Leaching of Copper by Bacteria From Printed Circuit Board at Various Initial Conditions

Abstract:Leaching of copper from printed circuit board by isolated Thiobacillus ferrooxidans at different initial conditions,such as pH,Fe2+ concentration and domestication has been studied.The results show that acidic condition can keep iron ion concentration and increase leaching velocity of copper.The optimal pH is of 1.5.The higher Fe2+ concentration is beneficial to leach copper.The optimal Fe2+ concentration is of 9.0 g/L.The domestication of Thiobacillus ferrooxidans has no influence on leaching of copper.
