects caused by the change of light environment will greatly improve safety level and reduce adverse influence on drivers' visual health in a tunnel area. An intelligent lighting control system designed with multiple influence factors are systematically considered. Based on sensor data from outside natural light conditions, target lighting parameters are determined per each lighting zone requires; then, lighting commands will be transferred and parsed by adaptive lighting controllers and modules, eventually LED lighting properties are altered step by step. This system helps a lot with optimizing tunnel lighting quality and improving drivers' visual performance; as a result, it contributes to lower the fluctuation of drivers' workload and get a smooth traffic flow, and ultimately this technically ensures physical and mental health of drivers in a tunnel area.

Abstract:The long sequence of tunnel ambient exterior luminance L2o (S) and the traffic data of 6 highway tunnels in the coastal hilly area of Eastern Zhejiang are obtained by using the improved environmental sketch method combined with the loop coil vehicle detector,so as to learn the variation laws of highway tunnel dimming and further solve the problem of dimming control matching with lighting demand of highway tunnel.The results show that:(1) In the Eastern Zhejiang,Area the ratio among peak values of L20 (S) in spring,summer,autumn and winter,are about 0.95,1,0.95,0.85 respectively;and that in sunny,cloudy,overcast and heavy overcast weather conditions are about 1,0.6,0.18,0.11 respectively.(2) L2o(S) is the main factor which affects the lighting demand of the highway tunnel in eastern Zhejiang,and its contribution to energy saving is more than 95％;the influence of traffic on the tunnel lighting is limited.(3) The shorter the tunnel is,the more significant the energy savings is achieved by the dimming control;the stepless dimming of the short tunnels can save energy consumption by more than 50％.

Abstract:As a new solid state light source, white LEDs have been gradually used for road lighting and tunnel lighting. When making design of tunnel lighting, many factors, like illuminance, uniformity, flicker frequency, and different lighting requirements of different tunnel areas, should be considered. Due to the luminance difference in and out of the tunnel, and also bright and dark adaptation problem, adaptable lighting design is in demand. In this article, the author made different designs for day and night tunnel lighting. With the help of DIALux, a tunnel model was built, and good lighting design was achieved. Considering of mesopic vision effect, lighting in the interior part of the tunnel was corrected. The results show that good effects can be achieved in tunnel lighting by using white LEDs.

Abstract:Abstract Based on the research problems of modern tunnel lighting control technology, a tunnel lighting intelligent control system based on ambient luminosity ratio is designed, which is characterized by “car close lights bright, car passing lights dark”, intelligent analysis of system failures, etc. The core technology is LED Tunnel light group brightness automatic adjustment, python data analysis, etc. The design of the core control unit of the system is based on the STC89C52 chip, which uses the numpy module in python to matrix the data in the database through the information collected by the sensor (the light intensity inside and outside the tunnel, the traffic condition of the vehicle in the tunnel, and the working condition of the tunnel lighting equipment, etc.) Level storage and use principal component analysis and other algorithms to perform a large number of calculations and processing on the obtained data. The controller generates a corresponding PWM signal to control the brightness of the LED tunnel light group to solve the problem of excessive lighting or insufficient brightness; through other controls The components exchange information, and the downstream controller performs calculation and processing according to the control instructions sent by the previous stage and the real-time signals detected by the sensors to realize the selective brightness and automatic brightness adjustment of the tunnel section lighting, and finally achieve intelligent control, energy saving and emission reduction the goal of. In addition, we use the seaborn library and matplotlib library in python to visually display the obtained tunnel lighting equipment working condition data, and send the results to the relevant road management department. This will play an important role in greatly improving the efficiency of activities such as equipment maintenance, collecting equipment work information, and optimizing the work structure of road management. To a certain extent, it is conducive to the implementation of specific work of relevant departments.

Abstract:Spiral tunnel is a special type of tunnel section, and the lighting of the basic section of the tunnel is very important in the tunnel lighting design. However, at present, there is no design specification for spiral tunnel. By researching the driver's physiological and psychological reactions, and comparing the driver's heart rate changes in linear tunnel and spiral tunnel, and using the MATLAB fitting tool to analyze the collected data, this paper studies the impact of the lighting of the basic section of spiral tunnel on the driver's physiology and psychology, so as to provide a theoretical basis for the selection of lighting index of the basic section of spiral tunnel.
