Abstract:"Human-centeredness" is the value return of the urban culture. For the accordant meaning ,the library culture and the urban culture should have the same content. In this paper,the author observes the social roles of the public library by the angle of view of the urban culture,and the public libraries deliveres "the humanities concern" toward the society by the particular action of library profession. It is sure that the development strategy of the urban culture also brings public libraries opportunities to development themselves.
