Evaluation on the Effect of AIDS Health Education for Practitioners in Public Places in Yantian District of Shenzhen

Abstract:[Objective]To understand the feasibility of health education on AIDS and behavioral intervention for practitioners in public places,explore effective management measures.[Methods]Questionnaire was conducted for practitioners from 25 public places in Yantian district from October to November,2006.543 and 577 practitioners were investigated before and after training,the effect of health education was evaluated.[Results]Of the 15 questions investigated,the knowledge rate related to 7 questions was below 50% before training,Among them the lowest was 17.31%.While after train-ing,the knowledge rate related to the same questions increased,only 2 of them was below 50%,the lowest was 43.50%.AIDS knowledge was mainly acquired through TV,lecture and picture propaganda,accounting for 63.60%,43.15% and 28.77% respectively.The attitude towards people with AIDS was improved a lot.[Conclusion]It was effective to carry out health education on AIDS for practitioners in public places.
